The "clinch knot" you show is really a uni-knot. Also, your "surgeon's loop knot" is really two overhand loop knots. The true surgeon's loop knot starts as a simple overhand knot but with a second passing through of the working end through the loop created.

Thank you so much. I have wanted to make these type diy rigs, but I have arthritis in my hands, and nerve shaking in my left at times. Knots that I have been tying for most of my life I can still do, but tying the dropper loop in regular fashion that I have never tied was tough to master for me for those reasons. This rig board solves my problem.

I don’t know where you learned your knots. The surgeons loop is made by creating a bite then making a loop then passing twice through that loop then tightening it. The clinch knot is made by creating a bite then passing the tag and around the standing end four times then back through the loop created by the bite and pulling the tag end and mainline to tighten. You can ask your buddy the sinker guy.

Its always interesting to see the differences and the similarities of these type of videos. I also like to see the different style terminal tackle each person uses that varies.

Last year I did a test by tying the dropper loop about 20 times,
comparing it with other ways to make a loop. The dropper loop, your second knot, kept
cutting itself and is now my least favorite knot.
