Patrick "Depayeh".. French driver. Love this car!
My favorite F1 kit as well.
that thing is so cool... love that design, always have.
The base tooling of this kit dates all the way back to 1977. It was updated in 2010 with the big fret of P/E and a few other minor improvements. They also did a slightly modified reissue of the P34 as it ran in 1977 (which is the white over blue scheme mentioned elsewhere in the comments).
😍Love this kit/F1 Car!!!!!!!!!!!!👍
that's it man, this is a theme that I really like... I've built this tyrrel and 3 more F1's (m23, wolf and honda ra272)... and I have 12 more in line to build... tamiya is tamiya, the Kits are fantastic even without additions... my 6 wheel tyrrel is old and didn't have extra parts... the others I built didn't either... so on m23 I went crazy, added over 400 parts for detailing, yes, total madness... these ford cosworth v8 engines look amazing with a few extra cables... yes, i love these Tamyia F1 kits...
Cool kit, haven't built this one yet. Jody Scheckter won the world championship for ferrari in 1979.😊
Sold!!!! I’m gettin one….thanks Matt.
I don't remember photo etch being in the kit I built years ago. And now, I'll have to check my new kit out to see if it has it. The one I saw in person was white over blue.
Jackie Stewart!
The Stig.
That's a great kit ❤
I was lucky enough to come across one of these, half built in a Ziploc bag, for 5 bucks..... missing some of the photo etched parts, but at least all the tires, the engine, and the body appear to be there.
My idea was not to even finish it, and build a garage scene around it, as if in the process of being built. Never done a scale garage before, but I have plenty of styrene from 1/10 scale rc builds. Might as well give it a try.
Or bust out my Dremel and adapt the 6 tires to a 99 Pontiac nascar, with a 78 Chevy van roof grafted to the top.......
The original p34 had some issues with the tiny tires. They would spin so much faster than the rear that they would expand on the bead and loose air. The low windows were to see if a tire went flat because drivers wouldn't even notice one had gone down. Oh and the reason they stopped using 4 tires up front?
Ferrari basically said how many do we have to order to keep you from making those.
John Ficarra tells an excellent story about the p34 on the vin wiki CZcams channel.
It's totally worth the watch for some wild history on this car.
I read that the front brakes would get very, very hot too. Also Goodyear said they weren't going to make the little 10" tires for one team only.
Cool kit!
I’ve just got hold of the 1/12th scale P34 ... wish me luck ...
Too cool!! I've seen one of those built. Very cool! 2min 28sec into the video

Awesome. I remember that car racing back in the seventies when I was a wee lad and I was fascinated by it, maybe because it was unusual. Look forward to your build of it.
Nice looking kit. Tons of fun in that box. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice Matt! Look forward to seeing you build it. 😎🇨🇦
This is a very neat kit - I built one back in the day - you'll enjoy it I am sure. Cheers Bob 👍
Awesome looking kit Matt, looking forward to seeing you build it!
Absolutely awesome detailed kit! It's a skill level 10!
Man I remember watching that car race on TV it's a shame the idea did not pan out in racing would love to have a model of it.
I loved this car when I was a kid.
Me too Carey!
Nice
Have fun with that one Matt.
I have that in a 1/12 scale and the 1/20 scale
FYI: I'm fairly certain Formula 1 cars ran on gasoline. Indy cars run on alcohol.
I have built that kit in both the 1/20th and the 1/12 th scale
This, at one time was on my want to build and you pronounced Jody's name well enough. The scale is too odd, and the kit too expensive, so gave it up. The kit dates back to a long time ago, but has been updated several times
I have built several tamiya 1/20 F1 kits, I highly recommend them.😊
Pronounced Day-Pie-Eh
It's pronounced Tirrul.....
