    ただの精巧なレプリカだけでなく本物同様の怪物性能も再現し、

    • @XBBBBBXx
      @XBBBBBXx Před 2 lety +15

      because they were developing the race and the street version of the r32 at the same time. so it migth be that they decided to not change the areodynamically optimized racebody for the streetcar, probably besides the material.
      my first sentence is fact, the second one speculation

    • @ChrisReneP
      @ChrisReneP Před 2 lety +26

      It's mostly due to it being built under Group A Touring car rules. If you look up most race cars built under that rule set like the 90's DTM or Aussie touring cars, they also look very much stock, compared to GT cars.

    • @HiBoa
      @HiBoa Před 2 lety +22

      Group A regulations meant that they had to retain all exterior body panels to be identical to the road-going version it was homologated from, similar to what super touring would do in the 90's. All variations of the GT-R you see around the world are based on the original nismo version of the car, as was the case in 1990/91.

    • @ohwell118
      @ohwell118 Před 2 lety +7

      That ATCC R32 GTR is what you call a game changer, in the literal sense. The only thing as quick as the Gibson's GTRs in a straight was either Dick Johnson's Sierra Cosworth or that HRT commodore (VP I think). In the corners though is where the GTRs set themselves apart. As dominant as it was in Australia, it was also killing it in the European endurance races. And in Japan, it's still the most dominant race car of all-time.

      @@ohwell118 I would agree, that is why the CAMS committee take drastic measures on giving restrictions to the R32s for the 1992 ATCC Season.
      First by restricting its power from ~620hp to ~450-480 hp, plus a 140kg handicap weight (1360kg to 1500kg), but it still win alongside the Bathurst 1000.
      *I know that the R32s were also given a 140kg weight handicap on Macau Guia race, but that occurred in the previous year in 1991 hehehe.
