    Lucy. As an artist - here is your solution - next time book a trip for at least 10 days. 4 days for a creative process is next to nothing. Barely enough to start the first road block. You need time for at least 3 failed attempts creating rubbish, and then maybe 30 seconds of inspiration will arise. Inspiration is not some supernatural intervention, it is the result of intense PROLONGED thinking. Just my two cents.

      @@user-qu8zs7vs1x LOL, I agree, but I didn't mean necessarily a 10 day trip! I meant - 10 days for the process. :) I don't have the privilege either!

    this is everyone's sign to go alone to Paris because i actually went to Paris but with friends but we fought and it ruined the experience for me hahaha
    I think Paris is a great destination to just relax and think by yourself, without feeling lonely

    Lucy, I really loved this vlog. Especially the clip of the half-eaten tart… it was a precious reminder that life has so many colours and the best moments are the ordinary ones. Not every trip is the “one” but we learn and grow from every experience. Maybe there is a song to be discovered there, too. ❤

    About the books and tropes thing - I think it's a case of becoming hyper aware. Since my mum died I felt like everything I read and watch has an ill or dying parent. Take care of yourself ❤️

    I am booking a solo trip for the first time as a writing escape. I call it an escape because I know that i'm mindfully escaping my "expecting results fast" mindset to a slow process mindset. Even if it feels like a fail now (because of the lack of imidiate results), it might take a different aspect later on and inspire something that would never have been born, if not, for this little escape with myself ✨

Watching from an onlooker’s perspective I could see how the pressure of the task led to it being difficult to complete. I often set myself up for failure by having strict expectations. Keep going and you’ll get there in due time ✨

    Have you ever considered being neurodivergent/ADHD? I'm the process of being diagnosed in my mid-twenties and honestly i see so many similarities (lack of structure, random bursts of motivation that you cannot predict or control, constantly seeking out new projects...). Obvs that alone doesn't mean you are neurodivergent but it might be worth it to explore the topic more!

    • @lucymoon
      @lucymoon  Před měsícem +7

      My mum and my sister have ADHD so it wouldn’t surprise me lol. Good luck with your diagnosis!

    • @martaweronika9813
      @martaweronika9813 Před měsícem

      The same thing came to my mind! I was diagnosed with ADHD about 3 years ago and could totally relate to what Lucy was describing in the video. I also remembered Lucy's video about her sister having ADHD, and knowing that it runs in families, her having it too is possible.
      Lucy, if you feel like you're struggling with your workload and structure; if you feel like your thoughts are all over the place, I'd highly recommend checking whether you're neurodivergent and seeing if medication could help. Obv this is just some unsolicited advice from a stranger :D and I know that ADHD often helps with creativity, but it also disrupts the process of actually creating and getting stuff done!
      PS
      Loved the video

    Maybe try again without vlogging? It seems you are juggling two different creative processes and the one you had planned to do is getting forced and so nothing is coming. Try to give yourself more space and time. One more thing- let yourself walk around different neighbourhoods of Paris without any planned visits-- see what you discover along the way-- I live in Paris and this is one of my favorite things to do. this only marginally has something to do with the video but I find it sooo funny that british people don't consider themselves as part of europe, "the first english bookshop in europe" I was like ... weren't there any bookshops in england?? and then it clicked hahaha I just don't understand. it's not like britain is its own continent!

    • @marimva

    I watched Tiffany's video too, so I have thoughts. I think the idea that work=meaning is a scam (overall, I get that some work is genuinely meaningful), and I think you probably get there faster when you work a standard job/career because.. most of the time we're doing "computer work" and watching how dysfunctional our workplaces can be, how many freeloaders can coast by and suck up to enough "leaders" so they still have a job but contribute at best nothing, at worst cause problems... in my experience, it's very rare to feel like everything is great and your daily efforts are meaningful beyond your team or close colleagues. But work does create a built in structure/routine that is conducive to feeling "useful" in some sense. Everyday I have things to do, meetings to attend, things I'm responsible for. People would ask if I didn't show up or do work I committed to each sprint. I have limited free time so I use my free time to cycle or swim or cook or do laundry etc- which also feels "useful." So most of my days, working and not, have a sense of ticking off tasks/getting stuff done, even if it's sitting through 3 hours of dumb meetings, doing very unexciting development work and texting with a friend on teams about how dumb our agile transformation is... this is not actually very impactful stuff in the grand scheme of things. If you have endless free time or absolute freedom to decide what to do when, and if your workload is such that it doesn't take up a majority of your week... I can see how you'd be tempted to stay in bed longer or avoid emails or get lost in youtube for hours and hours, and how days could slip away from you before they start. But (my opinion!) it's not a work problem- it's a routine problem. If you can make enough money in less time because you're a youtuber, that's fucking sick and worth holding onto, because your time is the most valuable thing. You just need to sort out how to use your "extra" time in a way that feels meaningful/useful to you so you can go to bed with the feeling that you've ticked off boxes. I recommend cycling lol. It's the best, I literally would make it my job if I was rich enough to not work haha. I don't mean this to sound prescriptive- these are just my free flowing thoughts- so take them as you want with no judgement pls!
