I lucked into buying a GT-Line AWD a couple months ago. If you're debating about buying one (or ordering one), just do it. It is by far the best vehicle of the 11 that I've ever purchased. An absolutely fantastic looking and driving car. However, don't reward those crooked dealers who are adding markups above MSRP.
PS: As the father of two daughters, your little girl is a cutie.
PPS: All Hyundai and Kia products that have Nav systems built into the infotainment system can't use wireless Android Auto or Apple Car Play because of a legal dispute. Doesn't have anything to do with technology limitations.
It's still inexcusable seeing as how other manufacturers are able to do it.
That’s news to me can you share more on what the legal dispute is about? I couldn’t find anything on a quick search
I bought a small unit that plugs in the port and it automatically hooks up with apple car play. Assuming your phone is in the car!
Called: Cplay2Air
I went to a Ford dealer looking for a 40K Ford F150 last year...
They asked for 90k.... 50K MARKUP.
I love how confident and comfortable Evie has gotten in these videos compared to earlier ones in the past
Yup! It even seems like she's becoming more knowledgeable about cars as they do more videos. It's great seeing people discover their enthusiasm about cars!
"the hell if I know" lol gets me everytime. Great work as always Muzio fam!
I must be a sucker for how Kia does things. This is the first EV I've been excited about in the sense that it's actually something I'd buy. By the time I'm ready to let go of my Stinger GT, they'll hopefully have worked out some first gen kinks and maybe have achieved some additional economies of scale to bring the price down a bit (perhaps by just increasing it less than the rate of inflation).
I feel the same way. I'll be looking at the 2nd gen. 2024 model maybe.
17:44 love my EV6 had it since July with no problems!
I was so confused... The name Muzio seemed familiar. I have now put it together. I remember watching helicopter videos now its reviews on the ev6. I am a pilot and an ev6 owner so yeah now my brain fire makes sense. Nice down to earth(flying pun) everyday people car review!
Wait until you hear that his day job is professional car reviewer (see the Kelley Blue Book channel)
I’d take the Kia EV6 over a model Y or model 3, but I’d take a Hyundai Ioniq 5 over the EV6. I’d also look into the Mach E if it was a similar price to the Kia or Hyundai.
Exact same thing I would do
No just you
Ew ioniq dogwater
Except: reviews show EV6 handles better around corners... Ioniq 5 is more sloshy
EV6 and Hyundai charge twice as fast as Mach e
Well, it must be a good car because have we ever heard Evie laugh THAT much?!
Personally, I liked the maniacal laugh at the random punch of the accelerator.
I haven't seen Evie have so much fun and be so excited since her Mini Cooper. :)
Thank you! I really hope to see many more EV reviews. Cheers mate.
I have always had fun watching your constructive reviews of car.
You reviews are real educative and a guide .
I couldn't stop rewinding the needless acceleration part around 2:30. It was cute and hilarious.
Great job on this review!
Been looking at the GT AWD for a city/roadtrip ride, this def. ticks all the boxes for me. Evie, you're an awesome reviewer!
The last point you made is dead on. I just bought a 75k Tesla Model 3 with FSD and frankly I didn't buy it to save the planet. It's literally coal/natural gas powered. I bought it because I am a tech nerd. If I could find a FSD ICE car I would have bought that. Btw I can't believe that Evie6 wasn't used in this video... Seems like I missed opportunity.
Congratulations on your new car. I hope you enjoy many miles to come. Dang. Did you go all in? Never expected a model 3 to go that high?
But Tesla is not an FSD car. Full Self Driving is years late, and nowhere close to working as promised. A Tesla software engineer even admitted that recently.
Great review! The drive looked familiar and then I saw Jensens in the bg, love lake arrowhead!
We have an EV6 Wind AWD and a Mach-E. Love them both, although I have to say the EV6 is easier to operate (screen, nobs and buttons). The big center screen/iPad in the Mach-E is nice, but it's a little cumbersome.
Thanks you for sharing ! Very beautiful 💐
Also, so very close to that windowless white creeper van review. Can't wait!
I usually skip ads but yours I enjoy as much as your videos
Excellent video!😸
Love the review. The Kia EV6 is interesting vehicle .
I love EVs, the environment thing was never my priority, not a tree hugger. I buy it because of they are fast, smooth, stealthy, at home charge convenience and cost less to run.
So, is this the "Evie 6"? I think it is!
😃🤚 EV6 is very appealing. Nice car, Kia. Nice review Evie! Your video has earned five lightning bolts! ⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡
I think those tabs on the center console are for routing phone charging cables because the charging plugs are annoyingly down below and hard to access.
I know it's unrelated to the car review but I highly recommend the Flying eyes sunglasses. Super light weight for running and no discomfort when I put them on under my MC helmet.
The best part of this is how adorable you two are. Have fun. Maybe next time get the kid involved and ask them what make a car better or worse for them :)
Great review. I was about to take the leap and purchase an EV6 but, the US government decided that only cars made in America qualify for the tax credit. So, now I'm looking at the Chevy Equinox EV. Going to wait until your fabulous review before I finally decide. Thanks! BTW, I recently purchase a 2012 nissan leaf sv just to get a feel of driving an EV. So far I like it.
nothing to add, just engagement. Thumbs up
I wish the EV6 had been out when I bought my Kia Niro hybrid (which gets incredible gas mileage by the way). I love that EVs and hybrids are built like consumer electronics with lots of great quality of life features you don't necessarily get in a regular old internal combustion car.
I think Kia like Hyundai nailed it especially considering this is there 1st attempt. They are stylish, lots of good tech, plenty of room, an actual moonroof you can open.
Are there any non tesla high speed DC chargers in the Big Bear/Arrowhead area? I don't see any on charge point. We just bought the EV6, immediately drove to San Francisco and absolutely loved every minute of it.
Evie is the star of the show!
I keep seeing it as Kia Eve 6. "Here's To The Night."
How many miles are these reliable for and where is it made?
I am happy you include a would Evie drive it section. It's amazing how much my wife factors into car decisions.
3:15 "what's this?" Awww 😂
nice review! sounds like a lot of road noise, is that true?
As much as she enjoyed the car, and as enthusiastic as Evie was in her “yes” response I was half expecting you guys to announce you had ordered one to replace the CR-V.
I have a 10-year-old Santa Fe I want to replace with an EV or Plug-in (while there are still incentives to be had) and I’m pretty much down to the Mach-E, Ioniq 5, or the EV6 if I had to do it right now. The Mach-E probably won’t have any more incentives available by the time I’m ready to buy, the Ioniq is a tad cheaper and roomier than the EV6, so I’d probably go with that. That being said, I’m trying to hold out for something closer in size to my Santa Fe (EV-7 Perhaps) so for now, it’s nothing.
Have a wonderful day Muzios!
the tabs on the side of center console are full usb wires for your connected android auto or carplay.
@motormouth explained the wired-only projection as Hyundai/Kia fighting to be the default map provider on models with sat nav.
wireless AA/CP doesn't allow for this, so therefore they don't allow wireless AA/CP
I just bought one so that’s what I think about the Kia EV6! Wind 🌬
I think the new Standardized Mountain Friendly Bar is very reasonable.
It is more of a Winter Mountain (On Road) Rating.
For me, living in the Canadian Rocky Mountain Foothills, it makes a lot of sense.
saw one of these for the first time the other day out on the road. videos just cant compare to seeing it for real.
How is the mate paint so far I really like it but have heard really bad reviews about mate paint in general
lol every time you have Evie drive something truly sporty but confident i can tell she would love that cat secretly
I bought an EV6. A Yacht Blue GT-line RWD. Have to wait till Feb '23 for delivery, because they are only bringing 500 cars a year to Australia and they all sold out months before the car "went on sale".
I picked the EV6 over:
Ioniq 5 because while I like the I5's exterior style slightly better, I like the EV6's interior better. My wife prefers both the EV6's interior and exterior. The EV6 also has a bigger battery, ventilated seats, and a Australia specific suspension tune that is better controlled and more comfortable than the I5's soft and wallowing ride.
Tesla Y because the Y isn't for sale here yet. I don't like running everything through the touchscreen. No instrument panel. No HUD. The glass roof (with no shade!) bakes the interior in the summer. No ventilated seats to mitigate the heat. And by reviews I've seen, the ride quality is awful.
Tesla 3 for all the reasons I listed for the Y, but adding a small back seat and tiny boot opening.
Polestar 2 because it is a little small in the back and the ICE platform compromises utility. Safety and tech that are standard in the EV6 are optional. Ride is firm, but strikes a better ride/handling balance than the Teslas. It is very handsome and has the nicest interior by far. Similar arguments for the XC40.
The VW ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, and Nissan Ariya are coming to Aus, but no one can say when. The Ford Mustang Mach-E isn't sold in Australia, and probably never will be.
We just bought and EV6 and I watched this video to help decide lol
5:50 I was about to say, they should stretch it just a bit and make a wagon out of it. Wagon Mafia.
Thanks for the review. Would three kids fit in the back seat?
Looks like a great car.
Umm Evie is really good at ads!!! More more!!!
So classic!
definitely the Kia EV6; established car manufacturer that knows how to build vehicles - better build quality; Tesla has been in market since 2012 and consumers still find assembly issues ..
If the Ioniq 5 has an open sunroof, then I probably go for it. But this new Kia EV6 is by far the only ev car I've seen that has an open sunroof vs a fixed panoramic roof. I don't want to look up in the glass. I want to open it and feel the breeze.
Out of curiosity, how tall is Evie? My wife is 4'11" and is considering this for her next car. But we're wondering about the visibility in general for this car. It seems like it might be hard to see out of the back.
I love my EV6. I think the hook on the center console is for masks? That's what I use it for?
This car looks really really good in Blue
soda with kia.. looks amazing
So if I see one of these with Evie6 as the plate I’ll know it’s the Muzio Fam.
“I’m so sorry” 😆🤣🤣
"Oh look, a Tesla!" Right after talking about autonomous driving 🤣
Evie driving an EV.🤣
Evie Driving EV couldn’t be better suited! @micah buy her one!
Really want to DIY a drink in my IONIQ 5.
Favorite car of the heart in a blender song.
Charging is actually the main hassle for all electric vehicles (excluding Tesla). Almost all charging stations in the US are just LEVEL2 charging stations. It takes soooo long to charge and some are out of order.
I was going to buy the Ford and bought the Kia instead. Driven it for 6 months and it is great. The thing is I don't think I would have been disappointed with the Hyundai or Ford, they are great. How do you choose one, honestly personal choice and taste.
i'll point out that as of january 2024 wireless apple carplay and android auto are available through a software update!
What color is this called?
Sexy torso? Indeed. You did a pec bounce in your KBB video. Sorry not sorry 😅😂😂
In Canada a Model 3 is 75k bucks and a Kia EV6 AWD top trim is 62k. And the Kia gets 5k dollar gov't rebate and the Tesla doesn't. No contest up here. Tesla Model Y is 84k up here. No rebate so 27k more. It's not even a consideration.
I want the build quality of a company that has some history building cars, but because of my commute, I stay with Tesla for the reliable charging network..... although, I know things are getting better with competitors.
Well, considering the Tesla Model Y and Model 3 are both $15-20K more expensive, the Tesla design team essentially gave up on all attempts interior design and just stapled a 15-inch monitor to the dash and called it done, and Tesla build quality still continues to be an issue, I'm gonna say I'd prefer the Kia EV6. Really don't like the look (or name) of the Ford Mach-E, so that brings us back to the EV6 again. The VW is a car, and I'd prefer a crossover, so back to EV6 again...although it does look a little on the low side, tbh. The EV6 is probably one of the best of the bunch in the "affordable" category at the moment, considering everything else out there is priced for the 1%. I'm still holding out hope for the Canoo, the VW ID Buzz, and maybe the Kia EV9. The more competition we get out there, the more I'm hoping the prices come down out of the stratosphere and the more charging infrastructure we'll see out there. Exciting times!!
I really like the EV6...and cheese sauce 🤣
Isn't the trunk only 18 cu-ft?
Until we have a mature charging network the Tesla always wins because it's an ecosystem and not a stand alone product. This is about as nice to own, rund and drive 2nd car as I can imagine for families. But if it's your main car - get the Tesla.
And if you are often road-tripping, a gasoline car totally wins versus any EV. It's not even close. 400 miles of range in 3 minutes, at 150 thousand plus gas stations in America.
And Camry or Accord are superb cars that are much cheaper than Tesla too.
I don’t think this car looks “futuristic” but it looks like one of those cars that look a little strange and after a few years looks normal. Think. 2000ford focus, 2009 sonata, Prius etc. to me a futuristic design would be something that completely looks like nothing else. Like an ioniq 5.
The Ioniq 5 looks like a huge VW Golf (in profile).
That’s what futuristic means 😬😋
Hyundai Ioniq because it reminds me a little of a Lancia Delta Integrale.
The body styling reminds me of the original Nissan Murano 🤔
I would consider this an "electric hot-hatch" that is roomy. Its brother/sister the Hyundai Iconic 5 is taller and a bit more SUV-like.
Btw, I would consider the Tesla Model Y an "electric crossover" rather than an electric SUV as billed.
"...electric hot-hatch" - Someone is likely about to insist it's a "lift-back," while Mr. Muzio refers to it as a "wagon." I tend to like: "car."
tbh Model Y's ground clearance barely qualifies it even as a crossover
Kia EV6 is very nice.
I like the EV6, but ultimately I ended up purchasing a Model Y Long Range. The KIA has one advantage, that is design. After that though, the Model Y is more efficient (I average about 245wh/miles), has better charging, and and I ordered mine with 3rd row seats and a tow hitch which nobody offers right now. Bottom line, the EV6 is a cool vehicle. But the Model Y is a better ELECTRIC vehicle. I like the Ionic 5 too. Overall, I could easily purchase any of the three (MY, EV6, or I5). The only one I wouldn’t consider is the Mach E which is really a letdown in my opinion.
I think better is somewhat subjective. We ordered a model Y. Test drove it 5 times. It was cool, but we disliked a few things: ride was too bumpy on Michigan roads, glass roof doesn’t come with a shade (Tesla actually offers a manual one you can clip on, but reviews were mixed. We found the interior hot from lack of shade and the sun actually shone through over my wife’s sunglasses while she was driving her car), not much storage inside for wife to stow her purse (not a big glove box), no ventilated seats, and no ability to turn off passenger side air vents - if the air vents are on they’re on both sides. Also wasn’t sure about lack of buttons and using the screen for everything.
It might sound nit picky, and obviously these things won’t bother a lot of people, but for us the EV6 addressed all of these issues so even though our model Y became available I ended declining and buying the EV6. The funny thing is I actually went to drive the EV6 because I figured I would not like it and it would make me realize how great the Y was.. the opposite ended up happening though! Both great cars in their own right.
@@robwolfbrandt7741 The glass roof isn’t much of an issue for me. I may see north of 90° only eight or nine days out of the year. However you are right about the ride. The Hyundai/KIA products are very clearly products of a more mature car brand when you drive them. The Model Y tends to pogo back and forth on its front and rear suspension on big bumps. The EV6/I5 smooths everything out with one thump. Thankfully it appears the new M3/MY are getting softer springs. And yes the interior design and exterior design is very sparse. As a car nerd, aesthetically speaking, the MY is my least favorite car. But I strictly got it to be a work horse so design was pretty low on my list of priorities lol. My wife LOVES the Model Y. I merely like it. It checked all the boxes. And when we ordered it, it was still only $48,000 which was a a bargain.
But I’m glad you got the EV6. The Korean sisters are some solid cars. The Ionic 5 I drove was a blast. Those are the kind of cars that you look back at after you park them. After I park my Model Y, I slam the door shut. Then my daughter slams her door shut, then we walk away lol. It’s an appliance. But a damn good one to be fair.
Love your reply, and it makes complete sense! Wish I could have them both! Lol I’m actually on the preorder list for a Cybertruck (love it it hate it!) so a Tesla could still be in our future! And… who knows… over time as the cars change we could find ourselves in a model Y some day!
Awww. Evie's a cutie.
Try driving my utility chevy van and tell me about blind spots
I'm not sure but i can't see a rear wiper, can you confirm it?
No rear wiper but the shape of the rear and angle of the glass keeps it clean enough. Plus all of the cameras and sensors all around. I think it looks cleaner without the wiper.
@@novax7514 The EV6 is really a nice car, we have 2 EV already (Nissan leaf 40Kwh and WV ID3 77Kwh) they work prefectly but the 77Kwh battery on the ID3 is wonderfull so this Kia EV6 is on our radar as a possible swap for the leaf if the price lower and i find to sell the leaf, just to increase range according to the fact that nissan don't do battery upgrades, but we always had a rear wiper on all our cars, it's a shame for this EV6 with all the cool features it have.
Honestly I think this is 5k more expensive than it should be.
I was going to comment but I digress.
Kia ev 6 🔥👍
Evie is just so insanely adorable.
This review swayed my previous view of the vehicle. This vid was well done and engaging as usual. Build quality would detract from any Tesla for me. So the Korean twins or the MachE are where it's at. All things being equal I'd take the Ford.
I really love the Koreans, but I agree the Mach e is the better buy if the prices were all equal
Mach E charging speed honestly takes it off the table for me unless they push a software update to improve it. But only roughly 160 kw/hr peak for 300 seconds per charging session. This means road tripping is a lot slower. If you only drive 50 mi a day and charge over night, it probably doesn't matter. But any longer trips and you'd really feel it.
Oh....and one more thing. With these electric cars.....please just give us a traditional, reliable door handle. How much drag could they possibly create to justify the complex door handle design?
Trim level names be like - Wind Noise, Road Noise, Tire Noise.
Where are you from
First! Ok, now to watch the video so that I may give pertinent feed back and or opinions.
Dang it you beat me to it
I was waiting you for you to spill your beverage, but Evie drives too well.
I'd do the Mustang Mach E.
This thing trying to copy my accord sport wheels 😅
Since Kia uses HERE for its navigation and they have legal disputes with both apple and google...this is why there is no wireless AA or CarPlay. Its a legal isssue and not technical. Still not resolved as of now
I want cheese sauce on my ev
Electric cars are cool and all but the problem is you can’t buy them. They just aren’t scaling production enough to where you can find one for MSRP. If I had a need for a second car I might consider a BEV, but for now it’s dinosaur juice for me.
Reason they aren’t scaling them is they require intensive mining and for example cobalt that comes from Congo is not the most ethically mined resource.
I can see hard core environmentalists turn against the whole EV thing at some point just like they did against coal and oil
