    I lucked into buying a GT-Line AWD a couple months ago. If you're debating about buying one (or ordering one), just do it. It is by far the best vehicle of the 11 that I've ever purchased. An absolutely fantastic looking and driving car. However, don't reward those crooked dealers who are adding markups above MSRP.
    PS: As the father of two daughters, your little girl is a cutie.
    PPS: All Hyundai and Kia products that have Nav systems built into the infotainment system can't use wireless Android Auto or Apple Car Play because of a legal dispute. Doesn't have anything to do with technology limitations.

    I must be a sucker for how Kia does things. This is the first EV I've been excited about in the sense that it's actually something I'd buy. By the time I'm ready to let go of my Stinger GT, they'll hopefully have worked out some first gen kinks and maybe have achieved some additional economies of scale to bring the price down a bit (perhaps by just increasing it less than the rate of inflation).

    The last point you made is dead on. I just bought a 75k Tesla Model 3 with FSD and frankly I didn't buy it to save the planet. It's literally coal/natural gas powered. I bought it because I am a tech nerd. If I could find a FSD ICE car I would have bought that. Btw I can't believe that Evie6 wasn't used in this video... Seems like I missed opportunity.

    As much as she enjoyed the car, and as enthusiastic as Evie was in her “yes” response I was half expecting you guys to announce you had ordered one to replace the CR-V.
    I have a 10-year-old Santa Fe I want to replace with an EV or Plug-in (while there are still incentives to be had) and I’m pretty much down to the Mach-E, Ioniq 5, or the EV6 if I had to do it right now. The Mach-E probably won’t have any more incentives available by the time I’m ready to buy, the Ioniq is a tad cheaper and roomier than the EV6, so I’d probably go with that. That being said, I’m trying to hold out for something closer in size to my Santa Fe (EV-7 Perhaps) so for now, it’s nothing.
    Have a wonderful day Muzios!

    I bought an EV6. A Yacht Blue GT-line RWD. Have to wait till Feb '23 for delivery, because they are only bringing 500 cars a year to Australia and they all sold out months before the car "went on sale".
    I picked the EV6 over:
    Ioniq 5 because while I like the I5's exterior style slightly better, I like the EV6's interior better. My wife prefers both the EV6's interior and exterior. The EV6 also has a bigger battery, ventilated seats, and a Australia specific suspension tune that is better controlled and more comfortable than the I5's soft and wallowing ride.
    Tesla Y because the Y isn't for sale here yet. I don't like running everything through the touchscreen. No instrument panel. No HUD. The glass roof (with no shade!) bakes the interior in the summer. No ventilated seats to mitigate the heat. And by reviews I've seen, the ride quality is awful.
    Tesla 3 for all the reasons I listed for the Y, but adding a small back seat and tiny boot opening.
    Polestar 2 because it is a little small in the back and the ICE platform compromises utility. Safety and tech that are standard in the EV6 are optional. Ride is firm, but strikes a better ride/handling balance than the Teslas. It is very handsome and has the nicest interior by far. Similar arguments for the XC40.
    The VW ID.4, Skoda Enyaq, and Nissan Ariya are coming to Aus, but no one can say when. The Ford Mustang Mach-E isn't sold in Australia, and probably never will be.

    In Canada a Model 3 is 75k bucks and a Kia EV6 AWD top trim is 62k. And the Kia gets 5k dollar gov't rebate and the Tesla doesn't. No contest up here. Tesla Model Y is 84k up here. No rebate so 27k more. It's not even a consideration.

    I want the build quality of a company that has some history building cars, but because of my commute, I stay with Tesla for the reliable charging network..... although, I know things are getting better with competitors.

  • @meadmaker4525
    @meadmaker4525 Před 2 lety +1

    Well, considering the Tesla Model Y and Model 3 are both $15-20K more expensive, the Tesla design team essentially gave up on all attempts interior design and just stapled a 15-inch monitor to the dash and called it done, and Tesla build quality still continues to be an issue, I'm gonna say I'd prefer the Kia EV6. Really don't like the look (or name) of the Ford Mach-E, so that brings us back to the EV6 again. The VW is a car, and I'd prefer a crossover, so back to EV6 again...although it does look a little on the low side, tbh. The EV6 is probably one of the best of the bunch in the "affordable" category at the moment, considering everything else out there is priced for the 1%. I'm still holding out hope for the Canoo, the VW ID Buzz, and maybe the Kia EV9. The more competition we get out there, the more I'm hoping the prices come down out of the stratosphere and the more charging infrastructure we'll see out there. Exciting times!!

    Until we have a mature charging network the Tesla always wins because it's an ecosystem and not a stand alone product. This is about as nice to own, rund and drive 2nd car as I can imagine for families. But if it's your main car - get the Tesla.

    • @DerekDavis213
      @DerekDavis213 Před 2 lety

      And if you are often road-tripping, a gasoline car totally wins versus any EV. It's not even close. 400 miles of range in 3 minutes, at 150 thousand plus gas stations in America.
      And Camry or Accord are superb cars that are much cheaper than Tesla too.

  • @Soh90
    @Soh90 Před 2 lety +1

    I like the EV6, but ultimately I ended up purchasing a Model Y Long Range. The KIA has one advantage, that is design. After that though, the Model Y is more efficient (I average about 245wh/miles), has better charging, and and I ordered mine with 3rd row seats and a tow hitch which nobody offers right now. Bottom line, the EV6 is a cool vehicle. But the Model Y is a better ELECTRIC vehicle. I like the Ionic 5 too. Overall, I could easily purchase any of the three (MY, EV6, or I5). The only one I wouldn’t consider is the Mach E which is really a letdown in my opinion.

      I think better is somewhat subjective. We ordered a model Y. Test drove it 5 times. It was cool, but we disliked a few things: ride was too bumpy on Michigan roads, glass roof doesn’t come with a shade (Tesla actually offers a manual one you can clip on, but reviews were mixed. We found the interior hot from lack of shade and the sun actually shone through over my wife’s sunglasses while she was driving her car), not much storage inside for wife to stow her purse (not a big glove box), no ventilated seats, and no ability to turn off passenger side air vents - if the air vents are on they’re on both sides. Also wasn’t sure about lack of buttons and using the screen for everything.
      It might sound nit picky, and obviously these things won’t bother a lot of people, but for us the EV6 addressed all of these issues so even though our model Y became available I ended declining and buying the EV6. The funny thing is I actually went to drive the EV6 because I figured I would not like it and it would make me realize how great the Y was.. the opposite ended up happening though! Both great cars in their own right.

      @@robwolfbrandt7741 The glass roof isn’t much of an issue for me. I may see north of 90° only eight or nine days out of the year. However you are right about the ride. The Hyundai/KIA products are very clearly products of a more mature car brand when you drive them. The Model Y tends to pogo back and forth on its front and rear suspension on big bumps. The EV6/I5 smooths everything out with one thump. Thankfully it appears the new M3/MY are getting softer springs. And yes the interior design and exterior design is very sparse. As a car nerd, aesthetically speaking, the MY is my least favorite car. But I strictly got it to be a work horse so design was pretty low on my list of priorities lol. My wife LOVES the Model Y. I merely like it. It checked all the boxes. And when we ordered it, it was still only $48,000 which was a a bargain.
      But I’m glad you got the EV6. The Korean sisters are some solid cars. The Ionic 5 I drove was a blast. Those are the kind of cars that you look back at after you park them. After I park my Model Y, I slam the door shut. Then my daughter slams her door shut, then we walk away lol. It’s an appliance. But a damn good one to be fair.

      Love your reply, and it makes complete sense! Wish I could have them both! Lol I’m actually on the preorder list for a Cybertruck (love it it hate it!) so a Tesla could still be in our future! And… who knows… over time as the cars change we could find ourselves in a model Y some day!

      No rear wiper but the shape of the rear and angle of the glass keeps it clean enough. Plus all of the cameras and sensors all around. I think it looks cleaner without the wiper.

      @@novax7514 The EV6 is really a nice car, we have 2 EV already (Nissan leaf 40Kwh and WV ID3 77Kwh) they work prefectly but the 77Kwh battery on the ID3 is wonderfull so this Kia EV6 is on our radar as a possible swap for the leaf if the price lower and i find to sell the leaf, just to increase range according to the fact that nissan don't do battery upgrades, but we always had a rear wiper on all our cars, it's a shame for this EV6 with all the cool features it have.

    Evie is just so insanely adorable.
    This review swayed my previous view of the vehicle. This vid was well done and engaging as usual. Build quality would detract from any Tesla for me. So the Korean twins or the MachE are where it's at. All things being equal I'd take the Ford.

      Mach E charging speed honestly takes it off the table for me unless they push a software update to improve it. But only roughly 160 kw/hr peak for 300 seconds per charging session. This means road tripping is a lot slower. If you only drive 50 mi a day and charge over night, it probably doesn't matter. But any longer trips and you'd really feel it.

    Oh....and one more thing. With these electric cars.....please just give us a traditional, reliable door handle. How much drag could they possibly create to justify the complex door handle design?

    Electric cars are cool and all but the problem is you can’t buy them. They just aren’t scaling production enough to where you can find one for MSRP. If I had a need for a second car I might consider a BEV, but for now it’s dinosaur juice for me.

    • @gs98999
      @gs98999 Před 2 lety

      Reason they aren’t scaling them is they require intensive mining and for example cobalt that comes from Congo is not the most ethically mined resource.
      I can see hard core environmentalists turn against the whole EV thing at some point just like they did against coal and oil
