A Character Ash Knows has Returned in Pokemon Horizons!

- We have our first returning character from a previous Pokemon anime in Horizons... And never in a million years would I have guessed who it would be!

I mean, it doesn't necessarily has to be the same guy. In the episode where Kiawe catches alolan marowak you can see three hiker npcs that look exactly the same.

Maybe these vendors are like mass produced somewhere in Kaminoan-like cloning vats like all of those Joys and Jennies are somewhere?
BUT they did return in the Sun and Moon series when Misty and Brock visited Alola and Ash already knew the same hiker triplets.
@@stalloneandrew9961 That is true but the same hiker who appeared in Horizons didnt mention Ash, so we still dont know if he is indeed the same Hiker in Journeys or not.
i say its fairly obvious that horizon takes place in the same universe of the previous series. when the anime ended Ash's final chapter story arc, the never ended the anime story as it left off as ' next time a new begining' instead of, 'the end'.
Even the galar train station shuttle is the same model used in pokemon journry's.
there's still no hard proof right now it is. they reuse models and such. New beginning can mean a whole new universe.

I mean, it could be a few years as adults don't change that much over a couple of years. To me, it confirms that Ash definetly isn't an adult yet and still fairly young. It also might be the case that the company just didn't care for aging the guy but I think it is more likely that this anime simply takes place shortly after the original.
I hope Ash and Pikachu are frozen in a time bubble and appear 1000 in the future with a robot companion and a distant relative as he travels the universe in part of a parcel delivery service while catching Pokemon on an intergalactic scale

We definitely need to wait to see other Gym Leaders or other big characters. Of course, it's possible this isn't even the same universe as the one Ash is from.
For the sake of being realistic, I'm not holding my breath for more. For all we know, this is probably a separate timeline from the original canon.

The guy definitely looked the same from Journeys. I definitely hope that we get a time skip that be couple of years like say 5 apart to see Ash finally age in the anime. (I’m still don’t buy the theory Journeys takes place 100 years after ash’s journey since we saw some of the Galar Gym Leaders appeared in Horizons that didn’t showed up in Journeys)

We know Pokemon does this. Ash fans jumping to conclusions out of desperation. There is no proof to back up that Horizons takes place in the same universe as Ash's story. Also, no proof this is the same guy.

You sure about that? Well, I can present proof.
At the end of Pokémon journeys, it said: “up next: new beginnings” meaning that this series is a continuation of the anime. Ashes journey may have ended, but the anime’s story continues.
On another note, it is VERY likely that ash will return. Pokémon isn’t gonna waist so much potential like that, now will they? They know that fans like service, and will bring back ash for an episode or two, or even as a recurring character to grab some old fans to watch the new show. There is no reason to not bring him back, and definitely lots of benefits from it. Did you think about it at all?

The new series plays out more like an actual anime with a set story, rather than the original series that had a POTW (person/Pokemon of the week) format that was basically just cookie cutter. Ash and company meet new person/Pokemon, they present them with a problem, Ash and company try and help out, Team Rocket comes to try and take Pikachu/new Pokemon, problem gets solved while dealing with Team Rocket. Or you have the few Gym episodes or Pokemon Leage Tournaments at the end. But Horizons actually has structure where every episode adds to the overarching plot.

honestly what i think will happen is that at the end of pokemon horizons as a whole we cut back to ash, but that's just my speculation. im sure they're planning to keep horizons going for a good while but probably not as much as the og anime but maybe a few seasons like maybe 6-7 seasons seems reasonable considering the direction they want to take things and they really are doing amazing.
