I’ve seen a few oil change videos……but your use of aluminum foil is GENIUS ! Iam impressed. Simple idea….works great ! Thanks. I’ll be using your idea.
Nice service tutorial. I like your trick with the aluminium foil for the oil filter. The construction is quite similar to my Beta Alp 200. And I need to do an oil/filter change in spring. Thanks from Nürnberg/Germany, Günter PS: Hope you find more suscribers. Your channel is underrated! The CRF models are quite popular in Germany, Honda never has enough of them, delivery times are long.
Thank you for your kind words. 😀 in fact I never thought I had so many subscribers as I do not do this to earn money or subscribers but to have memories, friends and to help someone with my info. Thank you again !
I recently changed oil and filter on my 2023 Honda CRF300L and attempted to torque oil filter cover bolts to 7 f😢t lbs and drain bolt to 18 ft lbs using a 1/4 inch drive calibrated clicking torque wrench. All bolts reached a hard stop before reaching torque value and it was clear that forcing bolts to specified torque value would have stretched, broken, stripped threads, or damaged engine case so I did not pursue a tighter bolt condition. A visit to my Honda Motorcycle Dealer confirmed my snugging up of bolts to a hard stop was more prudent than attempting to reach torque spec. At any rate, I have no oil leaks and bolts remain tight. I submit this finding hopefully to get feedback from all about their experience torquing to Honda’s spec. I am inclined to believe it may be wrong.
Hello Charles, Thas is an interesting experience. To be honest mine just torqued to the set value and I did not feel any hard stop before it. But I will tell my CRF buddies. Thank you
Hi. Very very good and, at the same time, very simple and cheap using a piece of aluminium sheet in order to not dirt the frame! Very useful idea. Than a question: what mark is the attachment of the rear top case? It seems not to be a Givi one. Thank you very much in advance. P.S.: i have read on the label of Honda oil that this oil is a '' synthetic based'' oil. So not 100% synthetic (and it's normal on this kind of bikes). I think there is no problem to use the Motul 5100 10W-40 (also ''synthetic based''). The only difference is that it is a little bit more thick...but not so much more.
I never actually use toque settings ( only for head and engine internals ) for the past 40 years and never had an issue. But I do understand some people are heavy handed ( you didn’t say how much oil the 300 held

Great Video. For the final check, I let the bike stand on its wheels and just feel the balance. I think it's the most accurate way to see the Oil level.
@@DragosRDS It is an agent that you pour into the engine before changing the oil, the engine runs on rinse and old oil for approx. 10/15 minutes. Then you drain the old oil and pour in the new one. An example is the product Liqui Moly 1581.

@@DragosRDS Thank you!
Is this the only thing that you need to do for the 1000 km service or did you bring it back to the honda dealer for more advanced stuff?
First service only oil and filter. I follow the manual and there it is written what it needs to be checked each interval
Funny …. you have the exact sakes bikes as me !
My dealer told me today to change the oil and adjusted the valves at 100 miles or 20 hours?
adjust the valves at 20hr? Do you have a top racing KTM? :))

Does it say somewhere on that motor oil package if it is fully synthetic, half synthetic or mineral oil?
Hello I need to check, I will get back
@@DragosRDS Thanks
I don't have wrench torque, an is not a problem if you know how apply the torque, never I have had problems .
Well, what can I say, I would not use hand force on the engine case. I don't have that kind if controll :)
From where did you get the torque specifications? Thanks
From the service manual. Thank you for watching
Thanks.
From where can I acquire a service manual please?
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165993937139
at how many km do you plan the second oil change?
I will change again at 8000 km

What are the torque specs?
Minute 3.47, I say it there
I chaged 300-500-800-1000. Don’t sure if i right

When did u do the valves?
I did not yet, but please follow the service manual
Thanks!
The drain plug should not be put back until you replace the oil filter
Thanks, next time I will do like that !
Why?
I think he sugested that to allow all the oil to drain
It is a pity that you did not make the engine scrub .....
