    What a life she lived, her story would make a great tv series. I don’t think you could squeeze it into a movie.

    • @theseyi
      @theseyi Před 3 měsíci

      So to clear this up, the actor is NOT the direct grandson of Alfred Dreyfus. He stated that he grew up *thinking* he was, but he’s not. His grandfather is a different man, named Alexander Sussman Dreyfuss (only grandfather named Dreyfuss, of course). His last name is even spelled different.

    I don’t believe she was “devastated” at the death of her father. He protected and indulged
    her allowing her to do as she pleased. She certainly couldn’t have made her father proud. She was a user and used her father like her entire life.

    • @primesspct2
      @primesspct2 Před 3 měsíci +1

      That is pretty much how it reads from here. LOL However, I don't know her motives, life or childhood, Women seemed to have very little power back then. Perhaps its where the expression "using her feminine wiles" comes from? She most certainly had these wiles, flitting from man to man whilst being married the whole time. What about that murder? Was there life insurance, or did she simply desire financial autonomy, Did one or both of them have evidence against her in the "Dreyfus affair" She would have been the perfect person to pass government documents.
      I marvel at the difference in what "beauty" is considered, from epoch to epoch.

You mentioned that Marguerite died in Hove and observed that this is on 'The English Riviera'. In fact this term applies to the area around Torquay on the South West Coast, Hove is close to Brighton on the South East coast.

    Maybe the daughter did it. And she was covering for her kid. If a married couple falls out soon after the birth of a child in that era, and then the mother turns to being a kept woman to get by…inferences can be made. 🤷‍♂️ whoever wrote the Wikipedia article about her says her account of the 4 robbers was “one female and three males.” Her daughter would have been 17 at the time…

Just hearing how people reacted and behaved back then, what was considered everyday, how women actually became popular for being..overly accommodating compared to today, it really is quite fascinating.
