Sony is just mad that Helldivers 2 is doing better than other AAA games
Tinfoil Hat Time:
Its a purposeful action, to deny a Precedent of a Live Service Game being financially and Reputationally successful by dropping all the bad faith "ideas" those suits made that got a business model so reviled (the Live Service Game one)
so what happened? didnt realize HD2 was going to be a huge success and now they want to cash in by making people using shitty psn accounts? Corpos must be made to pay a price for their scumbaggery
The reason why they're doing this is to inflate psn account numbers for the shareholders meeting in june
I think the reason why is too inflate the PSN account numbers for the shareholders meeting in june
TRUE!!!
Sony: "You know what we should do? Kill the game that caused us to earn millions."
So we can get helldivers 3
How is it killing it lol? Jus make a simple account that takes 5 minutes and free lol yâall so god damn dramatic đ±
â@@josephoakes2686 except Sony gets hacked every five goddamn minutes, and the only reason they want this is to scrape data from thousands, force us to sign TOS that allow them to do weird shit with our data and expand what they collect, and it's a move solely for the benefit of shareholders and not the devs or the community. Don't come in here and shill for billionaires when you have zero concept of what the problem is. "Dramatic." You're a child.
@@josephoakes2686oh yeah? Tell that to the players who *literally canât because itâs not allowed in their country*
@@The_Artist_Officiala true Helldiver would move to another country.
Sony claims it's to "protect our customers and their data".
1. I'm not your customer, I'm AH's customer.
2. You have zero info on me but I have to give you the info you say needs to be "protected" to make account.
....Makes zero sense to hard require an entire new account. It's to twist data to present to investors.
Not to put a point on it too hard but when you buy from a non self published developer you become a customer for both.
Every single online multiplayer game requires account creation now. Get over it. This isn't a new thing ffs, go play single player games
@@MuertaEterna And my account already exists to play the game. Literally zero reason to force creating a second, irrelevant, account that does nothing but pads sony stats. Stop brown nosing the corpos.
@@MuertaEterna And that account already exists. Still zero reason to threaten to lock people out of a game they bought just st pad their number. Stop defending awful moves by big companies.
Sony just wants all those PC player's information so they can boost their marketing numbers and puff up their PSN network user numbers for their share holders. Has nothing to do with HD other than it is an absolutely amazing game and Sony is trying to maximize their leaching.
Dont forget they also want to be able to ban you for profanity, disparaging playstation, and spy on your chat logs and voice chats. Yes, that's all in their TOS that they can do that, and much more.
Shareholders are like ticks - leech on blood + give cancer or Boreliosis if you want to be more specific :D
AGREED. Because PSN wasnt a requirement at launch and there was no mention about a time limit to create a link to it!
Every major publisher does this. Ubisoft, EA, Rockstar, Capcom, Microsoft, etc all have separate logins when you play their multiplayer games. Sony just disabled the requirement a few days after launch to help with all the server issues. The people in unsupported regions have a legitimate gripe, but the majority of complaints are coming from people in regions that are supported. This is just making a big deal out of a minor, common inconvenience.
â@@samqualls13391000% this. But everyone wants to be overdramatic.
The difference is most companies do not allow hackers to breach their security. Depending on what wording Sony changed they could be held legally liable for fraud.
thats just flat out false. all sorts of companies suffer security breaches every single day. sony isnt the only one, but theyre definitely one of the higher profile companies that have had breaches, along with microsoft, capital one, equifax, jpmorgan...the list goes on and on. anybody that wants to puff out their chest and say sony has had issues with security better have an issue with damn near every other company they deal with for every other aspect of their lives too then. its an absolutely moot point, period.
However, this ends. I do hope the games doesn't die out. I honestly dont think that this is anything new in the industry but it's still annoying as hell
Already filed a refund because this change will literally ban three out of the five friends i regularly used to dive with. All this so that some corpo suit at Sony can have higher monthly active users on Playstation Network numbers for the end of the fiscal year.
RIP to my Helldivers 2 career, it was a game nothing short of awesome
@@Jukantosmay I ask why ur friends will be banned??
We will lose about 98k players. This sucks.
Not tryna take any side, Iâm new to all this happening and not sure whats going on tbh
Why wouldnât they have not t made this mandatory on day 1, other than I guess sales, so yeah dumb question.
Sony wants your data. They give zero Fâs about the game.
They want your subs to show shareholders. Everyone has your data already.
They want neither. They want to retain the ability to ban anyone caught doing anything sketchy. That's it. That's literally it. â@@resignator
want our data huh? just like automoto- oh fuck...
@@MuertaEterna no it isnt, you are white-knighting for Sony here. Ir is about keeping those sub numbers up cause they been hemorrhaging subs thanks to the Stellar Blade censorship fiasco where the players WERE PROMISED an UNCENSORED game NO MATTER WHAT COUNTRY HE OR SHE LIVES IN only to censor it a few days before the game's launch cause Sony capitulated to the games "journalists" who get offended over LITERALLY EVERYTHING and also the weird double standard where it is anything goes in M-rated games in the West and not so much when it comes to games made in the East. This is why people hate console fanboys like you. You defend Sony when they are the ones who are out here making bad decisions. Don't defend companies when they do stupid s***, it just makes you look bad,
Player bases already dipped 50K within the last few days. And that's just on average that I've noticed
And the reviews have dropped to mostly negative
@@bouncybubble yeah I saw that. This Shit's nuts
Yeah we will lose probably 100k players. The story will not be the same.
@@coolichka42 yeah, unless they severely change the planetary numbers of how fastly the enemies take over and we take over then 100% agreed
yeah, player count isn't looking good atm, especially for a weekend. Plus, if this doesn't get reversed, it's not only gonna stunt new players coming in, but once you hit the hard limit, all the people who just wanted to enjoy the game as long as they could before it happened, are gonna drop off all at once.
The answer to this is literally just leave it optional. That's it. Problem solved. đ€đ€
Yup, leave it optional but offer some in-game incentive/rewards to encourage players to link.
Leave it optional and give players a cool cape and armor for signing up. Problem solved.
Make it optional. Those who sign up can do cross play. Those who donât just canât use the cross play feature.
Then noone is gonna do it and Sony cannot brag to its shareholders how they gained millions of new active users.
I agree. Leave it optional. I personally would also have no problem accepting not having access to cross play if I don't link my account. That's the best compromise I can think of that doesn't feel unfair
The devs dont deserve the disrespect there getting when they have ben nothing but respectful to us.
Nothing but respectful? đ€Łđ€Ł. Are you a new player?
you just start playing yesterday or...?
â@@mysterious___1How have they been disrespectful?
â@@Usoland0Sounds like You're the new one to the game
Devs are awesome.
Maybe some of the CMs are juvenile. CEO is consistently frank and honest. Theyre doing the best they can with the crap sandwich Sony just handed them
I want Helldivers 2 to live on, this game has made gaming fun again for me. Every AAA title the past several years has made me hate gaming. Itâs the worst feeling ever when you used to be one of the best players in games like COD BO1-3 then college hits and you take a mandatory break from games for 4ish years just to comeback and EBMM makes you feel like you're terrible. Not to mention going from winning cash tournaments in Fortnite, and then my skill base match making thinks Iâm that good 4 years later. Every time I play with friends, they get pissed at me and makes me feel like Iâve let my friends down. Over a worthless game. I almost stopped shooters games entirely, but Helldivers 2 came out and my bf wanted me to give it a shot. I watched the trailer it made me feel inspired, I played the tutorial, and it gave me a few laughs, I played a few games and fell in love with it. I started watching your videos because it made me feel like I was actually being a contributing part of the community. It made me feel like I was actually doing good for a group of people, where my friends would yell at me every time I messed up in other games. The toxic nature of games was finally being healed and it was healing my sour taste for shooter games.
The last thing I want is people being toxic to the devs of a wonderful community they built, from a horrible decision they didnât make. I donât want the community to die from this, itâs liberated me from feeling worthless at games. If this game dies from this decision I feel itâll ruin my love for gaming entirely. I donât want any part of games with this much toxicity in the environment of gamers.
I love this game and I want it to heal from this. I hate seeing all my friends giving it negative reviews making it feel like Iâll never play with them on this game ever again. I just want to enjoy the game with friends and have fun again.
Thatâs enough for my rant Iâve just been extremely sad since all the hate started after the Sonyâs divine intervention, if you can call it that, (more like hells gates opening its mouth to devour a peaceful community). To the point my entire weekend has been ruined by the news and uproar. I just want to go back to squashing bugs đ đ đ and spill automaton oil đ€. Much love to the hard-working devs that are getting heat they donât deserve. I hope the talks leads to a decision that the community will be happy with. And weâll all be on the same side again.
At this point I doubt this disaster can be turned around. Helldivers went to the top of the sales charts BECAUSE OF PC PLAYERS. Sony's greed is going to shoot themselves in their own feet. First Stellar Blade and now this. They're idiots. It's almost like they're undemocratic automatons. đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€
I think Helldivers can turn it around, if they get this change reversed. Arrowhead can throw Sony under the bus, and claim it was all their fault, and set themselves up as the dev that fought against the big corpo for their players sake. Plus the game is good, which means people will be more willing to forgive.
@@umngyryea but then they will get sued because they are signed to Sony and they technically own their game most likely how they dumped a bunch of money in their game for them
you guys are overreacting. 90% of people just play the game cuz they like it and wont stop playing because they need to make a account. I also highly dissaprove of what sony is doing but it isnt going to "kill" the game
Sony also censoring a physical art book for a game, but it's even wilder that NINTENDO of all isn't gonna censor the switch version of the game
@@qwerty10384I think youâre underestimating sweaty gamers my dude.
A cosmetic reward for account linking is going to result in teamkilling to no tomorrow. You know all the anti-PSN people (the majority of the playerbase) are going to TK people wearing this cosmetic, so this is a terrible idea.
Was thinking the same if they didn't make it manditory in the first place to link accounts and just given some armor to people who did as an incentive it would not have been this bad. Now you will be seen as a traitor and be TK'ed very fast or even just kicked from the game if you enter the hanger.
I agree
Damn right I am
Why anyone should get a cosmetic or anything just for linking their account is stupid asf.
True if they were smart they'd make this reward SC and not some item that's just going to a reminder of failure. Who would even want to rep this situation with a Cape or whatever.
Itâs wild how all this shit has happened over like 3 days, but Iâm happy that arrowhead is actively trying their best to work out a solution
đ€ The only bad thing about the game is that Sony (corporate) is trying to stick their fingers in it.
What is Sony doing itâs mind boggling
No
It really isnât.
It is just simple evil and greed.
Nothing hard to understand about it.
Sony wants to appease shareholders cuz hahaaaa MONEY
According to twitter leaks AH wanted the psn link.
No consoles are doing great right now and SOnY just saw a golden goose get a few million players they (currently) have ZERO influence (or monetisation control of their transactions/personal data) over having fun on PC.
As a plebeian console tyrant they could not in good faith allow their sheeple to see that the grass is not only greener outside the shadow of their âpay monthly to play online gamesâ overlords but itâs also faster patching, has better support, superior controls AND half their back catalogue is available as after they suffocated multiple developers they pit their games into PC out of desperation or as a test bed.
8:24 if you make an exception for the guys who can't make a PSN account then make an exception for everyone who doesn't want to make one too. That's my two cents about it
just get rid of cross play that is the solution. fuk em
Agreed: example - if you link accounts, you can play cross platform; if you don't you can only play with PC gamers. That would solve a lot of issues, but it will still be hard to swallow for those of us with large friends lists covering both player-bases. But I'd rather have half my friends list disappear than my personal data be given to Sony.
Sony is wack for this. I enjoyed playing with all the pc people.
They could always just drop their PSN requirement and this could have been but a small pebble in the road, I trust Sony with my info as much as I trust a wet fart after a KFC in a sauna.
Steam had data breeches too
This was beautifully written
@@Dave_Langer I get that but another layer for data loss is not really needed, it's Sony trying to inflate numbers and neither Arrow Head or the player base needs to deal with this.
@@Dave_Langer So you should just give your data to everyone. Why not post your credit card information?
@@Rowdy_Raider Sony does not need to inflate their numbers.
I respect the developers, it is hard to get a game out and I know they need the financial support of a publisher to make a game. We don't trust Sony for two reasons, they have a history of losing people's info and two they are talking about adding ai controlled censoring that will listen to what you say and flag you even if no one complains. I had in the past added the emoji for the giveaway, I had friends who I wanted to have the game if I could get a copy. Not now until Sony backs off.
đ€ I always thought we'll have a new faction joining the Galactic War, I just didn't expect to be an Evil Corporation that is trying to divide and destroy the peaceful Super Earth population from within. đ€
Buddy Super Earth is corporate controlled. That was the whole joke.
Bugs? Smush them.
Bots? Break them.
Sony? *ptsd helldiver stare*
Pease consider this when you say that we are already sharing our information everywhere, yes that is true most people have Amazon, Netflix and other accounts and sharing info however Sony has had like 6 Data Breaches in like the last 10 years which is not true of the others so some people might be hesitant to share even an email to a company like that because a single email could expose a myriad of account not related to Sony unless they make a burner account for that. While other companies do require accounts like say Minecraft needing Xbox, they required that up front and not months into the game life. I say this as someone who has the PSN linked because I wanted to make it easier to play with Friends.
Dude people that make the "I dOnT unDERsTand wHy eVerYonEs sO maD abouT shARing thEIR iNfO" argument are such cucks. 100 percent sony is a terrible company to give your data to.
The whole you already share everything with all these people what's one more is such a bad take. I don't get those ppl
Sony gonna get sued
Highly doubtful.
POV: You live in the EU and you purchased a product months ago and now they make it impossible for you to use the product bought. Tell me how that is okay. And I'm saying EU because we have laws protecting costumers and we are sort of serious about data protection.
@@Darkeus1 Class action lawsuit already in the making.
POV: You were promoted a dialog which informed you that PSN account is required but you quickly pressed skip without reading
@@ljeskaa Those tricks wont save them. They should have tied the option for purchase to an account than, but they were to greedy and have a big passion for censorship.
What I'm hearing is we need to contact our legislators and advocate for trust busting Monopoly busting laws again.
Seems like it... It already breaks the EU's laws on "Customer's protection" section. ;)
You should say the same about activation and ea
@@MrPetelutinitali I was generalizing. I despise all anarcho capitalists equally.
I'm on PS , so this doesn't affect me personally , but these community managers everywhere really need to learn their snark helps nothing and nobody . If your job duties or responsibilities upset you find a new one . Not the first time Spitz has been caught w foot in mouth.
Honestly, he made people mad and caused review bombing on Steam. This is giving Arrowhead leverage in discussions with Sony.
He went over and made a comment that wasn't helpful with the situation at all? Sure he did, but after some thinking he expressed that he was on the wrong and that people should keep with the reviews so that they have more to discuss with Sony.
This was forced on Arrowhead just like everyone else. His frustration, while not professional is founded in love for the game I am sure. I'd be pissed and snarky too.
and this most definitely affects you. if this problem isn't remedied, you'll lose a third of the player, the in-game story won't be the same, won't be as challenging, won't be as exciting. it'll be harder at times to find pugs. ppls' morale will be lowered, the role play reduced, reducing the over fun. this in turn will cause others to abandon the game, further reducing players. soon, others will believe the game is dying and not want to be on the sinking ship, so they'll look to where everyone else is also playing. they'll migrate over there and also abandon hd2. pretty soon, youll be all alone inside a dead game. I've seen it before. I've even been the last man standing in an empty game world before. it happens faster than you think and it's surreal.
the one significant time I can recall was at the height of star wars galaxies. I was so obsessed w the game, I had bought a year's subscription, confident I wasn't going anywhere. then the famous patch came, changed the entire game, the players hated it and left. I could have gotten a refund, but I alrdy paid, I ddnt think it would get that bad, so I stayed. and before that year subscription was even up... there was no one inside but me, running around an empty galaxy w nothing but npcs. this was an mmo btw if you ddnt know. the game killing patch was ordered from the publisher. know who that publisher was?
sony
we've been here before. another online multi planet scifi title raging in popularity, and then sony steps in, and fucks everything up. if this isn't course corrected, it won't end well for hd2. and it will most def affect every player, including you.
His apology was a non-apology but reading this comments it could be that he was playing the bad guy in order to draw people to comolain using steam, who knows but regardless they should do better responses and buff to the weapons, asking for a weapon to be better should not be answer back with "get gud"
Iâve been eyeing a ps5 for so long but now I sure as shit wonât be supporting Sony
ME TOO, ITS OUT THE WINDOW FOR ME.
Never support Sony - who famous for being greedy and dishonest.
Same, was going to get a ps5 to play stellar blade and they censored that. Was going to do Elden ring while I was at it as well but nah, Iâm good now.
Buy a Steam Deck instead. đ
Lol i was doing the same i had plans to buy a ps5 for the new upcoming GTA, and the Ps5 Pro version would probably launch around then... now im thinking of buying an X-Box lol.
The CMs were a known liability before this issue.
DURING this issue they have been disrespectful, aggressive, dismissive and generally poorly mannered despite REPRESENTING the COMPANY THEY WORK FOR.
Some customers may be revolting. But the paid customer facing employees are specifically there to keep things professional.
Well said, CM Baconator's (baskinator) political views being forced into the community are annoying as well!
This whole situation just sucks, I play on Playstation but I'm no fan boy, they really, REALLY screwed up with this. I'm glad they got caught with switching their words up and I hope they just reverse this whole thing. Helldivers is an amazing game and I would love it if everyone got to play it and kept playing it. Much love to the Devs and I hope this all works out in the end for the better. đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€đ€
Giving people armor for connecting their PSN account is a terrible idea
We already had people griefing people with the Creek cape and the UN armor. There is no way anyone wearing PSN armor won't get team killed.
Most of this community is great, but we have already seen people take things a little too far before. So there is that.
True words, but first we have to stop SONY at what they are doing. Dont get me wrong, but its only count as a "reward" if you choose to link it and not being forced into it.
But yeah, i guess we will have to worry about that later. đ
I had literally no one greifing me for wearing the cape haha never even ran into a person who did that luckily
@taida_9105 That's fair. If you don't link, you won't have it. At least if they don't give it to PS5 players.
I get being frustrated about this, especially if it removes your access to the game. I just think there is always a chunk of people who don't know how to channel that frustration in healthy or meaningful ways.
Even those attacking the devs in Discord are just hurting the message.
@@finklejinks I just read an update that had the devs say âI assure you people in countries without PSN will not be locked out of the game and we will find a way for those players to work around the sign in without breaching Sony blah blah blah.â Cause I know these guys are people too, no one likes when everyone hates them.

Spitz is the one "who throw grenade to player"
if they can make exceptions for non-regions, they can make exceptions for everyone.
Didnât spitz tell members of the community to refund and get out of the community if they disagree at all with the current state of things? Thatâs not how you treat the people youâre begging to stay so they can regain your trust.
Spitz is an ass itâs that simple, sucks that he canât be fired cause of Swedish labor laws

That is the stupidest argument I've heard from people defending this bullshit and cloud
This is a round about way for Sony to punish Arrowhead for not putting identity capes in.
I play on ps and was looking to get it on pc so i can play on my ally but theres no cross platform progression? Whats the point linking accounts i dont get it?
any special armor given for linking acounds will cause major mobbing in the game for players that will wear it. It was already quite the fiasco with the automaton cape. can only image what will happen with sony swag
If we have friendly fire im gona use friendly fire.

That Sony website text change, and the timing of it, proves they've been watching and aware of what's been happening the whole time.
While committing a non-consensual-sex-act on all of us, they tried to change the rules in order to legitimize said non-consensual-sex-act.

If this account linking does go through expect sony to flood helldivers 2 with microtransactions and they will take out the super credits that are earned in the missions while upping the price of super credits bought with money.
The problem is that some of the CMs *DID NOT* educated themselves (or the company did not educate the team) about the full impact, and then the CMs got testy. That isn't OK as the face of the company. This is certainly going to produce some lessons, as *some* of the damage was self-inflicted.

The real final boss of helldivers is just fucking sony. đ
Cancel these mf if you want future in gaming!
I absolutely do NOT believe that Sony planned this, and I DEFINITELY DONâT BELIEVE that Arrowhead knew about this.
I think there might be more going on behind the scenes that we know.
Heck, I think that Sony might be, âpunishing,â Arrowhead for something. Maybe AH refused to put in some CERTAIN FLAGS. Or maybe AH refused something that Sony had wanted to put into Helldivers.
I just donât think that Sony would just change their minds about something like this out of the blue.
If we think about this from a numbers and business standpoint, it makes ZERO sense. Some people may say that Sony is doing this for their shareholders, but that isnât necessarily how shareholding works.
As long as the company is making money from a project, (enough to support a justification for said project), then shareholders USUALLY not care. (Unless it is Disney).
But hereâs the kicker. Nobody has any proof that this is politically motivated. And it is most certainly not monetary motivated.
No, I really do think that AH did something to PO Sony.
I guess weâll just have to see where this goes.
May the 4th be with yâall.
no arrowhead got too greedy raking in money.. in no way did they have nO IDEA the linking would eventually need ot be PERM.. OF COURSE they di moron. open your eyes
Y'all fighting against sony?
But arrowhead signed the contract and took the moneyđ and they dont know what happend or why..... aight
They also need to learn how to read agreements.

@@Luciusthestorms damnzz that's evil if it's tru
Okay. Here's my issue.
How do I even tell if I'm linked? there's no way in game to tell. there's no way on psn to tell. There's no way on steam to tell.
Psn allows for linking with 4 apps. NONE OF THEM ARE STEAM. its youtube, spotify, apple music and discord.
Das It Mayne!
Am I missing something? After that one time 'give us your info pree' notice when you first started the game, that the devs admitted was BROKEN at the time and disabled - there have been no prompts or way to get back to that window. there are people who say they linked it, that it said it was linked, like myself - and can find no definitive proof ANYWHERE, that confirms that.
WHICH, if this is such a big friggin deal to do - Like Sony is making a huge fuss over this - YOU WOULD THINK it would be made more clear right?! Like - honestly, if I'm missing something, please let me know. How in the hell am I supposed to know if my accounts are linked or not? What am I missing here?
Well simply you can't see it. Devs need to build something into the game that see if it is linked.
If playstation players need a playstation subscription to play helldivers 2 online, if sony has access to all the linked steam accounts, how long would it be before steam players need to have a paid playstation subscription to play online ???

Why is it Sony's fault that Arrowhead couldn't implement the accout linking for release?
It's not like they signed the deal with Sony a day before the game came out.
People who don't have PSN in their country or don't want to create a Sony account could have asked for a refund and this wouldn't have happened in the first place.. but it wasn't and most people didn't even knew about this until now.
Okay tell me why linking up with psn is so important to have all this bs come down? Its like grasping a turd to get a piece of half digested corn if you ask me.
@@etvon32 because sony wants you to.. it looks good in their reports that ppl signing up and engaging with their services. The account linking was supposed to be mandatory from day one but Arrowhed had issues with implementing this feature.
More importantly, WHY 3 MONTHS later is it if any relevance as to if people have a PSN account or not?
This is a newly FORCED chance by a console company trying to take control of a game in PC customers libraries.
If we wanted anything to do with SOnY we would have bought is on a Piss5.
@@IRMentat look, AH signed a deal with Sony. The linking was supposed to be mandatory from day 1 but AH had issues implementing the feature so they left it optional for the time being. Now Sony got fed up waiting for AH to fix this and forcing ppl to make a PSN account so they have a bunch of new people engaging with their shitty services. Even AH devs acknowledged that the linking was supposed to be there but they couldn't fix it in time.
This whole 'Spitz' is sewage, not a human. His moves are below the belt. Why should I have respect for such a person? The answer is simple: I don't have to, because the country I live in allows me to express what I want in written form.
I feel like the best way to support AH right now is to start playing Helldivers 1 en masse. Everyone who isn't signed up/going to sign up for psn just start playing Helldivers 1. Since that's set 100 years before HD2, it'll REALLY fuck with the timeline.
The problem is their excuse for it is to "protect" us from "griefing and abuse"... as if thats their job. It gives them a level of control over the consumer that these companies shouldn't be allowed to have. Plus, if having the account isn't a big deal, then neither should not having it. It's sad that people get upset about this kind of stuff but never really seem to understand the real problem.
All i want for christmas is a refund
L
Bro saying that then you better not fire up the game again haha like in two weeks when they drop the illuminate, I hope all these people stick to their word haha
@@givenchymamajama3859your entire existence is an L.
@@KenobiStark1 i am sticking to my word already requested in total 15 refund requests
â@@Terge_1why did you accept the user's agreement if you weren't in agreement with it?
Something to keep in mind, the devs donât have the authority to make these types of decisions. They have artistic and technical leeway, but when it comes to a business decision that typically between legal, and the upper management.
Iâm sure Jonaan is just navigating within what ever agreement that was signed between them and Sony. I wish Sony would go pound sand like Nintendo, but them Japanese lawyers are feisty. Iâm sure we wonât see any future change of course, but the vocal folk are appreciated.
Iâm guessing the FAQ was also changed because ghost of Tsushima will also have the psn linking requirement if you wanna play the online legends mode
I feel so much for the studio in this because they have been nothing but great to us during the entire endeavor. They do not deserve any of the hate that is thrown their way because they have been so good about being upfront and honest with us unlike other game devs đ€
Thank you for protecting ArrowHead. They are not the bad guys here. Snoy=đ€
2:54 that sucks, breaking the gate with a stratagem đ
Thanks cloud đđȘđ€
thank you so much for continuing to inform us I hope this gets resolved. It seems like arrowhead is being put in a corner by Sony and we really should probably be focusing more on that issue đ€
Hate when large companies forget who they are in business for and how important that relationship should be. đ€đ€
Spitz sounds like an amazing person to work for defending his team like that đ€đ€đ€đ€
I disagree with the notion that AH take 0 blame, they signed the contract with Sony before the game launched, they always knew this was going to happen.
If they did something simple like making it optional and giving 250 super creds for linking, or even that special unique cosmetic they talked about, I think a lot of people would have done it, myself included
This won't kill the game, people will keep playing and make a psn account if they can in their country, if not then that sucks, but that's life. đ€
Just wait until Sony discovers you can earn in-game currency without having to purchase super credits.
its not only about access to the game, or sharing information with sony...its about HD2 having a "hacking protection program" that grants it unlimited access to ur pc, simply sharing information, and giving sony full view over what and when and how u spend ur time on pc is totally ditterent
I simply just don't want to create an account for a service that offers me no benefits and would probably cause me more troubles.
Saying you don't want to share your info with certain companies isnt necessarily a cop-out. Some companies are especially bad with being hacked (Target in the US for example) or with selling and using your information illegally (Facebook / meta for example).
They claw at everything with their corporate hands, insatiable and unyielding. But we, fellow HELLDIVERS, stand ready! This battle has only just ignited, and our resolve burns brighter than ever. This game, this beacon of community-driven legacy, owes its existence to those who stand firm. UNITED, we raise our voices, our defiance echoing across the digital expanse. WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED! #HD2LEGIONâ đ„đđ
Arrow head created a strong community and we stand together. I donât know how to make a petition but if someone has share it with us.
Stellar Blade fans & fellow Helldivers are all in this together to stop the tyranny that is Sony. Let your voices & wallets be heard so that we can get back these great games as they were originally intended to be.
Thanks for covering this! đ€
My biggest concern isnt so much sharing my data, but rather Sonys track record of handling user data...
Thanks for the coverage. đ€
The whole Spitz deal really chaps my hide
I think the main thing is, how many times has Sony been hacked compared to Google and Amazon? Giving out you data can be concerning when the company has had many data breaches.
I commend you for your quality take and accurate assessment of this situation. Spot on.
Sony shooting themselves in the foot as always. Don't fuck with the Helldivers. đ€
This whole situation confuses me because when I first played the game about a month ago it forced me to connect my PSN account then. When I asked my friends, who had been playing a week longer than myself, they said it forced them too. But people are saying it was optional then.
Either way if it was optional and now isn't that is not right for the people who bought the game under the impression it wasn't required and its even worse that is was sold in regions where PSN isn't even available. That is 100% messed up. It's sounds like Sony strong armed AH. đ€
I believe fully that the damage was done 75% by Sony and 25% by arrowheadâs games community managers if they didnât do that 25% I wouldnât even be complaining about them but theyâre over here making that percentage go up from 25, 2627 eventually itâs going to be equal 50-50 Sony sucks. Arrowhead sucks if they do not manage better Like talking about making a cosmetic item for you linking your account that shouldâve been already done before I had to leave my account
I believe arrowhead can fix this and then their game will go back to normal, but I do not ever think it will get better. I will not be playing until things get fixed.
Really hope the situation gets sorted out. Regardless I will keep playing cuz I'm very hooked up at the moment đ€
They think they're hitting Sony with the airstrike, and only getting Arrowhead with the splash damage. They don't realize it's the opposite.
On a completely unrelated note, how flammable do you think Jim Ryan's house is?
use the cumbustible lemons!
People just don't know what are they signing up for... It was explained that you are requested an account with Sony and you would skip it, now they want to gather more users, nothing bad on it... it's wrong from users where they're not allowed to create an account and they really deserve a solution.
Some people are just being selfless and fighting against something they agreed on.
Those saying this isn't new, that's not the point. We're annoyed because it is commonplace. It shouldn't be, it is. We don't want it.
I was bullied and made fun of in school. one day my dad told me why are you mad? I said because people are saying bad things about me. He said if it's not true do not get upset. That only make what they say seem true. Spits only made them look guilty for his reaction.
Edit: the Review situation has tanked since you made this vid - it's now 29% positive within last 30 days. It's now MIXED overall since launch. It's getting worse.
Sony have a dire track record of keeping customers' data secure. Hard. F'ing. Pass.
Also, I'm infuriated about them selling the game to anyone, anywhere, then turning round and placing a gate that only 60-70 countries can walk through. That's scummy in the extreme.
If it was "Link to PSN to play with PS players, but if you DON'T link you can only play with PC players" I'd say nothing much. Half my friends list would be locked out, but hey ho... they'd not be requesting me to as much as post my personal details up on their next to totally open and accessible systems for anyone to peruse at leisure, nor would they be giving the shaft to people in "Non-PSN Allowed" nations.
I feel like they've probably been fighting Sony on this for a while. I highly doubt it took 3 months to get account linking working. Sony won't budge, so they announce its mandatory, signed by Sony, and wait for the backlash, hoping it will be enough to convince Sony they screwed up. Sony probably didn't care that much about the PSN accounts because even the devs didn't expect their own game to be the hit it was. The game was a hit and now Sony wants their psn numbers to go up because it looks good in board meetings.
