MODOK was so promising until Darren's face shows up.
I could’ve forgiven it if his facial expression wasn’t so… easygoing. How about a permanent scowl? Show that you’re not taking this irreversible change to your life in stride, especially not while chasing the guy whose fault it was.

Honestly I agree, the first half of this scene was really cool I was like “okay we may have something pretty interesting here, I dig it” … then the face reveal… it just looks so… off and not in the “HA HA look how ridiculous this is, HAHAHA” way

Yeah… if they insisted on keeping the face pristine, at least have it scowl. He seems too relaxed and easy-going for someone talking to the guy who _utterly tore apart his life._

i understand that blowing up Darren's face into a dumpy giant melon looks incredibly silly,...............but its not like MODOK itself wasn't looking silly. Its litterally a giant head....with robot arms and sits on a jetpack. They're just being "faithful" to the comics. Isn't that what all the nerd ragers want?
But if they redesign them, then the movie would be accused of not sticking to MODOK's original design. But to stick with MODOK's original design means blowing up a head. So whats it gonna be.............Ant Man?

Well, I guess we know how he ended up just a giant(-ish) head with stubby limbs... he didn't shrink _evenly_ when he got banished to the Quantum Realm, one of his arms collapsed first before the others, then the rest of him...
I appreciate the comic accuracy, but it would’ve been better if the face was more disfigured and they kept his identity hidden until closer to the climax.
Otherwise I liked this version.
I hope they save his brain like in the comics and bring him back.
I would say he's decent. Not the greatest, nor the worst, but decent. MODOK is sometimes bald, and yet they forgot to add a bit more disfigurement on Darren; probably some stretch marks on his face as a result of his mutation would've been nice.
Disfigurement would’ve been nice, but I could’ve settled for a scowl. Less of an upbeat tone for the guy who turned your life upside down.

OMG 😂 When I first saw MODOK in theaters, I was like “He looks like Humpty Dumpty, armed and dangerous.” 🥚 I had completely forgotten what had happened to Darren at the end of the first movie.
It's very difficult translating a character like that into a live action film. You have to be perfect.
Or utilize a dream setting. “Mr. Electric” doesn’t get as much scrutiny because of that.

I honestly prefer the M.O.D.O.K. From the Marvel Avengers game especially the design and the transformation sequence of how each time we saw him he would be more deformed as we progressed, the design of it was beautiful, the character motif PHENOMENAL, the development BEAUTIFULLY PRESENTED, And then the voice actor gave the passion of the character which was beautiful
I like how cassie only recognised him as the 'Bee Guy' since he's the nightmare during her childhood times.
I hope in the future when Mcu gets back on track again with writing. They can make Modak better just like they did with Deadpool.
The problem with adapting MODOK is that he's portrayed so differently in the comics depending on who's writing at the time. Oftentimes he's depicted as a serious, powerful threat (which is how he was originally intended and designed to be) and other times writers make him a literal joke who's entire purpose is just to be laughed at. More often than not, when MODOK appears in other media outside the comics, they tend to emphasize the comical side instead of the serious, threatening villain side.

After Endgame, we had very little Good Marvel movies, such as She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Black Panther 2, Thor Love and Thunder, Eternals, Ant-Man 3, Secret Invasion, Doctor Strange 2. Those movies I just listed were the bad ones. Now let's move on to the good movies and series we got. Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Loki, WandaVision, Falcon and Winter Soldier, Black Widow, Guardians 3, Hawkeye. Now, all those movies I just listed were the good ones we got. And notice how we mostly got bad ones. Marvel has a big issue with writing and is running out of ideas and resources.

I have to say that while I knew that M.O.D.O.K. was gonna be Ant-Man 3, I was quite surprised and shocked about his true identity, I didn't even know! Have to admit that was pretty clever twist, plus Honest Trailers was right, Daren did survive!

All they had to do was to keep MODOC masked, it would have been more disturbing for viewers to imagine the deformed and contorted mess that lied underneath his armor, the concept of MODOC being the unevenly shrunken body of Darren was a good body horror premise.
I hope that they introduce AIM and George Tarleton in future avenger movies, so we are able to see a proper Avengers-level threat MODOK by Secret Wars.

Cassie is slightly terrified of Darren now MODOK because Darren as Yellowjacket almost killed her and her stepfather Jim Paxton when Cassie was seven years old until her father Scott Lang as Ant-Man saved them by shrinking Darren down to the quantum realm which is how he became MODOK after being saved by Kang the Conqueror, blah, blah, blah, though Cassie overcomes her fear of him and stands up to him and redeems him in the climax.
