  • Retro ads from Summer '84 when TV 20 was KTZO. I can't find the exact day but there weren't any July 4th mentions so it's probably between that and the 12th.

    -Camino campers
    -Time Magazine
    -Devon home center stores
-Promo #1 with Tony Kilbert and the upcoming schedule
    -Wednesday night promo lineup
-Pete Ellis Dodge jingle with kids singing
    -Ramm's Furniture
    -Beck's Beer
-James Gabbert right-wing capitalist-esque editorial praising the FCC deregulating broadcasting (lost my respect for that one)

    -Coors Summer bluesy rock jingle
    -Northern California Honda
    -Marine World USA upbeat jingle
    -Berman's furniture sale

    -Stewart Chevrolet
-Tony Kilbert promo #3 holding up the bumper sticker
    -TV Guide

God i miss the 70s and 80s in the Bay Area. Back when time made sense, values, strength, growth were an actuality. People cared for each other. NO matter who or what you were.
I was so jazzed to hear the Julio Iglasias advert. I remember my mom dragged me to it on my Birthday. Next weekend I saw Van Halen at the Cow Palace 1984 Tour. What a time to be a alive!!!

I just picked up a tv20 vintage 80s bumper sticker (been collecting Bay Area stickers) never knew as a kid in the 80s that this stuff would have such an impact - ❤

I’m having flashbacks watching these! We lived in the Bay area from 1983-1986. I was a young stay-at-home mother with a one year old and a kindergartner at the time these were airing, so I remember them well-especially Ed Barbar (“bye kids!”), the South Bay Dentist one with Dorothy and the talking tooth (“but dentists are so expensive!”) and the adorable TV20 dogs. My son loved those dogs. Thanks for the memories!

July 1984 was the summer between 3rd and 4th grade, and I totally remember that car commercial at 5:14 with all the gas station signage because I was obsessed with logos at that time. Blast from the past. Thank you.

What a treat to see my dear friend Tony Kilbert (TK!) lookin' fine and in his prime! We met eight years before this video footage was taken, when he was a DJ on KSAN. We talk on the phone once in a while. His voice is still dreamy and just thinking about him puts a smile on my face. Thank you for posting this!

Tony Kilbert! TV 20! what memories. TV used to shut off at 2AM with sometimes wonderfully beautiful sign-off segments featuring music by composers like Gabriel Faure. It's been a long time since TV shut off for the night.
