I lived in Gainesville from '69 to 72. One of the guys in the video is Ron Blair ( bassist ), a one time housemate. the other guy, Mike Campbell ( guitar ) was my upstairs neighbor. That era in Gainesville was magical. so many places to play, so many musicians. I even knew Felder ( ya, brain damage.... jus' a little lol ). I don't think there could ever be such a concurrence of people in one place ever again. We played mostly at Trader Tom's Bar, a pretty seedy bar, and quite a few fraternaties, even opened for Skynyrd once in Jacksonville. some strange happenings at the Millhopper in '71, UFO related. anybody else notice that?

I forgot all about Richard Bey!!! I haven’t heard that name in decades. I think he was my best friend’s favorite. His show was wilder and funnier than the others of the era, at least to us. During summer vacation in 95/96 she would always tell me, “oh my god, today on The Richard Bey Show…” One night in summer 1996 I decided to stay up all night. I was 11, it would be my first time. To help me, I wrote a list of all the shows that would be on all night and morning, and what time. My gut tells me Richard Bey was on at 11am on KMSP, UPN 9. I could be wrong but I don’t think so. Also I only made it to about 4:30 AM.

A couple of things as a fan. There's a myth Van Halen sold more records with Hagar. That's just not reality. Huge. Yes Selling more than with Roth? No. Also, I was young when 1984 came out but I can't imagine someone being so upset with "Jump" and "I"ll Wait" but there was stuff like "Dance the Night Away" on previous albums that weren't exactly "Unchained" or "Mean Streeet".Then the same people will who hate 1984 because of keyboards will rave about 5150 with even more keyboard!
