    brilliant, I wonder if you may have more success with this speices if you were to just strip the female fish of there eggs or fry , another great video.

      yes likely, with travel it is a bit tricky to maintain the water for a sensitive fish like this. I am sure a skilled Lake Tanganyika breeder would have no trouble.

      I did not find it, Hans van Heusden did and recommended to visit when i was in Tanzania.

    So if I'm not mistaken, there's no more Ctenochromis in Tanganyika? (Since "Ctenochromis" horei is now Shuja horei...)
    How far is Shuja from Ctenochromis sensu stricto though?

      correct, the Congolese ones are now back to "Haplochromis", the Tanganyika in Shuja. The C.scatebra paper outlines the differences. You should be able to find it online.
