Weird thing is that I remember having a moment with him during a show. He saw me looking at him from the crowd while he was drumming, and he looked me straight in the eye. I nodded and he nodded back, then we both continued with our head banging, haha.
It was one on of the Summer Slaughter tours with Necrophagist--wow, what a time.
@@SkunkDozer It's easy to forget, but Vitek died when he was just 23. He left this world at 23 years young, but metal didn't and will never forget him. Rest in power.
Derek Boyer, I fucking love that guy, instantly recognizable just by the way he plays his bass. Frank nailed it, playing Vitek's drum parts is very tough.
Vitek will forever be missed.

Partied with Suffo a few years back in Glasgow and they were all brand new. Terrence Hobbs especially is a credit to the human race.

I’m more of an Organic Hallucinocis guy myself but they were both so, so good.
The vocals sound great. Closer to Saurons guttural growl.

That's a common problem with death metal record companies for some reason they also turn the vocals down rather than up which seems backwards as hell to me

Matt should use that style of growl in cryptopsy, specially when singing lord worm stuff, I like the open kind of saound that him and Mike Desalvo have, but broooo WHAT A BRUTAL LOW WE GOT HERE, in combination with his other techniques it would be REALLY BRUTAL
Definitely. A lot of people shit on Matt but I actually like his vocals. Especially on the self titled album. He pretty much did the same style on that album that he’s doing here. Brutal vocals

@@The_JustJoshing He definitely kills it live with Cryptopsy. I think he's a super-versatile screamer and he sounds great. It's not his fault he had to sing over some garbage Flo wrote on the first album he sang on.
@@Kwert that album is not that bad at all. And it wasn't Flo doing all the writing. There was an entire band. That album gets way to much hate from people who clearly didn't listen to it.

Post(?) Organix is almost like the sequel to spheres of madness. It's between those two tracks for sure for me with three dimensional defect, right behind
It's really catchy and probably their most instantly recognisable song, but it's far from their best work. It's not even in the top 3 on the Nihility album for me.
@Michael Lochlann Agreed, on any other album Spheres Of Madness would probably be the standout title track. But compared to the rest of the Nihility album, it's a relatively tame and uneventful song. But it is one hell of a catchy headbanger!
If there's anybody else that can top the solid *"bassmanship"* of CC's *Alex Webster,* then it's definitely none other than *Derek Boyer.*

I expected to be dissapointed by the vocals, but here I am loving it. Matt fits this format way more than he does in Cryptopsy.
I fully agree, he sounds amazing here, but I feel like his track is a little out of sync and it's fucking with the groove of the song
