    Ι really don't get this obsession with the reviews always being about the top notch version, while the majority of people due to budget limitations will opt for the mid range grades.
    This only makes sense in the context of an advertisement / promotion, not an objective review.

      Indeed. I have had mine for a week now (Excel in Oxide Bronce, except it was called H4 here in Denmark when I ordered it back in January), and I absolutely love it! :)
      I'm still trying to find out if the dash board backlight has a night mode though. So far I have only found the setting for altering the overall brightnes. My old Yaris (2016 model) would automatically enter night mode and dim the backlight when turning on the headlights, and the satnav would enter night mode when the cabin light sensor registered low light conditions.

      Top tip: sit on your left leg and tape the hand closest to the gear lever to the steering wheel. ;)
      That leg and that hand WILL seek out the clutch pedal and the gear lever when approaching corners and junctions for a while, until getting used to driving automatic. :)
      Only use B-mode (increased engine braking) on the gear lever for long stteep inclines, it will NOT charge your battery faster! All it does is spin up the petrol engine at high rpm to increase engine braking, and it uses the small MG1 electric motor attached to the flywheel to do it.

    Now available as Mazda 2 Hybrid! I’ve had mine since August 2022 exactly the same car but rebadged as a Mazda. I still don’t know why Toyota gave the car to Mazda but I got my Mazda 8 months quicker than Toyota could supply a Yaris!!!!! Ps I love it

      @tectorama Před 2 lety

      @@stanhendo Yes, we've been very happy with it so far. We use it mostly around town, and are getting 67mpg. It's a nice size for parking in small spaces. We bought it as my wife is learning to drive in a 2020 Yaris. It's comfortable enough, although a little noisy at speed. To get Android Auto, you need either an iPhone, or an Android with at least V.10. The cruise and lane control can take a bit of getting used to.

    9:13 No, that button (lower half of a dual-function button) doesn't activate the cruise control. The button shown being pushed, is a speed limiter (the speed won't exceed the set speed no matter how hard the accelerator is pushed down). For activaiting cruise control, push the upper half of the button!
    9:17 When pushed like shown, the speed is adjusted in 1 km/h or mph increments. If held in the up or down position, the speed will change in 5 km/h og mph increments.

  • @DavidHughes-op6zl
    @DavidHughes-op6zl Před rokem

    No! Seductive and stunningly beautiful as the design is I've rejected it, for two reasons: firstly, in my book it's unforgivable that the maker doesn't include a built‐in satnav (even on the Excrel version) because I can't be doing fiddling around with phone cable connectivity and, secondly, too many commentators complain about excessive wind noise and tyre roar at motorway speeds. Furthermore I was massively unimpressed that a dealer couldn't be bothered to answer six oh‐so‐simple written questions. Thus the maker has cumulatively failed to prise the wonga from my wallet. •Your loss, competition's gain• the latter's dealer coming back to me fulsomely within
    a couple of hours after exactly the same enquiry. They succeeded in gaining my custom because they deserved it by >earning< it. My message to Toyota: fall awake!

      Me and the wife have just bought it after test driving. Was going for a Corolla. The telematics showed we were getting just under 70mpg around town with 74% of the drive on electric. The Corrola seemed to spend way more time on petrol than I thought it would. I'll be filling up once a month instead of twice, saved myself £7,000
