Freelee's lies/delusion: She didn't get fat on Raw Till 4, nor did she suffer from metabolic damage

  • According to Freelee's own now-deleted blog, she didn't get fat eating a high carb, low fat vegan diet. And the little bit of weight she did gain was due to "cooked food abuse," not metabolic damage. Oh, and she lost the weight in just a few months.
    Is she lying, or has she deluded herself into believing her own nonsense claims? The better question: When countless people like Julia Boer continue to hurt themselves based on Freelee's nonsense advice...does whether or not she's lying or delusional even matter?

    I'm pretty sure freelees metabolic damage bs was inspired by that mean girls scene where Regina George is gaining weight from eating protein bars and Cady is all like "yeah that's how the diet works, first you bloat and then you drop 10 pounds like that"

    I used to be a militant freelee cult follower. Then one day I found her blog called "Sweet Juicy Freelee" where she posted what she ate and did (exercise, gym, yoga, etc.) everyday since around 2007/09. She was talking about how she lost weight very quickly and Freelee literally posted in detail about how she exercised up to 3 times a day!!!! I was so shocked my jaw dropped after I read her entire blog. I couldn't believe it. Needless to say, after I discovered the truth that Freelee exercised soooooooooooo much to lose her weight QUICKLY I immediately stopped following rt4 and I left the cult. The funny thing is shortly after I discovered her blog and posted about it Freelee quickly deleted it. I deeply regret not taking screenshots of it...

      Rt4 is a scam. Freelee is a scammer. Till today there is NOBODY that has went from super fat to Freelee's size eating 2500+ calories a day and exercising "every other day" like Freelee claims. But there's enough ppl gaining tons of weight (I know I did when I followed it over a year ago) and suffering severe health problems too bad Freelee deletes and censors their comments of criticism.

    • @LordofFullmetal

      @@sergsfault Do YOU know what a cult is? Because literally one of the requirements from the BITE model is "controlling what people eat". Freelee does this, though in a very roundabout way. The diet she promotes, the one she very publicly believes EVERYONE should eat, is VERY restrictive and VERY controlling.
      Then there's thought control. The withdrawal/control of information (hello, deleting her blog to hide the facts much), people getting in trouble for independent thought (She and her fanbase quite literally ATTACK anyone who disagrees with her. Half her videos are just her attacking people). You'd be surprised how much of the criteria for a cult she actually fits.
      And if you don't go by the BITE model (though you should, it's the most official criteria out there) the definitions of the word as given by the dictionary are:
      1.
      a system of religious veneration and devotion directed towards a particular figure or object.
      2.
      a person or thing that is popular or fashionable among a particular group or section of society.

      Don´t stay stuck on it, ultimatly, each of us is in charge of our body.
      I too tried my best to follow her diet, but I quickely realized that eating fruits, fruits and lettuce with fruit sauces (because fat is "evil") just made me feel deprived. I felt shame for trying blending mango and tomatoe and not being liking it. I felt shame and guilt for liking savorey foods most, with salt and fat and spices in them.
      I also struggled trying to gorge on 2500 minimum calories from fruit.
      I then tried her hcrt4 and gained 10 pounds in 8 weeks (while not coming from restriction and already (or still) being overweight).
      The most important thing is to listen to your body.
      I am a slow burner. I feel best eating a low calories raw vegan diet with more fat (between 15-30%, depending on the day).
      That´s how I feel happy and good in my body.
      I also feel best when I only eat one meal a day late afternoon.
      I think she is a fraud, but she aint the only one, in the food department, there are tons of them.
      That´s why it is terribly important to listen to yourself first, because you know your own body better than anyone else.

    I also came across Freelee and 30bad early on when they were fully raw. I agree she was always skinny! I didn't last long on 30bad before she banned me for questioning her pseudoscience. She was saying things like "cooked food is dead food" that cooking food kills the plants digestive enzymes which our bodies need to digest our food. But anyone who's done high school biology should know that we have our own enzymes for digesting food which are site specific, meaning they only work in certain areas of the body under specific conditions and we have lots of different enzymes which all work in different areas of our body. The enzyme amylase works in our mouth where it is slightly alkaline, pepsin works in the acidic conditions in our stomach, when we swallow amylase and it hits our stomach it becomes denatured 'dead'. So obviously the enzymes in plants will be suited to certain plant conditions and will denature in our acidic stomach. Also why would plants evolve to digest themselves when they get eaten? That doesn't make evolutionary sense as it doesn't benefit the plant in any way to help it survive. That was too much logic for Freelee and I was banned. Then I came across her again years later and she's eating cooked food! Oh the irony!!!! lol

      absolutely! but the difference between "eating" again, and "stuffing yourself with unlimited carbs" is quite a difference... eating to satiation will definitely cause weight gain after extreme calorie reduction: because the body is like "HEEEY calories, there you are! we MISSSSED you so much... i'm gonna hug you and never let you goooo!" haha no but seriously... that is what happens. This is why weight gain occurs after dieting, hence: one should not restrict calories too much! The rt4 weight gain from months of overfeeding is a whole different scenario. It's just day in day out overfeeding after the initial weight gain from dieting has occurred, and then the gain just continues... i am all for eating to satiety and do not believe in restriction when one is hungry... but rt4 really is a different beast, especially considering the macro ratios being off. Personally speaking, i go insane if i only eat carbs with litttttle amounts of fat and protein. i like soy fat and protein... it keeps me much more stable than 30 bananas ... 🤢

I struggled to find vegan videos that were inspirational and drama free as there was a lot of fighting going on between vegan CZcamsr's from the start. I always believed that Freelee had lost a lot of weight and watched some of her videos for inspiration but passed on most of the click bait/ call out videos. The botox is her choice, although not a healthy one in my opinion. Hi I am new to the vegan community. I started on the RT4 at the beginning of June-16 after watching a Freelee video about getting rid of cellulite. I found the concept interesting, but difficult because I was not a fruit lover, anyways started my RT4 journey. I was 215 lbs, I was on blood pressure medicine. In April I was diagnosed pre-diabetic with an A1C of 5.8. I recently went back to the doctor, my A1C is 5.1, I have lost 40 lbs and I am not longer on blood pressure medicine.
    I don't know if it was the diet or the fact that I started working out (thanks to Freelee's motivation also) or the fact that I got some hormones I was deficient on namely (Thyriod hormone, progesterone, DHEA, and pregnenolone) but something really did changed my body and health. Right now I am not losing any more weight. Therefore, I will decrease my fruit consumption and eat more vegetables, greens, and nuts and see how that impacts my body.

    Please just say body dysmorphia instead of delusion. It's not like we choose to see our body different to how it is. The brain hijacks the image and alters it, it's not just like we see our bodies the way other people say it and think that we're fat because we're assholes. There's nothing you can do to force seeing your body the way it is, even now at my best I still have to poke and push my face to trick my brain into showing me reality.
    I'm no fan of Freelee but if you're going to attempt to diagnose her mental state it wouldn't kill to do some research.

    • @laurenw4818
      @laurenw4818 Před 7 lety +9

      Body dysmorphia is a type of delusion though, is it not? Do you think people with delusions "choose" to have them?And like, I have body dysmorphia. The difference is that I would never go on youtube and tell people that my 5'10 154lb body is "fat", even if I see it that way. I wouldn't say that I could relate to the struggles of overweight and obese people and give them advice on the basis that I was once like them.

    • @theMoporter
      @theMoporter Před 7 lety +2

      Lauren Wittmer The difference between delusion and body dysmorphia is very real. Delusion is believing something in spite of evidence to the contrary; body dysmorphia is an illusion, meaning the brain distorts the image before we can comprehend it.
      And fact is, body dysmorphia is a mental illness people can go their whole life without recognising or being diagnosed with. It is, in fact, severely undiagnosed. The only reason I know I have it is because the hypomania from my mood disorder cancelled it out (before my mood stabilisers) so I know what my body actually looks like from those times, but I still can't tell if a picture of me is bad or it's the dysmorphia. It's not unbelievable to imagine that she suffers to some degree and actually believes she was fat because of a distorted self-perception.
      However, it's impossible for us to know unless she is seen by a psychiatrist or psychotherapist and officially diagnosed. This is all speculation. It's just worth learning what mental illness you're referring to before accusing her of it.

    • @ooyo8253
      @ooyo8253 Před 7 lety +4

      Do you not understand what the word delusion means? By saying delusion it doesn't mean that the person just chooses to deny or see their body (or whatever the subject matter is) in a skewed perception because they are assholes like you said. Delusion literally means having a skewed perception of reality. The word delusion fits pretty well. I think Swayze refrained from saying that it was specifically body dysmorphic disorder because it's never a great thing to do to straight up diagnose someone when you don't have all the facts and aren't a professional.

It makes no sense that you would suddenly lose weight doing the same things you did when you gained weight without an underlying disease. It literally goes against science. Freelee simply exercises a lot. If you gain a ton of weight rapidly like Julia Boer has, your diet and/or exercise isn't working unless you are discovered to have hypothyroid or something. It's common sense.

    Fishy Freelee... While Harley is a straight up mythomaniac, Freelee is one of those liars who either screws with the truth or just avoid tell the "whole story".
    My boyfriend would probably say I've had a little unhealthy obsession with her from the start, but only because I knew she was not sharing all vital information about her physique and how she got there. Yes, I unfortunetelly fell for her trick and gained weight, even though I didn't have ANY past of ED or whatever they blame it on.
    You don't have to dig deeper than to her current blog to see that she's fitness-obsessed, and that she does more training than she makes us believe.
    I completely stopped believing anything she said when during a period Freelee and Harley were all like "look at our Strava - we don't do much training!". So I looked at Freelee's strava account and it looked like she wasn't biking much, and presumably was telling the truth. Harley however, do bike more than the average person has time with.
    But Harley kept uploading vlogs of them BOTH on DAILY morning rides, which he linked to a strava activity - which proved the vlogs were up-to-date (we know how much these two likes to upload old shit). Guess what, Freelee didn't link shit to her Strava! But there's several video proof of her joining on his everyday rides. Already there, she's not honest with us about how much exercise she does. She's also not honest about how she gets her flat stomach. It's not from biking guys, it's physically impossible to build the type she has by just biking. She does daily core exercises.
    I wish Freelee could just be completely honest about everything. We can handle it. But I don't think we'll ever hear a complete truth come out of that mouth of hers.

    Let me be clear: I don't think it's wise to eat unlimited calories to "cure" metabolic damage. BUT, if you read any of the recent (in the past year or two) articles written by doctors who SPECIALIZE in metabolism, hormone balances, etc., you'll find that they DO conclude people's metabolisms are totally screwed after yo-yo dieting. ANY TIME YOU LOSE WEIGHT YOUR METABOLISM SLOWS DOWN...and the only ways to combat that are to build MUSCLE while watching your calories, and possibly taking a supplement like Green Tea. It takes the body a long time to recover from extreme metabolic damage due to starvation based diets - Freelee is right about that. But, her solution of eating unlimited carbs is unsupported in science.

    I have tried eating more starches, like potatoes and carbs through grains like pasta, but I tend to gain weight easily doing this. If I had to speculate, it is probably due to eating more than a standard serving, because I don't feel full eating like that. Even if I eat some with beans, lentils or veggies.

I did notice her cheeks being big but they look like that even in her 30s. Some people who are bulimic get this affect....not saying she was but that used to be my suspicion and she's said she's had eating disorders in her past.

    Tim Shieff said it disproves God in a way, to say that the Earth is round. So there you go, that's where flat-earthers and anti-gravity people get their motivation from, religion.

      Sorry but Isaiah 40:22 says the earth is round. Don't blame "flat-earthers" on religion. Blame it on what it is, straight up ignorance.

    • @davidsandlin9686
      @davidsandlin9686 Před 7 lety +2

      Isaiah 40:22 doesn't say the earth is a globe. It says it's a circle and a circle is flat. That's their response to that.

    • @_anon_4532
      @_anon_4532 Před 7 lety +2

      Only because there wasn't a Hebrew word for globe or sphere. So if that's their argument it's pretty weak. If God, who divinely inspired the words written in the Bible, can see enough of the Earth to know that it is "round", it stands to reason that He also has the ability to see isn't flat. If Earth were flat it would seem to make more sense to describe it as a valley not as being round.

    • @davidsandlin9686
      @davidsandlin9686 Před 7 lety +2

      There is a Hebrew word for globe. It's the same as circle. So this verse using circle is more a reflection of the translators point of view then the original writers. I personally don't believe the earth is flat. I was just giving you there argument. You can't argue with a bible interpretation because you can always find a verse to contradict the one you are arguing.

    I get the feeling that after so long in a relationship with someone who comes across as emotionally controlling to say the least, and his intense focus on Freelee's looks and body, it seems as though she has internalised this. Maybe she doesn't think people will be interested in her if she doesn't show her body or sexualise her videos. It's really sad.

    Metabolic damage isn't a lie. And it is proven that raw foods are very, very healthy. It is proven they heal in a different way than cooked food. Although, many people have had amazing results eating a combination of raw and cooked foods on what they call a clean diet. People even eat healthy eating meat, so it can be super confusing sometimes when it comes to food.

    The earth IS flat....this is not a belief it is a conclusion. Once when I flew to Australia I arrived standing erect and the plane landed on it's wheels. If the earth were a globe ( lol ) I would have arrived upside down on my head and the plane would have crash landed on it's roof. It is simple physics. Duh.

    haha, Freelee has made a little "response" to your video in her video today. Again, just showing us the footage of her being "fat"... I'm sorry but she was never fat or obese. I have been obese (around 110kgs for over a decade) and now I'm around 62kgs. Freelee may have had fat cheeks in those videos but her body is still smaller at her biggest (and "overweight" stages) than my current figure which I am more than happy with after 50kgs of weight loss - and no I didn't loose the weight "smashing in" the calories RT4 style. I lost it using a sensible calories in vs calories out method and have maintained that loss now for over 3yrs. When I started eating RT4 I GAINED 10-12kgs which is not from that metabolic damage rubbish, it was from eating over 2500 calories per day (as per her guidelines) and not moving as much as her. I am shorter than her and have small kiddies so I can't just bike up hills all day. I don't have her metabolism and don't need as much food as her. And until science proves that to be different nothing Freelee says about weight loss is something I will follow again. I will listen to people who HAVE lost weight or helped actual physical people loose weight - Dr McDougall etc etc.... Keep up the great videos and good luck with the baby

    when I was eating high carb, I had the exact same face edema. I had fasted for 8 days prior and my face blew up and retained water for 2 years until I lowered my carbohydrate intake. 1g of carbs holds 4g of water, and if you aren't burning up those excess carbs, they suck up water like a sponge.

    Interesting how Freelee is putting out all of these videos now bashing former vegans, calling them liars, going through all their videos and claiming they were eating meat earlier than they claim there were .. blah-blah-blah .. and it appears she was doing the same thing with her diet, exercise and weight loss claims.

    Why do people take for granted that Freelee and Durianrider eat as much as they claim they do? I think both of them consume the same amount of calories as they burn. Some days they are probably on a deficit. This is the real reason why they are so slim. In Durianriders "What I eat in a day" videos you can clearly see that he doesn't eat that much.

      I don't agree with UV's position but harassment is not the answer. I'm a little disturbed by all the Jen comments here. Jen's Aunt's (I guess) video was taken down by CZcams for harassment and bullying. I think there is a lesson in that for you, and others.

    • @Bludaizee3
      @Bludaizee3 Před 7 lety

      It's been proven that Jen's donations were going up until the release of UV 's video. Then they just stopped. AND ppl were harassing a Dying woman! There is a direct cause and effect here. And the video is still up so UV is still making money off Jen's name! Not my opinion , Jen's families opinion as well. Not my problem if you don't see how disgusting that is. It's no one's business what a dying person wants to do to try to stay alive. And UV has many many facts about Jen WRONG.

I feel for what she went through with harley, no one deserves that and I did always suspect there was an emotional abuse aspect there. that's just the vibe I got watching them interact. but now she's getting a bit of a taste of her own medicine with him defaming her, from someone who's even better at it than her, from someone who she just can't bully away and it probably doesn't feel too good to be on the receiving end for a change. hope she realizes that.
