    YOU are a good teacher . All of these videos have something unique to offer. You are an accomplished guitarist as well.
    I bought a gm800 and I am starting to explore the limits of this nex-gen guitar synth. Most of the videos out there are crap.
    You understand the real potential here. In time when you master this device please show us what this thing can do. Bill B

      MIDI guitar has indeed improved quite a lot over the last three decades but so have the sounds luckily - especially the samples and modeling - so guitar synths have no more need to sound cheesy!
      I wish you lots of fun playing MIDI guitar with your Graphtech/GM combination! Best wishes, Eddie

      Could you please 🙏 confirm if it works great for you regarding sound quality?

      Not familiar with the nylon string Ghost system..If they sell it-I'm sure it works well.They have Fantastic Support.You-tube has installation videos.Take your time doing the install. I have the steel string Ghost system.Been using it for 18 years on a Warmoth built strat-style guitar w/trem.Used it with the GR-55,GR-33,can't remember #'s on the Roland yellow pedal,and a German Terrateck guitar synth.Tracked excellant for all of them.And you have the Piezo acoustic option too.Been using their products since they 1st started.Best Regards..@@loqmandaliyoucef7864

    LOVE The Supertramp. Bravo my friend❤. Still confused how you are controlling the Boss-800 with all these different guitars because I do not see the pickup mounted. I love MIDI guitar and ave two Fishman guitars with built in Fishman Triple play which is so much fun controlling software synths inside of Ableton. I want to put together aq live rig and really confused how to setup a live rig for both MIDI and analog signals abd be able to combine both sounds. Love to get any advice because you are a very skilled & talented musician. I have a Godin nylon string Multiac and it has a 13 pin output for the MIDI so can't figure out how to use the two together. FYI.....the Beatles track was epic. I am blown away by how technically and musically proficient you are. I see Pink Floyd Animals & Zeppelin IV on shelf. Looks like a YES album as well. I am 61 years old and my first convert was Zeppelin at Madison Square Garden in 1977. 😎.

      Hi Bob, thanks a lot for your kind comments - they are much appreciated. As we are nearly the same age, it seems our musical taste has a lot in common. My love for combining music with a technical interest was triggered by Mike Oldfields Tubular Bells - it started my dream of being able to produce lovely sounds with the guitar.
      Concerning your question - all my acoustic MIDI guitars are equipped with RMC pickups and an RMC Poly-Drive preamp (2 internal/2 external) they all run into the GM/computer in the way I described in my other comment. My computer is connected to a Metric Halo ULN 8 Interface which comes with a very sophisticated software mixer. I run my guitar analog output & the GM analog outs into three inputs of the ULN and feed the Guitar to MIDI USB output from the GM into the computer. There I can mix all the signals with the software mixer of my interface.
      I know, this might sound a little overwhelming at first - but fret not - I am just starting a new video series today where I explain all this in detail. All the best and lots of fun with your musical endeavors, Eddie

    Great sounds and ideas ! I'm thinking about buying the gm800. Is it also possible to make a great arabic patch on the gm800, like using a Duduk flute ! I would love to hear the possibilities. Best regards

    • @midiguitarist4140
      @midiguitarist4140  Před 7 měsíci

      Thanks for watching and your sub! The GM-800 unfortunately doesn’t contain any arabic sounds like Duduk nor does the EXZ 006 „World Instruments“ sound pack from BOSS. The way to go about this would be to get GM-800 as a guitar to MIDI interface and connect it to a computer which runs the UVI World Suite 2 as a virtual Instrument:
      www.uvi.net/en/music-genres/world-suite-2.html
      There you find folk instrument from around the globe in very good quality and could instantly create an arabic vibe. I hope that helps - feel free to ask if you have further questions. Best wishes, Eddie
      P.S. I just realized that the World Suite 2 is on sale at the moment for 50% off - so this might be a good opportunity.

    Ty for these great videos. You make it pretty enticing to purchase a GM 800. I have been thinking about buying the GM to use in live situations. However, I can not figure out how I would conveniently mute the GM during a song if I just wanted to hear my guitar only for a portion of the song. There seems to be no switch on the GK-5 to allow muting the sound. I am thinking maybe an expression pedal in one of the control inputs on the back of the unit might be the way to lower/mute the volume if you set it up to control volume. Your input would be appreciated.

      Thanks for watching - I‘m glad you enjoyed the videos.
      A volume pedal is the easiest way to go if you have a guitar equipped with the GK-5. If you use an acoustic guitar like a Godin Multiac which is equipped with RMC pickups and an RMC preamp, you can use the onboard volume slider directly on the guitar. Anyway have lots of fun with the GM-800!

    • @joemysterymusic
      @joemysterymusic Před 2 měsíci

      @@midiguitarist4140 Ty for answering. Yes, I would be purchasing a GK-5. But The GK-5 is connected to the GM 800 using the Boss BGK cable. So I am thinking that connection can not be interrupted. So where do you place the volume pedal? Is it connected using one of the expression pedal inputs on the 800 itself? Thanks again for the anticipated assistance.

      @@midiguitarist4140 Again, thank you very much. I suspected this was the ticket. By the way, enjoy your playing and musicianship very much. Hope you do not mind me asking But I was wondering how you develop your finger style renditions. Do you also play piano; are you just a great sight reader or do you develop your finger style renditions by ear. They are simply awesome.

    • @midiguitarist4140
      @midiguitarist4140  Před 2 měsíci

      @@joemysterymusic Thank you for your kind words. I do play the piano but I develop my arrangements solely on the guitar - I jot down the changes on paper and then mostly try to emulate the voicings and overall feeling on the guitar (+synth). The synth comes in handy for broadening the tonal range, retuning on the fly and evoking atmospheres through additional timbres. It does help that I have studied classical as well as Jazz guitar and know my fretboard like a pianist. I hope that sort of answers your questions ;-).

      Hi, thanks for watching and your kind comment. The guitar has RMC pickups and an outboard RMC Poly Drive II preamp, which has a Roland 13 pin output. This runs into the BOSS GKC-AD converter which then is connected to GM-800 with a BGK serial cable. I hope that helps.

      For the nylonstring variant you‘d also have to buy a BOSS GKC-AD converter.
