Jamie carried the new era, say what you want but the show really started to build around him and new fans liked Jamie’s storyline and progression. Was hoping they kept the character around for another season, seems like Sully wasn’t with Dushane handing off the business to Jamie. Thought it would be good to see that fracture in relationship as Dushane starts to rely on Jaime more with Sully once again being pushed aside.
What you say is true but its not that they didnt keep the character around. The actor was moving on to different projects, so they have to "write him off", the only other option would be to have a different actor play him which wouldn't be right.

On top of never trusting Jamie, Sully hated Dushane doing things without consulting him. Even though Dushane claimed they were partners, he was still treating Sully like a subordinate, talking about a retirement plan that Sully never agreed to. Sully was pissed Dushane planned for Jamie to take over, and this was how he dealt with it
because sully is emotional and has no business game at all, several times sully nearly destroyed everything they worked for because of immature impulsive decisions, no wonder dushane was annoyed. sully is a grunt not a leader. he's also really volatile and unpredictable, shoot first ask questions later, no wonder dushane needs to babysit the guy
