I got to see them on this same tour a month apart from this concert in Frankfort. KY. There was a mix-up with the airline that John Patitucci flew in on and they had temporarily "misplaced" his upright Double Bass. Chick jokingly made this announcement at the beginning of the show and because of that he would be playing his Ken Smith 6 String Electric Bass. It was a cool little twist which made the show unique and one which I will never forget. Thank You for the memories Chick. Your music will live on forever!
One thing I admire about you awesome band is that none of you think you have to be noticed above the other, when it come your time to have a lead part, you lead, when it is time for the other one to have a lead part they back away and let the other lead. All of you play and are in such harmony with each other. Chick you have made one of the most sought after and loved band a pianist could put together. With the Leslie of God, you pick the most awesome, handsome and admired men to be in you blessed band. Your fans love you so much man. Your are a blessed man Chick.
