The umpire was so inconsistent and pretty much dreadful throughout the game. Glad they got through! Go Ms!

Yesterday’s home plate umpire was (almost) spot on. Today, not so much…

WOW WOW WOW! What a game! If you havent been to an M's vs Jays game in Seattle its JUST DIFFERENT. The crowd is 50/50 for their teams (since we're 1 hour from Canada eh) But everyone having fun. Everyone is kind. Its really fun. I'm an old school M's fan from the Griffey days, and I only go to the M's games now when the Jays are in town. Games like TODAY and YESTERDAYS games are why!!!
I would love to go I live in British Columbia and I've always been kind of a blue jays fan since Joe Carter hit that home run, what was it each team hit three home runs in an inning that's got to be some kind of record I bet they're looking that up 🍻

The best game I went to was against the Jays. We jokingly went back and forth with this Blue Jays couple for the game. They turned out to be awesome, had just moved to Seattle, and ended up inviting my two friends and me back to their house after the game! I still remember walking into the grocery store with these basically strangers, but on that friend level, on the adventure together for more IPAs 😂

Was at this game. Bought a Martinez jersey right as the game started. Thought I was dreaming when I saw Teoscar hit that ball into left and Julio beat the throw home. Shades of Griffey and Martinez... this is the best mlb game I've ever been to.

Jarred Kelenic's injury woke this team up. This lit a fire under the Mariners. My Bold prediction. The Mariners stay in contention for the playoffs until September. Jarred Kelenic comes back and plays hero. He sends them to the playoffs.

That's what I am thinking also!
Just like the miraculous 1995 Mariners season, when Ken Griffey Junior broke his wrist making an incredible catch colliding to the right field wall in Kingdome(now gone due to demolition) in May(I think) of 1995, the entire Mariners' players caught fire and played really well to stay in the race for the playoffs!
Eventually, Griffey came back in August(I think) and the Mariners defeated the Angels in a one-game tiebreaker 9-1 to take the AL West title.
They overcame the 13 game deficit behind the Angels and at the last tiebreaker, they showed what a true comeback is with flying colors.
In the playoffs(ALDS) that year, the Mariners reverse-sweeped the Yankees and won the 5th game by the legendary "The Double" by Hall of Famer Edgar Martinez!
I believe a similar run like the 1995 Mariners WILL HAPPEN THIS YEAR!

Love the M's but it aint happening. They have to win an absurd amount of games just to get to 90 wins, and 90 wins probably won't cut it this year. Hope i'm wrong!

It was funny being at the stadium because 50% were Mariner fans and 50% were Blue Jay fans, WILD!

The Blue Jays are one of the most talented teams in findings ways to lose. I bet tomorrow Manoah will somehow pitch a rare gem, and the team will proceed to lose 10-0 because the bullpen will blow the game open, with the offense doing nothing again
It's astounding how similar our two teams are. The Mariners are a much better team than they have played like this far. They keep finding ways to lose. Toronto and Seattle match up well, always good games.
being a blue jays fan breaks my heart on a regular basis.
The problem has an continues to be the fact that the Jays fans are being led to believe this team is a winner and ready to win the division and beyond. However, there's no complete balance in this group. The starters have been good enough to compete most nights but the hitting and the bullpen is subpar. This team can only beat lowly teams and win against two or three better than .500 teams. That is a recipe to be no more than a pretender.
8 runs is hardly nothing. Sadly their ace got lit up today.
Calm down, this team is just the leafs, the sooner you accept it the less disappointment you’ll get.

Gausmans first inning was so beautiful. The splitter K for 1 then caught looking for the splitter on 2 then went right back for it. Great pitch sequences there. Would love to see more of that

Actually, what I said was, "The Mariners always find a way to break your heart. Always." (I've been an M's fan since they turned on the lights in the Kingdome in 1977. The M's will tease you with some wins, but they always find a way to break your heart. Always.)

Nice to see the Jays pitching let them down for a change. The offense had a chance to tie or go ahead in the 9th but I'm sure the bullpen would have blown it in the bottom half. So, I'm happy it ended the way it did.

What a game to be at. After 2 innings it looked like there could be a perfect game on both sides haha.
When our M’s were down by one run after the 6th, a Jays fan leaving the bathroom was like “ugh bullpen against bullpen, this might be bad” or something along those lines.
Jays fans were obviously unreal in their support but 0-6 in the last 6 at t-mobile shows it isn’t exactly rubbing off on the team 😛

If I was the owner of the Jays, I would quickly completely change course and become an avid SELLER for the trade deadline. This is the time of the year that the Jays should routinely winning MOST series. It appears instead that when they play, the pitching and the hitting are very seldom in sync. We let the opponent score a couple in the first, pitch a gem for the rest of the game and get beat in a no hitter. Or we score a bunch of runs early in the game, go dry, make defensive errors and lose my one run in the ninth or tenth.

Whoever runs the Jays: it’s time to panic now. The team has a serious management and coaching problems in the dugout. Two people at least need to go: the batting coach and the manager. Batting coach is obvious most of them cannot bat situationally; the manager simply makes game losing decisions. Next, the pull pen is terrible. Jays need to trade to make it effective.

Definitely if hitting coach doesn't go, no chance for jays to win WS. Many times camera showed that he was not engaged in dugout, unlike Don. John is sub par, but we know he will stay. Bullpen is actually quite good
