My parents made me go to bed and read. I turned on skip and pete on 104.7 out of Crestview, FL. When Gant hit that dong I went nuts yelling down the stairs. I told my dad what happened so excited and he smiled. I'll never forget that moment.

I’ve lived in Massachusetts my whole life but as a kid loved the Atlanta Braves. I became so obsessed with them I would watch every game on TBS. I remember staying up late to watch this very game, which wasn’t on TBS but on ESPN Sunday Night baseball. I was 11 at the time. I was the only one in the house up, both of my parents upstairs in their bedroom asleep. I was downstairs directly below them in the living room. When Ron Gant hit that homer over the left field wall I was so excited I began jumping up and down!! I made so much noise I woke my mother up who came running down the stairs!! When she saw the huge grin on my face she knew what had happened. That the Braves had come from behind and won!! What a great summer and pennant race!! I still remember that summer like it was yesterday.

I was at this game. I sat in the right field stands just above the Braves dugout. Klesko's homer was one of the most impressive I've ever seen in person - it seemed like it was still rising as it reached the right field bleachers. One of the most impressive homers I've ever witnessed. Gant's game winning homer seemed inevitable in that electric atmosphere. Those of us in the crowd almost expected it to happen! Thanks for bringing back such a wonderful memory!

I am a Reds fan residing in Atlanta, and I attended this game with a female friend who is/was a Braves fan.
We sat in the upper deck seats behind, slightly right of the Braves' dugout, so I got a good gander of Ryan Klesko's HR, it was a blast to say the least. From where we were sitting, it gave us a/the perfect view of Ron Gant's HR just barely making it over the leftfield wall.
An unbelievable comeback for the Braves, and it's safe to say that my friend made the trip home even longer, with her onslaught of razzing me, 😄...

I was enraged by the fact that they would suspend the season over what seemed to be a petty argument over their already ridiculous salaries; that said, I feel it was more the fans that suffered. That year aside, still a great decade, with alot of incredible players, throughout the league, and I feel priviledged to have been able to witness that.
