Finally I understand the mechanics of the hip elevation. Nobody has taught to use the shin, rather most other videos are teaching to use the thigh as pivot point. This is definitely a game changer for me. Thank you so much JonThomas and Margot Ciccarelli.
Hi Jon, I’m thinking of getting your instructional DVD with Stephen Kesting of Grapplearts. I’m really interested in the part of the instructional that goes into guard retention. Do you go much deeper into that concept than what you out on your YT channel?
That (missing) detail on the leg is probably why my bolos end up in a half as*ed crab ride with my training partner's back flat on the mat. I am sometimes able to lock hands around the thighs and come up for a pass instead of the back take but it's a lot of work/risk for much less of a payout. Let's see how long it takes to fix. Ty
Different from Margot I actually like to keep my knee against the opponent thigh as opposed to facing the floor. I dont understand why she finds that easier. My bolo would slip if I did it her way.
Margot would be a great teacher.... The way she explains things is so understanding and easy to follow
i really hope she opens a gym one day this level of instruction is super uncommon in the bjj world
By far one of the best bolo mech vids on yt
🙏🙏🙏

I love doing this when a mofo is trying to hit me with a straight ankle lock. Surprises the hell out of them.
And a bolo playlist please 😃
That’s an idea
