Yeah I'm a big fan of Chael, but I'm fully with you on this one. It's not enough to simply say he's a tough guy. You have to atleast briefly address previos harsh comments that you made pre fight, and admit you were wrong. You can't just throw a small complement out there "He's a tough guy" followed by a negative comment "He's a bad fighter", then use that complement as a excuse to completely act like all the pre fight comments never happened and then bypass admitting you were way off on this 1.

Yes I absolutely agree. And if you remember back when Askren first accepted Jake’s challenge Jake didn’t respond back to Askren right away, I will put money on it that Jake did research on Askren real quick to determine if he could win the fight or not and once he watched Askrens boxing (or lack there of) in a video he knew he could win and finally responded back and accepted the challenge. Now that’s not an uncommon thing but most boxers usually don’t research their opponent until after the challenge has been accepted and they will only research their opponent to think of a strategy they can use to defeat their opponent and not if they should accept the challenge. I would also put money on it that if Askrens boxing was good enough to make Jake feel as though he wouldn’t have won the fight he wouldn’t have accepted it. Jake will not get the respect he so desperately wants if he continues picking and choosing his fights the way he does, he needs to get put onto the boxing roster and attempt to raise through the ranks like a real boxer if he’s ever going to be respected or recognized as a boxer. Jake may be tough, just like Chael is saying, but he is not a professional boxer, not yet at least.

the paul brothers went to lakewood highschool and graduated in 2012. i went to strongsville highschool and graduated in 2011. our highschools are 20 minutes apart. cleveland ohio is a tough place to grow up. you have to work for evrything you have here. after seeing chael talk about jakes father, it reminded me alot about mine. my father is a vietnam vet, lived in cleveland ohio his whole life. came from nothing. if you become successful in cleveland ohio, you can make it anywhere in the united states. its a tough tough place and thats no joke. the sun dont shine and it snows in may. im not surprised after hearing this from chael, that jake is a tough kid. northeast ohio is a concrete jungle and only the tough survive

If you never trained boxing you will never respect his training ethic, he is a consistent kid with a world class team by his side and seems to respect boxing more than most of the people who pretend they understand boxing and hate on him.

The guy who beat Mir is a 2x world boxing champion named Steve Cunningham. In his prime years, he put Tyson Fury on the floor while being the smaller fighter. Fury went on to win the match, but still has Steve ranked as one of his hardest fights, and credits him for his change in style. He's a good fighter, but he is also 44 years old now.
I look forward to the rest of the trilogy. First, a wrestling match and then an mma fight with Askren.
