"Consider it Fixed"
"Better Than Factory"
We Need a T-shirt of this
""Better Than Factory,"" Almost ! 👍
I always love seeing the joy on your face when you get a device working even though you have been doing the same job for a long time.
same for me, is like a kid!. love that smile, its seems like he loves what he do for living
@@MultiLexxus exactly 😍
Looks like the job is easy, but literally it is difficult if you don't have enough knowledge, experience and of course the right tools. Good work.👏👏👏👍
Considered it fixed!
Correct
It's the combination of the trinity : Knowledge, Experience and Tools
To buy tools is easy, to learn something takes effort, but experience is about time and patience. Good job, again 🙂
@@vf3378 if you come from wealthy family then yes, but not everyone is that wealthy. I mean to buy those fancy tool like thermal cam, soldering station
I’ve been retired for a couple of years now. Never thought I would say this but you actually make me miss fixing things for a living. I still potter at home but your enthusiasm is infectious.
The feeling you get from turning something on that was previously broken and now works again is very nice.
Perfect I need to order that tool I am completely convinced after watching you use it after the last month or 2. I will say that low melt solder has been awesome to use and your wick you sell has to the best I have ever used hands down, and I have tried lots of them. Great job thanks again for sharing I learn something on ever video you put out.
Awesome job Alex. The right tools are so important. Makes the job very easy every time.
God bless this lovely man !
for those asking it takes me 30-45 mins to diagnose and find short with no thermal cam.
-identify short on MOSFET
-solder a wire to shorted side
-inject voltage with non-linear PSU
-I start feeling board with my hand ( if high amperage it will burn the skin ) if not obvious or whole board is getting warm I use alcohol on parts of the board and see where it evaporate
-desolder wire on short
-remove CAP and never change it !! ( I never replace cap because 1) I have no capacitance meter 2 ) Even if I know the value I can't find part 3 ) IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE ! )
ps*: through hundreds of repairs I only found it kinda important to replace CAP on signal areas: Wifi / bluetooth
@@laboratorioassembler I understand, I'll test the difference in heat on the MOSFETS once I get the multimeter from alex, it has thermometer
That smile when he says "It's working" is the best moment 😄
His confidence in the moment he found the short 😎
Haha yeah 😊
I think by now you could also add a t-shirt to your merch section where "Let's save the world from complaints" is printed on.
This never gets old...always manages to put a smile on my face..a job well done 👍👍👍
Very relaxing to see something electronic with to many components fixed and have life again. Good job!
Been repairing all day man, you give me so much energy to do this 😄
Keep the spirit 🙏🏼
I always have pandora playing. Aslong as I have music playing I can work on boards all day 😆
You've inadvertently made an interesting point. The thermal cam and voltage injection tool collectively are expensive items. At first blush, a tech mayn't want to invest $400 to $700 in such equipment. I've been watching for a few months and it's likely you only record a fraction of the work you actually do. From the few jobs you've highlighted on video, I don't think it's too much to say that those devices have already paid for themselves several times over. The most valuable thing you possess is time and if it takes you less time to complete a job, that leaves more time to complete other jobs which in turn equate to more money being made because you can process jobs at a faster rate.
The thermal cam and voltage injector pair are like magic wands that grant you more time. When used correctly, these are some of the best investments a tech could ever make for this type of work.
Here here!
Excellent work, Alex. Big Boss should be commended for his hard work as well. To be able to disassemble and then reassemble all the different devices you get is a huge skill on it's own. I've been taking things apart since I was a child (but early on, definitely not getting them back together correctly). My mom hated me doing it but it has served me well in my life and jobs. Give Big Boss a huge thumbs-up! 👍
Thanks for all those tutorial, the way you solve problems is step by step which makes it easy to understand.
I love how it always says : A few moments later".. when anyone who has rebuilt a laptop knows it takes a tad longer than a moment :)
The voltage injection tool and thermal cams are priceless tools for finding shorts, but I can't help but to notice your test leads for multimeter. It doesn't look like your common leads. Can you explain those.
Ya but the one thing about voltage injection is that without proper tools and understanding you can easily do irreversible damage. When it comes to graphics cards you want to make sure the main power rails aren't shorted to vcore before you inject voltage. So its not as simple as it looks.
I absolutely love it when he gets happy after a successful repair!
You have inspired me to get back into electrical repair.. I have spent a lot of my life keeping other people living their dream. Time to focus on myself. Salute!
How do you know what value of capacitor to put if the capacitor is broken?
i have the same question.....
I have the same question?
Bypass capacitors probably all the same general value, but I'm only guessing.
Anyone else expecting the red triangle from the movie "predator" when he was toggling the termal cam modes?? 🤣🤣
No but now that u mention it 😂
A good way to start the day, watching a NorthridgeFix video, with a successful repair.
Brilliant once again. Really need to get around to getting a thermal camera. Nice and happy when a difficult job is done. When jobs go bad, it makes you sad. Customers are just amazed that the job is done and fully working for a good price. Keep up the good work.
Creative as usual, but how did you know the value of the capacitor?
yes... good question...
Amazing job!
What is the Cap value? How can you tell?
Thanks
just look the same size
@@chendry looking the same size doesnt cut it in this instance, it must be the same as same electronically as well, he must have changed before on a previous repair to know what voltage and what capacitance it is, size isnt everything LOL
Your videos are very satisfying to watch. Thanks!
5 Days no video, feels like something is missing in daily life.
Came here to see what's up. I'm hopeful he's just taking a break. The dude deserves it!
@@SydHeresy yes seems like it.
How did you knew the Ratings of the capacitor?
Same question over here. Did he had the schematic ?
Really enjoy seeing your reactions in your videos and your sense of humor is great. Keep up the good work.
Good job man,you make repairs easy.the joy on your face encourages me to do more...TnX
You can recycle those dead caps and use them as 0-ohm resistors ;)
there pennys lol
Only if it weren’t a joke
Good one :D
Great work! Your enthusiasm is out of this world!
The beauty of the thermal cam!! And having the right equipment Makes the job easier every time, great video thanks for the lesson
You can do the same with ice spray and a power supply on hand (with slectable voltage ob about 0,8-1V). You only need the fancy stuff if you wanne make a business, so the tools pay for itself.
Great job Alex diagnosing it, you make it look easy.
I took a break from repairs but I still love your videos.

I love your videos watching them has made me grow technically . I tried to put into practice some of the techniques I learn from your videos. The only major limiting factor for me in the part of the world where I am are the high quality tools that you have. How I wish I could have a tool kit such as yours.
Hi Daka, thanks for the comment. You are so right. I really hope to build a college for juniors in any country in Africa someday. I now realize just how much knowledge passed us by especially the tools part. With the right tools, we can get so many more people interested in engineering.
Nice repair. The power of thermal-cam and voltage-injection tool. They are both really indispensable. Thank you for the video
