Today was an absolutely unforgettable and special day, being able to go on the Orient Express from Venice to London - it would've not been possible without the support of Omaze - thank you :)
We woke up for sunrise in Venice and were picked up by our water taxi transfer to take us to the Venice train station. There we were given our train tickets and boarded one of the most luxurious trains in the world, an overnight experience which would take us through 5 different countries, starting in Italy and ending in the UK.
This Luxury Train experience with art deco design is a once in a lifetime that takes you back to what travel was like in the 1920's, one we are super thankful to be able to say we did in the future, from the Michelin star dinners, breakfast and 4 course lunches to waking up in a different country and seeing the sunset in another.
The Trip includes:
- One night aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express luxury train
- Dedicated steward service
- Welcome glass of sparking wine
- Four course dinner
- Coffee, tea and deserts
- Continental breakfast served in your cabin
- A delicious three course brunch searched on the Belmond British Pullman luxury Train
You go on the Arlberg Railway going from Venice, Italy to Austria, through Germany, Lichtenstein, France and the UK.
You go through the channel from France to the UK and board the Belmond British Pullman to end the journey to London.

I love this video! The train looks so cool
Hello from LAOS. My partner and I are traveling from Venice to Rome and toward Greece. Can we still enter into this good cause?
It was a excellent vlog. Beautiful food and scenery. 😁
Love your Channel, but I'm curious, as to, how, you an afford, to travel like this. I Don't see, your working, while gone.
Cris LeRose ho.
Only disappointing part is having to sleep through switzerland!
Doh, that is the first thing I thought of and commented. You beat me to it!
I would have stayed up for that! Lol
Second to not being able to shower before bed
Hahahahajahajajajajajahaahhahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahha
What about the other way round? Watching this now amidst the COVID-19 pandemic is like a world's away and just hope we could safely travel again soon.
"Sleep through the night in Switzerland"! That's a serious drawback! The BEST scenery of train travel is in Switzerland. Just imaging all these Alps and Lakes you missed!
Take a trip on the Bernina Express afterwards or before.
Taking the trip the other way round (London-Venice) lets you see Switzerland in the daylight.
ruiyuan dong ...i have TONS of fabulous photos and video of the Swiss Alps and country side. Great thing about older carriages like the Orient Express is that the windows can be lowered for non reflecting photos/video...AND, the smells of nature are wonderful too!
I took Glacier Express once, from St Moritz all the way to Zermatt. This was quite some years ago, in early 2000. Yes, lots of pictures and video, but unfortunately they are Kodak films and analog 8mm video tapes! The trip took a good part of a whole day. This was before the new modern carriage with giant viewing windows. Even with the old regular carriage, this was still THE BEST rail travel for my whole life so far. That is actually the reason for my first comment above. It is quite a loss to miss all that beautiful scenery.
Yeah exactly. Going to Venice is basically the only nice option then. Rather not sleep through Switzerland
The whole thing is a dream for me. As someone who grew up in a developing Asian country, I was reading about Orient Express and luxury trains in a children's encyclopedia book as a kid and thought how fabulous this European train was, then as an adult realising such thing no longer exists until now learning that you can still have a glimpse of that experience like you guys. One day i'd get on that train. It is expensive, but it is like sleeping inside a palace, it is a piece of history. The whole thing is about experience and one that i'd love to have.
one day, it'll be u cus u deserve to get that chance!
I'm from Asia as well (Singapore) and I'd love to ride on the Orient Express too, because it's famous. I'd watched the 2001 and 2010 on-screen versions of 'Murder on the Orient Express' too.
I too will love to do but we have two luxurious trains in India too which are equally awesome. One in Rajasthan the other in Maharashtra
I am from India as well... I love traveling and history but I don't think I would pay that amount to be on this train... coz as a vegetarian Indian, I don't think I ll love the food or the cramped cabin... though I like continental food... still not worth the money... just my thought...

One day, I will ride the Orient Express, and I will take my mum with me. She's the one I watch Poirot with!
That's a lovely comment ❤️❤️
I took my mom on the Mississippi Queen paddle boat down the Mississippi. It was a wonderful trip.
Poirot boarded at Istanbul
Only took 30 seconds for this to go on my bucket list. So sophisticated and beautiful
😀 Start saving... 💰👋
@@brendamariebatty2055 I checked the prices, looks like I'll just be enjoying the video 😎
sophisticated is another word for stuck up and fake
@Dashrath Bhargav on the list doesn't mean I can afford it🤷♂️
Same. I'm feeling like Sheldon Cooper rn
You have no idea how jealous and emotional I am while watching this episode. It has been a lifetime dream for me to ride the Orient Express. I vow to take my wife on the 6-day journey for our 10 year anniversary!! You guys are amazing!!!
I was so emotional watching this too. I’m 25 and one day hope to take my mum on this.❤️
I also got emotional!! Bucket list
One of my dreams as well!
did ya do it?
I've been dreaming of this for decades. Taking my husband in March for our 30th anniversary!
Europe has some of the Best Trains and this one is number one, wonderful restored carriages, pure class.
thanks to belmond company that hopes to profit from it but in reality they are good people preserving culture that it not the case with concorde supersonic aircraft that discontinued so I believe belmond should market orient express rides to schools to students interested in history and literature also in your video background was italian frecciarossa 1000 train that has executive class with 180 degree motorised rotating seats like in private jet that has speed of 400 km per hour
I would feel constantly underdressed on that train. :o
I'd try to get 1920s style formal clothing (movie costumes and replica's) and wear that all the time. There was a new movie based on Murder on the Orient Express made in 2017 maybe you can get the costumes from that on eBay or somewhere.
@@Ozymandias1 I have that movie on Blu-Ray and I was indeed thinking about the dresscode in that.
Granted we don't live in the 1920's anymore but that interiour decoration simply asks you to adapt to it in some form.
After all if you have the cash lying around to afford traveling with this train, there should be some left over to dress properly.
@@Quotenwagnerianer Within 2 months and some we will be living in the 20s, so it would be nice to pay some homage to that decade of the previous century.
I really don't care. I eat breakfast in a 5 star hotel in a hotel bathrobe.

What differentiates you guys from other travel vloggers is the MUSIC!! It matches the mood you are experiencing which enables me to feel the same vibe while watching!!
I'm writing this in 2019. One day I will ride the Orient Express ❤
@@whoopigoldberg3047 it doesn't bother me anyways.
I hope you do :)
how much is the ticket price for one passenger ?

Hey . there is a beautiful train ride in Sri Lanka :)
It costs $3250 per person to go from Venice to London one way on that train.
thank you.
I just don’t think it’s worth that much! Beautiful nonetheless.
It is basically about the special experience. I would not take a train just in order to travel from Venice to London.
@@itsjustmyopinionbut1671 Same. That's way too much. MAYBE 1500 at the very most.
Biglighteyes plane first class tickets cost that much on a trip almost 3 times further. Should be around a business class price, 1500-2000 ish
My wife and I spent our last leg of our Honeymoon on the Orient Express in 2016. Special times.
I live in Innsbruck and had no idea this train is stopping here! What a dream 😍 This is now on my bucket list - what a lovely experience!
One of the best orient express vids I have seen. Detailed and from a very personal touch
I love that you have dedicated this to your Grandfather! So sweet. Thank you for sharing this journey! This is a dream vacation for me. I can't wait for the day that I get to book my trip!
Since I was in highschool, Ive dreamed of going to the UK. England will be a forever dream for me. 🥺♥️ What a beautiful place. I wish everyone is being blessed like this way and successful as they are so that we can also see the beauty of England. Thank you for sharing this beautiful experience!
*drooling* I don't usually like luxury travel... but this train just takes it to the next level. Thanks for the idea!
If I were able I would do this in a heart beat. It was more beautiful a trip than I could have imagined. The landscape and the train were breathtaking.
Imagine watching Harry Potter movies in this aesthetic train before bedtime ✨
Well if you ever make a travel plan, The London-Edinburgh sleeper takes the same route as the Hogwarts Express and is thousands cheaper! That english train was amazing though!
I will watching at the widows all the time, I even do that on plane 😂
Oh you guys this video is SO beautiful! I went on the Orient in June and you've just made me so nostalgic for my most treasured trip of all time. So happy you also got to experience this magic. I went from Paris to Venice on my route so managed to have the daytime to see Switzerland but otherwise our trips are so beautifully similar! xoxo
My first time watching and I smiled from ear to ear the entire time! Someday, I will be riding the Orient Express too!❤️
Cheers from London!😘🇬🇧
Wow. Just amazing. This train is so luxurious. It is a 5 star hotel on wheels. And the amazingly beautiful landscapes when the train runs through the country side and mountains is just out of this world. You two are a cute couple.
A luxury hotel without shower and not private toilet?
@@elkeospert9188 For $3,500 you pee in the sink. No thanks.
it’s nice that you’re always smiling, really brightens your viewers day. thank you for showing me a part of the world that i will most liklely not be able to go to in this lifetime.
YOU BOTH COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER & EXPLAIN EACH & EVERY MINUTE DETAIL PATIENTLY & SMILINGLY WHICH CREATES A VERY PLEASING & THOUGHT PROVOKING AMBIANCE FOR THE VIEWER. GREAT!
I love the music choices for your videos. They always really fit what we are watching.
Thank you :) took a while on this one to find the perfect songs - even dipped into some classic/vintage ones too
Indeed ,I saved some also
What an amazing experience! I love the look of the train, all the wood and vintage vibes! Wow!
Us too - it's really the vintage look of the train that makes it extra special!
Travel-Vlogger coming to a formal dinner: wears a shirt.
Everyone else: wears formal dinner attire (black tie).
Speaks volumes to the amount of cultural immersion he's prepared to do.
Young people in general don't really own tuxedos! It's understandable these days for formal to just mean a plain suit, or even just a button up for a young man.
@@headphonic8 you can rent them. No Biggie ;)
He sounds South African
I was just wondering why these idiots fid not adhere to the dress code. They both looked sloppy and disrespectful.
Completely agree. Especially considering they are going to profit from this trip and can definitely afford to adhere to the dress code you’d think they’d have made slightly more effort. Those outfits wouldn’t be appropriate for most indoor sit down dinners let alone a place that explicitly calls for black tie
One of my goals! I would dress up and buy vintage lv trunks and enjoy the Orient Express :)
This was so beautiful. I'm glad you got your dream to be on that train. Stay safe and blessed to both of you🙌😊
I’ve watched this video before the one that she learned she’s pregnant. Then i came back and watched one more time and realize how happy and exited they are. What a lovely family 😍
Can I just say how much I love the soundtrack that plays during this video! It’s perfect.
such an extra ordinary vlog, simple yet elegant in special way
I like how this is an old and luxurious train being pulled by regular Austrian freight locomotives (class 1116 (front) and 1044 (rear) for everyone who's interested) which you can see at 0:08 ; 9:31 and you can see the class 1116 being attached at 10:58 lol
That was an absolutely beautiful train! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It had such old world class and those views were amazing.
The Bavarian Alps are the most amazingly gorgeous setting my eyes have ever seen, ahh to have a House right in the valley.
Thank you both for sharing your lovely adventure on the Historical Orient Express, it was beautiful. Stephen I swear you look exactly like my brother Bruce who sadly passed away some year's ago, so it's true.....everyone has a twin out there somewhere in the world. Have a wonderful life together and again Thank you.
At 11:20 I almost expected her to turn around and start singing: "the hills are alive with sound of music...." :-)
going to the alps in Switzerland has been my dream after watching the sound of music as a child :,)

What a shame having to go through Switzerland at night. It is like sleeping through a royal wedding.
Seen the Swiss alps through railjet and you're absolutely right
A royal wedding ending in divorce.
Such a beautiful journey. I love this video so much. Good luck for you two.
Thank you Salma!!
Congrats Mr&Ms Parry-Valentine! You truly deserved this wonderful gift and Thanks for sharing with us!
I love this music you have ..... beautiful..... I just booked this train for my husband birthday..... thank you for this ...... lovely
The nearest I've come to the Orient Express was to see it arrive into Paris earlier this year. It had taken me around 20 years to coincide a visit to the city with the train's arrival, and I was grinning like the Cheshire Cat as I was standing on the platform. It's such a beautiful train, and you are so privileged to travel on it. Excellent video guys.
I'm not really into trains, but that looks special... I would love to take that train from Paris to Turkey.. Wow, the sights you must see on that journey. Beautifully filmed and I think you really captured the essence of the journey.
Murder on the Orient Express is one of my favourite movies. You did a great job showing us the train. Thank you.
The best "Orient Express" seen so far! Love your music and video. Outstanding work.
The Orient Express is definitely on our bucket list. Looks way more luxurious than any other night train☺️
Impressive drone flying, you must be brave to try and get it back into the train. Wow
Prolly filmed it before or after (another train)
It's great that you were able to do this journey, and make a video of it that your grandpa could watch at home.
You two are just gorgeous, You both make me feel happy, Thank you and safe travels.
Why did I tear up in this? this is amazing. One day I will do this 😍

That is an amazing looking train, just a bit more luxurious than the Polish train... hoping to see some London vlogs!
We went back in 2000. Thanks for bringing back a lot of wonderful memories!

Thank you for this video. I like how you showed the luxury of the journey and also made it informative. Educational and beautiful.
Venice now added to my my bucket list.I really loved your travel series. I hope you enjioy everything!
Papa June Walker venice is definitly not as beautiful as you can see it in their video or pictures on the internet !! actually a smelly and pretty ugly city
We love Venice - such a cool little floating city!
Don't bother, it's a rip off, the people are rude and it stinks.
so magical, like in a movie
Am seriously fangirling right now. It's like Poirot's world came to life!!!!
This was so beautiful to see! Thank you for sharing! Nothing like the nightmare train trips you hear about!💖
Fabulous video and what a train. I have always been obsessed with the Agatha Christie novel and I hope to travel on here one day. A quick primer on gentleman's dress code though - formal attire is a dinner jacket and bow tie. Business Casual is a lounge suit. Casual is as you were dressed but even then a jacket would be expected.
The only thing is that Agatha Christie's novel "Murder on Orient Express" fabula is happening in Croatia (one of earlier train's routes). City: Brod (today's Slavonski Brod). Cheers
I thought the same thing. At the least a tie and jacket x
Their channel is literally very under rated, they deserve much more subscribers.
Stephen is such a sweet guy, he's so thoughtful and so sweet
I havn'e been out anywhere in so long because of lockdown that just listening to the ambiance in the eating places (cutlery on plates and people talking) makes me so reminiscent of the past
Hello there, very nicely put over, good camera work

Seems so cool and beautiful, the only thing that would make it better would be ur tea making skills 😂

That is my dream to ride on that train one day with my husband...loving all your vlogs❤️❤️👍
It's amazing. We enjoyed and explored with you. Thank you . From Bangladesh
This train is so cool! Love the wooden cabin in the train . I am glad you got the chance to do this trip which was your childhood dream

Outstanding, I have to do this one day!
Thank you for the beautiful tour, I also love the movie, both of them.
Thankyou for sharing your beautiful experience! Makes me wanna go!
Lovely, this is actually better than going on a cruise😍
I much prefer a Viking cruise, than anything else. Tried Cunard, rode IC trains, did sleepers in Norway, but the Viking cruises are phenomenal.
Def not as comfortable as a cruise...
they are trapped in a small cabin and a cramped train with no onboard activities or shore excursions
Tell me i'm not the only one who keeps reading the title "Venice Simpleton Orient Express" lol
It’s also been a dream of mine to travel on the Orient Express because of watching the movie when I was a child. I am definitely going to do it one day. Dreams can come true. Thank you for sharing your experience.
what a beautiful train and the journey u guys just done, lucky people to have these kind of trains and luxury systems in your country, wish to visit such kind of journey... so glad to see you guys good luck.
How did you get drone shot of running train? Content quality is exquisite :).
Bharadwaj they used storyblox, I used the same shot for my client’s project. There is no way they could have flown the drone from the train like that
@@amberjacobs9288 is it legal tho
@@hidayat1999 I haven't checked their description box, but if they've provided a link to that particular footage, then it's legal.
That drone shot isn't actually of the Orient Express, it's some other train. But I gotta agree, their content is awesome!
As a nine-year-old child, I rode from Istanbul to Germany on the Orient Express. This was long before it was refurbished.
We did not know that the dining car would be pulled from the train when we left Turkey. This was in late 1969, the year Americans landed on the Moon. My father had to hop off and on the train to exchange money and buy sandwiches or whatever he could find for food for my little brother, myself, and my mother at each station. Luckily, he had amazing linguistic abilities. Almost every stop was a new country, language, and a new currency. We often called out to him as he ran to catch the train again as it was leaving the station. Meanwhile, my little brother and I made friends with train companions who had food.
It was far from luxurious, but is was still the Orient Express. I still have my diary of that experience and my terror of my father not making it back on the train at every stop. However, it was the Orient Express! That was not lost on me. I mapped our train car, and I appreciated how iconic it was. However, it was far from the opulent situation you experienced.
You are an adorable couple. Thank you for a great view of an amazing trip. I've watched Murder on the Orient Express too many times to count and one of these days I will do the entire trip.
Your journey must have been fabulous. I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Thank you so much.

me thinking like: "this looks amazing, I want to do this".
me looking up the prices: "okay nevermind"
I thought you meant it's like £500 and that's too much... so I checked it myself to verify....
Turns out the real "orient" journey that goes to Istanbul is "only" £15,000 PER PERSON for the crap compartment and a TINY £50,000 per person for the proper room.
It does include 5 night hotel stays though... lol
😂🤣😂🤣
How beautiful and luxurious!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!

Wow!! Just found your channel through this video. Super well done! Very nice editing, very nice images, great music - and your enthusiasm really comes true very authentically. Besides the train itself that is obviously gorgeous and the scenery absolutely stunning (PS.: I live in south Germany and drive very often to north Italy, crossing Austria, and yet I never get used to the beauty of those mountains) - it has been quite pleasant to watch you both having this experience.
