      Hi there! Thanks so much for watching. I was in Italy for the entire month of May. It rained daily for the first two weeks, with brisk temperatures between 50 and 65 degrees F. By the third week of May, the days were warmer and sunny, so you’re going at an ideal time for good weather! That said, you’ll be visiting at the start of peak season. I highly recommend booking all your activities/stays and making restaurant reservations ahead of time to avoid long lines.

      @@bhumibharadwaj9813 We only took the Vaporetto 3 times during our stay. 1. The Alilaguna from the airport to our Airbnb. 2. A 75-minute pass for the self-guided tour on this video, and 3. A round-trip pass to visit Burano. These are all different tickets, we got with different price points. We decided to skip purchasing a 48-hour pass to walk as much as possible. If walking is not an issue, you can skip purchasing the 48-hour pass and get a 75-minute one. Something to remember, though, is that if you're following this guide, you'll walk for approximately 2 hours ( or more, depending on where you're staying and the order of your stops.) If you guys are ok with that, then walking on foot is the best way to see all of Venice :)

      @WheretoNau  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Thanks so much for the compliment and for watching :) Your Vaporetto ticket will take you from the airport to Venice, and no additional ticket is required. All you need to know is the neighborhood you want to stop at to determine what line to take. You can purchase your Vaporetto tickets from a vending machine right outside the airport doors, and the staff is super helpful if you get confused or have any questions. I hope this helps!

    My husband is a picky eater and would not eat anything probably in a nice restaurant. Would it be problematic if he sat and only ordered a drink and no food? Also many CZcamsrs say that if they have a menu other than in Italian that they are not authentic and are made for turists? Did you find that to be the case?

    • @WheretoNau
      @WheretoNau  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi, it honestly depends on what restaurant you visit. I don't see that being a problem for any of the restaurants featured on this vlog. As for language for the menus, I found almost everywhere we went, except for some locations in Florence(Tuscany in general) and smaller villages had menus in both Italian and English. Italy is used to having tourists, so most restaurants will cater to them as well as locals. If you find a spot where the menu is in Italian only, I suggest googling the restaurant's name and taping on the images to see some of the meals offered and show your waiter the dish you'd like.
      If you're visiting Venice, I have a separate vlog with my top 5 restaurants. These are local spots that range from street food to fine dining, and I highly recommend them :)
      You'll both love Italy! I wish you a fun and unforgettable journey :)

    • @WheretoNau
      @WheretoNau  Před 7 měsíci +1

      We went in May, which usually would be an ideal month to visit Italy. Due to climate change, the weather has been different than in past years, and for us, the first three weeks in May brought a lot of rain and slightly colder-than-average weather. If you do decide to visit in May, I would recommend the last week so you can enjoy the sunshine with less of a crowd. September/ October is also a great time to visit. Summers are hot and crowded, and winters are cold. The only upside to visiting during the winter months (Nov.-Feb) is lower prices and less of a crowd.

      The train station is right at the beginning of my suggested self-guided tour. Continue watching the video; I showcase the train station on Google Maps :)

    Too bad you say "I recommend" but don't say the name of what you recommend. Bad form.

      For example you say "Meryl Streep's favorite restaurant" or the place where the seafood is hand picked by the chef daily but you do not say the name of the osteria or whatever it is. You do this throughout the video

      @@debracrestoni1833 there's a pin with the location in the video- the name is there. All the spots have pins with the name of the place.

    Why are all these videos the same? You even suggest things to do but then explain they are super touristy, not worth the money, overrsted... Why then? Show me a place in Venice that is worth it. Not the places every venice video talks about

      These videos are all somewhat similar because if you've only got 2 days in Venice, you'll probably want to do many of the same things as everybody else who only has 2 days in Venice.
      Yes, I wouldn't go out of my way to visit the Acqua Alta bookstore. But it's free and takes 10-15 minutes if you're already in the neighborhood. And you have to admit, the restaurant suggestions are different. I've never seen anyone recommend Frito Inn before. Definitely NOT Meryl Streep's favorite restaurant!
      Plus Madonna del' Orto. Most Venice videos don't mention that church.
