A NOTE ABOUT ST MARK'S BELL TOWER: The collapse was in 1902 and not 902 and reconstruction finished in 1912. One Thousand years after the original tower went up in St. Mark's Square. We appreciate those who pointed out the typo. Thanks for your understanding.

A few years ago I spent 4 days there on our trip to Italy. Everyone told me how insane we were, how crowded it was, how touristy it was - they couldnt have been more wrong. It takes half an ounce of effort to find quiet spots in the city and I always say its like vacationing on a movie set, its that beautiful. Going back next year and taking 5 days this time around

I left 1 day ago after staying 4 days, the place is a dump. It stinks, the canals smell like sewerage it’s busy like I’ve never seen before.
Would never go back wouldn’t recommend anyone to waste their time whilst there are way more amazing sites to see with far less people.

It’s fun because those people saying Venice is quite crowded, are the same that effortlessly wait 4 hours in line for a DisneyWorld attraction.
Actually, by just using parallel streets and exploring a little you’ll surprisingly see that Venice is empty in most of its parts.
For what concerns the magnificent Saint Mark square, simply go there in the morning or in the evening to see it completely empty.
Enjoy and respect this porcelain city

Once in a lifetime experience!! I'd recommend going more than once, but you'd best check the tide times as the aqua alta could reduce your opportunity to see the lower lying districts, and best go while you still have your health, as unless you want to travel by boat, you can walk miles!

I was lucky to have lived here while I studied to receive my Master's degree from Cà Foscari. Frari church is a definite must-see experience. Besides the Assumption, there are impressive sculptures like the Mausoleum of Titian and the tomb of the sculptor Antonio Canova. I always enjoyed getting my morning coffee with the locals at Cafe Doge. The coffee and pastries are excellent, just outside the places frequented by tourists.
The tip on purchasing day tickets over single-use is very on point. This way, you can always use the Vaporetto when tired of walking or during the aqua alta. On a side note, the traghetto is a cheap and quick gondola ride, but I would like to let you know that you are encouraged to stand while crossing the canal.
Thanks again for the wonderful tour and memories of an unforgettable part of my life!

We are planning our first trip to Europe from the US. We have chosen Poland and Italy to visit and spend some time. We are just in the planning phase this video helped us to go to Vince. We are looking at less expensive places to stay and are more than likely going to be there approx a week. We want to actually spend time in few areas and see history, the culture, the people, food and music. Anything else the locations have to offer. You did a great encouraging us to visit Venice. I feel so awful! Ciara was my tour guide last June at St. Mark's Basilica. When I asked her name, I misheard it as CLara, and called her Clara the whole time.
She was one of the best guides I've had in my travels.
Sorry, Ciara. My ears are old! :D

Thank you - going to Venice tomorrow for the first time from Florence and now I have some ideas on what to do while I am there for a short trip. The ACTV Vaporetti water-buses sound perfect for just seeing the city - it was €35 now but still a bargain I think.

We are going to Venice, Italy in a few months. Your video helped me figure out what to do there for 5 days before boarding the E. Mediterranean Cruise. I am now one of your subscribers. Thank you for sharing your experience in Venice. By the way, would it be better to buy the train ticket at the station instead of buying online to go to Milan?

thank you for subscribing. Buying tickets online on my phone saves me time at train stations and then the tickets are on my phone so all I have to do is show the conductor a QR code on my phone. Also, there are often online deals that aren’t available at the train station through the official Trenitalia or Italo apps.

Hello Angel! I'm so pleased with your videos. I am wondering which is the best way to travel from Trieste port to the hotels located near St. Mark's Square. I would have to prearrange transfer. I am traveling with my mother and family. I am planning to stay at a hotel that has easy access-private jetty, so mom -86-doesn't have to walk much. This is her bucket list trip.
We will be travelling in June of 2024. I want to take your tours too. Let me know which tours are safe for mom. My mother is frugal too. I'll be footing the bill..Ha!!! Grazie!!
