A time capsule, and if I ever wanted to afford myself a trip with it I'd wear a 1920s style suit to go with it ...
It would be even better if it was pulled by historic locomotives. Steam might not be possible on many lines but there are numerous historic electric locomotives that would go quite well in front of the train.
And for the connection to Britain, maybe connect to a steamship across the channel restored in a similar style.
