I recently bought both Far Cry 3-4 for only $15. After watching this video, I'm seriously considering buying another Far Cry game. And as much realism FC2 has, I can't get over how sweet FC3 and 4 is. I'm new to the Far Cry series and I'm loving the game so far.

Far cry 3 is a good game just a little cartoonish for me tbh I didn't think any of the villians were the greatest. The freedom that far cry 2 gives you when playing is something I haven't found playing any other game. The Jackal is an interesting villain and his intentions become more sensible the longer you play the game and realize he isn't just a lunatic or nutjob like Far cry did with every entry after 3. The only problem with 2 is maybe the missions get a bit repetitive as it usually boils down to killing someone or blowing something up but the level of detail in the world of far cry 2 and the freedom to do what you want throughout most of the game is awesome. Plus all the guns are pretty good throughout the entire game. All that being said tho 3 is still a great game and I would still play 3 over 4,5, and new dawn any day of the week because the gameplay and weapons were all just recycled from 3 for those games. (sorry for the essay I don't usually do that lol)
Rockets don't really ricochet but, that misfire animation is realistic since the RPG-7 rockets self explode after 900m, if the propellant only ignited the exit and then the rest of the propellant failed to ignite, making the rocket fall to the ground and exploding after a few seconds, may be accurate if the tip of the rocked didn't hit the ground, because if it does, it will explode instantly.
Farcry 3 soulless? Farcry 2 was good, but it got repetitive real quick, the A.I was broken, gun designs were mirrored especially that ridiculous bolt action rifle, an open world that virtually had nothing to give but make you look tediously for diamonds and traveling from point A to B was very frustrating. The lack of wildlife was a real downer, despite being in Africa, sure there were a few zebras and gazelles here and there but that was about it. Farcry 3 was a different formula, while I didn't like that it was easier, it was also a lot more fun. The big downside is that yeah, Ubisoft never actually changed the formula after Farcry 3.
There has to be Far Cry game that will make use of good mechanics from Far Cry 2. It was stunning game, still is. Just didn't have as many NPCs or animals. With new maps and more towns, NPCs, Flora and fauna the Far Cry 2 would still be the best.
Far Cry 2 has more iconic weapons, I really hate the SPAS-12 and the PKM in FC3, one of my most favorite weapons modelled in such bizarre way (Left handed SPAS-12 and a PKM with rails, grip and folding stock)

Far cry 2 is much better than far cry 3 in many aspects. One is because of it's realism. Rockets ricochet, guns jam and eventually explodes, malaria kills, fire spreads. And also due to its insane difficulty. Especially if you play in hardcore and infamous mode, you'd suffer firstly from lack of ammo - especially when you equip assault weapons like AK, G3 KA4, machine pistol etc. , and then from the lack of meds - both for malaria and syrettes. Also, enemies can damage you more than other easier modes. Cars also crash easily. 10 or 12 shots from any gun is enough to make a car emit gray smoke from engine. Also, enemies spot you from far away, and that's why some missions are better to be tackled at night and when you get a stealth suit from the armory, because at night and in stealth suit, enemies find it more difficult to spot you.
I think far cry 2 wins, in terms of graphics the 3 wins, more in the matter of realism, things that make sense and the enemies (bots) are a little more realistic, in this case,far cry 2 wins

Far cry 2 is the best in the series and it’s not close honestly
Far cry 2 is much better than far cry 3 in many aspects. One is because of it's realism. Rockets ricochet, guns jam and eventually explodes, malaria kills, fire spreads. And also due to its insane difficulty. Especially if you play in hardcore and infamous mode, you'd suffer firstly from lack of ammo - especially when you equip assault weapons like AK, G3 KA4, machine pistol etc. , and then from the lack of meds - both for malaria and syrettes. Also, enemies can damage you more than other easier modes. Cars also crash easily. 10 or 12 shots from any gun is enough to make a car emit gray smoke from engine. Also, enemies spot you from far away, and that's why some missions are better to be tackled at night and when you get a stealth suit from the armory, because at night and in stealth suit, enemies find it more difficult to spot you.
If farcry2 and farcry3 combined... It'll be a perfect cool game

Far cry 2 was way ahead of it’s time sad that they didn’t add the realistic features from far cry 2 in the other games.

I really don't get why Ubisoft still mirrors the image of the Spas-12, SVD, and a lot of the other firearms.
Right? What about that retarded rail rear sight in the SPAS, that is ridiculous. In FC2 it was left handed too but at least it had the stock on it and the correct rear sight.
I am not a firearm expert but someone told me the ejection port is often on the left for SVD rifles because in the case of a right handed shooter, he can reload the gun without taking is hand off the trigger
