I adore that they all bring their flag on stage with them for that flag parade like a genuine beautiful patriotism and proudness to represent their country and millions of people

2019 was absolutely the best. This one was terrible in comparison. They had good ideas with the LED sticks but they made so little use of it in the camera ):

@@samsmid5241 Taste is indeed subjective. Personally I'm not a huge fan of too much CGI. 2019 had the perfect mix of integrating camera work and show with the stage. 2021 was almost entirely digital (the houses on top were cgi, the rest of the effects were simply screens). This year had a slightly better mix but they didn't make good use of it imo, the camera didn't work in tandem with the stage. It's poor planning :s

@@stickynorth I honestly don't know, but she is 21 and Dutch (I mean, gay marriage was already legal in the 🇳🇱 Netherlands, the first country on the planet to ever legalise it when she was just a 1 year old baby), so probably haha everyone is a little bit part of the 🏳️🌈 LGBT community, especially in Nordic and Western countries of Europe. And if not, she is a great ally!

Funny how so little people cheered for Måneskin last year because the public were focused on their local entry yet they became the most successful act from that contest and this year they were silent for Rosa Linn and only cheered for Italy yet Rosa Linn became this year’s most successful act and nobody even remembers what Italy sent.

@@irishuisman1450 It’s not that they cheered for their countries, it’s that they went almost completely silent on other acts, which is rude af.
The truth is that Tik Tok went better for Lisa Linn than ESC and if you state nobody cares of Brividi you’re just hating, and you know it. Maybe you’re 12yo but everybody knows that cheers in the final and being popular months later are not always related. Let’s say it: Snap is a great song for teens taste, she even performed as if she were into her room wearing pyjamas. Way better cheering the sexy Spain. Even Ukraine didn’t get as much as others. UK was cheered also and came 2nd.
The most important thing is that the audience was international, but adults, and they just didn’t recognised the incredibly revolutionary value of Snap and the paper sheets.
I keep rewatching because reasons, but I can't help finding it dark, knowing that the great arch was supposed to be an integral part of the lightshow, the flags made by the lights look like they're missing the rest of the half circle. Plus the big white light that explodes at the centre, at every new country is very isolated when you track the spread of the light to the exterior. Like a drop of water and its ripples, or an oil splat or a shockwave of fibres. I can't help but wonder what the artists wanted to REALLY show.
Yeah the visuals on the tiny circle from the sun were supposed to be on the entire sun, that would have made the explosion-visual look much much better. It was supposed to explode in the middle, the shockwave would have travelled to the edges of the sun, and then there would be the shockwave effect "outside" of the sun (which we can still see). Pretty much every country reused the sun visuals on the tiny circle btw. Serbia, Latvia, Ireland... They just scaled it down and created a tiny sun.

@@ekx5120 Serbia has uploaded their visuals as an Animation and you can see what it was supposed to look like. Also, in the stand in rehearsals of Albania and Ireland you can see the tiny-circle-visuals on the entire sun

To be fair, I’m pretty sure the Netherlands had more time to perfect their flag parade due to the 2020 contest being cancelled
@@someothername7886 You're definitely right about that. They actually had two years to prepare and perfect everything. What bothered me about this flag parade was simply that the camera angles weren't as good as in the previous flag parades. (Israel and Netherlands).

I’m annoyed that it’s so obvious what disliked countries are. Of course cheer for your favourite louder, but the lack of cheers for some make me upset and I feel bad for the person representing them. Like come on, Azerbaijani dude & Estonian dude seem so sweet yet I heard hardly anything for them.. :/
