I think the ref gets major credit. Too many times the refs get ragged on but this guy was great. He kept control and cautioned when necessary. All the stud challenges are yellow cards and he was consistent with the punishment. This guy gets an A+. It also helps when the level of soccer is great too. Both teams fought hard and played well
I agree, he only gave 1 wrong decision. Everything else was spot on. Also 13 could be a great player if he tried to lift his head up and look or simpler passes.
This has got to be the BEST performance of a referee I have ever seen. Carded appropriately, called fouls, talked to the players just an excellent referee!
That's was probably the best overall game I've watched on this channel. Good players, competent ref, and no Karens in the stands. 😂

@@JT-wu2if this is higher level , league 1 it’s semi pro some players get payed to play as well and also get drafted to the CPL.

100% agree. My wife thinks I’m a tad looney watching soccer in my free time - but hey, we all have a little weirdness about us - or we aren’t good referees ;)
#13 on yellow team is an absolute menace, as always fantastic video!
As a refferee watching him give the first yellow card at the 8 minute mark was orgasmic. Late tackle, player didnt go down, made the pass to his teammate but it was at midfield and no clear advantage for the attacking team to do anything on a break and he blows his whistle hard and goes running in fast with yellow already raised in the air and telling the other player to walk away calmly but very verbal and clear he wants no altercation...a thing of beauty by this center ref

Really good game to watch and the reffing, after we see so many bad efforts, was quite good. I think at times, the ref was a bit aggressive, but controlled the game very well.

Ref was giving out yellows like they were candy on Halloween. I get discipline, but I think this was a little too much.
He had to. Even after all those yellows, players were still fouling and arguing. This is one of the better refs I've seen on the channel imo.
@@DominickYordy2 I agree to a certain extent. Most players deserved yellows, but some didn't even get warning. Regardless of keeping the game under control.
they were tackling like they have national health insurance.

It was a good game, I honestly think the way the ref was calling yellows though he could've just gave black #18 two back to back yellows and red card him. First yellow 20:22, Second yellow 20:57. Both reckless challenges imo. I'm also not really sure if the ref was in control of it when people were making sloppy fouls one after the other.. Maybe could've slowed the tempo of the game down somehow by talking to players, etc. But also the size of the fields in Canada are much smaller and this causes high contact, and faster plays. I definitely think the black team played better fundamentally with their passes. Good game to watch. TY IST!

Yellow team scored a free kick from a foul that never happened. 🤦🏻♂️
6:32 It drives me nuts how some goalies on free kicks play that side of the net to block a free kick. It's so much harder to spin the kick to that side and get it into the net, while with the closest side, players who are masters with the free kick will treat the wall like it's nothing. So why even play that side to begin with? It would've been much easier to block if he stayed in the middle
