Everyone is beefing on the referee, but I think he did really well. He was in position on almost every call, most of his foul calls (not all of them but most), were pretty accurate, he waits to call some fouls that could be potential advantages and I think he played them really well too. He is able to clarify on how the game is playing and how much contact there is and he starts to adjust to it either calling it tighter or looser. Yes, the offside calls could have been more accurate but everyone is human. We must respect referees as they are putting in a lot of work to call the game to the best of their abilities and I think players, coaches, and parents often lack this respect. Treat everyone equally and if you hate a call that a referee makes, suck it up and deal with it.

This is what happens when you have a sport where the players are allowed to get aggressive with officials, it breeds a lack of respect for both officials and players. The sport is rampant with bad tackles, dives and theatrics by players. Having played soccer in both Ireland and Canada, I can also say with confidence that i find North American players to be soft, whiney and v disrespectful to eachother and officials - its sad really
