The best thing about Furiosa is it helping Garfield make money.
I saw the trailer for Furiosa and wanted nothing to do with it. Looked like a bunch of seizure-causing cgi smashed together.
I'm just not interested in movies anymore. Hollywood can lament and wail that they're losing $$$, but its their own fault. There's NOTHING coming out that I want to see this year. Even Dune Part 2 was *very* underwhelming.

I have plans to see three films this weekend: Ezra which is an indie film about a divorced dad and his autistic son going on a road trip across the country, The Young Woman and the Sea which is based on a true story of the first woman to swim across the English Channel and Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle an anime film based on the manga and anime of a high school volleyball team
Also The Young Woman and the Sea was initially a Disney+ film but they tested it with audiences and got high scores from those tests that they decided to give it a limited release
I think the only films I'm going to the theater for this year might be the re-release of the Lord of the rings trilogy next month.

Nothing to celebrate. Cinema is solely for (adult) children now. Has been since 2015.
Much bigger problem is that series made for grown ups on Netflix and HBO have been (with a few exceptions) infantilized and wokified too since a year or five-ish.
Then again we still have legions of books to entertain us.

George Miller took a huge misstep backwards in releasing Furiosa when we should’ve gotten the Mad Max prequel The Wasteland that actually focuses on the titular character again because then it would’ve brought in fans of all age groups and it would’ve potentially had a chance of earning between $600,000,000 to about a billion dollars at the global box office. MISSED OPPORTUNITY!

Furiosa is a strong female character, brave and empowered... No one can defeat her... except this fat orange cat who loves lasagna...

Her character was overpowered and she certainly did not diminish Mad Max. I like Joy as an actress. The criminally underrated movie “The Menu” one of best horror films in years. She is good in Queen’s Gambit as well. Not sure she is a movie star, but good actress.
Furiosa was a pretty good film, but it should not have been called mad max. Be honest with what it is. And that’s partly why it flopped. People wanted to see mad max not the side character.
I'll be honest, I'd still rather watch a Mad Max movie without Mad Max than yet another installment in the zombie Garfield franchise
