metro giving these rappers room for their vocals
doesnt work for rappers like future who just mumble and dont really do anythinf special

@@knhgfryuimnvcdrhjnbg yeah future's his own thing but shows with Travis and other mofos

Simplicity is what gives room for an artist to flow and rap otherwise they would just be instrumentals showing off how many ghost notes of a scale that’s preloaded in the daw you can click
Lazy not the right term
Exactly 💯. It's a simple melody which is what Rappers want. Anything else is just a busy melody which is confusing
Just cause something is kind of lazy doesn’t mean it’s bad.. Metro finds brilliance in simple melodies, even if they are used more than once and that’s something he’s really good at. So no, metro isn’t a bad producer, and even if his melodies seem lazy, I’d call it a skill making something simple sound so good.
I agree.
I don't listen to his stuff but judging from the examples in this video, his stuff is basic asf and I don't see any skill
You just dont understand music production thats the case here@@blackroseromeo666
@BAKURA666 You realize that more then half of everything that comes out is basic
@@blackroseromeo666his point went over your head
Honestly I was asking myself this question today If metro is overrated and yes he has a lot of songs where he uses the same chords and even Melodies but his Sonics are honestly brilliant and it takes a lot of dedication to your craft to get to the that level. He also has some stuff with some synthwave influence that I also enjoy like overdue or self love fi
metro doesn’t master his tracks lmao you’re giving credit to the wrong person
@@jxrdanemrey i never said anything about mastering
@@brandonramirez7101 which is why you shouldn’t comment publicly on topics you don’t understand. a producer can make a track and it’s a basic mix, but your sound engineers and mastering engineers make the track sound professional and in metro’s case, a platinum record.
@@jxrdanemrey Bro mastering will make the end result better by 20 % if i am generous the most important is the rough mix of the beat and instrumental. Metro is good at sample selection most of the time which generates most of the vibe
@@brandonramirez7101hell yeah cook that fraud
His strength IS his simplicity. He's also worked his way up the ranks and sold his soul so that's part of why he gets so many placements and opportunities. If it wasn't for Metro, trap wouldn't be where it's at (in some areas.)
What you mean sold his soul
he worked his way up the ranks and sold his soul??😂 you just contradicted yourself. Either a producer is just really good at their craft and people wanna work or they sell their soul and get the secret club pin and become industry plants, it's an either or situation
@@lancewilliams9549 No, it's both. Just like there's levels in the Kingdom of God in terms of spiritual maturity / career development, there are levels to the kingdom of darkness.
@@TimothyBornAgain 😂
@@TimothyBornAgain they can't stand the truth
People want Metro to be fucking Rachmaninoff or Thelonious Monk. I don’t get it. Like yeah the melodies and chords are simple. But there is way more to production than melody and chords. Like the actual sounds themselves, the EQing the mixing, drum patterns, etc. Just cause the melody is or chords are simple doesn’t make the entire production process simple or the track bad.
bro you could get some 9 year old to do ts. Its not that it has to be super complicated but its just downright lazy. and he doesnt do any mastering.
drum patterns lmfao, dude uses a 2 step, clap on the 3rd and a very basic 808 pattern on every song pretty much.
i bet he doesnt even mix his beats, apart from leveling
@@autury-5703was gonna comment this. not to mention he uses the same chord progression and same drum sounds for almost every beat he does
@@autury-5703but he does mix them?
@@ethank90618sounds different every time tho 🤷♂️
this chord progression is called an “amen cadence” btw. I-IV progressions were used to end off choral pieces when the choir would sing “Amen”, hence the name.
but these are in a minor scale, so it's i-iv I think
Also called a plagal cadence
it’s i-iv in minor and also amen/plagal cadence is IV-I not I-IV
Choral pieces always end on the I chord, it's basic music practice for worship music because it is more sensical and satisfying for a chord progression to resolve on its tonic. I don't think you understand that let alone what an "amen cadence" is.
Don’t EVER hate on Niagara Falls melody
Niagara Falls is so underrated
Type Shi’s melody might be weak but the drums are tough with the bell crashes etc
it's basically the same copy and paste trap beat
It’s definitely the worst I’ve heard from metro in a while. Everybody gassing it should go listen to Christmas music. That’s where you get the right sounding bells
No, he’s not bad nor is he lazy. He’s just not overcomplicating things.
These are simple notes. As I can see he is more focused on the background sounds that just barely hearable but it makes the instrumental filled and thats a skillful thing. And I think its a good thing that he doesnt overcomplicate the base melody
Thank you bro ,melodies are my biggest struggle
simple music is the best music
Music is simple whenever it’s already created mate
Less is always more. Simplicity leaves space for more music.
What the*~ as long as it's good, I don't really think it matters how it's made. Easy/lazy, hard or not... as long as it's good.
A simple melody is much better. You gotta keep in mind that the "main character" of a song is the rap, an overly complicated melody will just confuse the listener
metro didnt produce highest in the room?
Idk if it’s a mistake or calling those songs the same chords idk. Like I’m pretty sure the first time it adds appegiation, highest in the room is playing iirc
Or money in the grave 😂
i used to have simple melodies, then make complex yet smooth melodies depending how saucy and deep i want to get. works both ways to have a good track going, i think and know a lot of tracks nowadays are simple melodies still gives room for artists to rap/sing, add adlibs, vocal backgrounds, etc. it all depends on artists and/or music producers, as well sound engineers, etc on how they express their music
If it sounds good it sounds good
I been using this method good for beginner like me who learning production and wanna create something with spend to much time on a project
Metropolis Boomington is not lazy
Sounwave is super underrated
No no no nope don’t play Niagara falls off as a Travis song that’s also on metros album
Wrong word. Not lazy, it's 'recycling'. For those who want to know what is *technically* being done, it's this:
• Voicing
Color/tone
• Voice leading
Transition/character
Just used this to make a fire beat.
lazy melodies ❌️
smart melodies ✅️
Imagine all the frequencies of a beat as a brick wall in a tunnel and the vocals of an artist as a bus, If you can't move that wall to make space for the bus it isn't going anywhere but if you make a big hole in the wall there's a possibility for it to pass through with ease.
It’s good because it’s just the best for the song. The melody in the beat is not the main focus, it’s the rapping. So simple lines like this give room for vocals
My favourite melodies are hardstyle melodies so I doubt they lazy :P
My favourite melody is Kobaryo's invisible frenzy first drop, not that simple ..
Nobody is questioning Metro drumming
Metro issa legend he know wtf he doing sample or no sample
End of the story
What melody? Chord progressions aren’t melodies. I guess technically arpeggios might be called melodies, but they serve a different purpose. They’re closer related to chords.
When your redbows music theory red version e-book coming out ?
These Melodies are fire, fym
It was OZ not Metro, wtf
was about to wrte that. HITR is produced by oz (the melody is by nik d tho)
Complexity is not what makes great music great. At least for music that has lyrics. Instrumentals are a different thing though.
Simple not lazy
Simplicity is best
Keeping it simple is the key
simple + unique*
The first one is not by Metro, it's by OZ, shoutout to my boy from Germany
I don't think lazy melodies or beats are good at all. I prefer really complex ones. That's one of the reasons why i keep going back to genres like Emoplugg and digicore. this doesn't do it for me.
Nah this gave me some good ideas for melodies
"Lil sisi" 😂
I’ve watched tutorial after tutorial and yours make the most sense !!
Can u do the other Niagara Falls song
if it sounds good🤷
My favorite melodies are on tpab not so simple
"First and fourth note of your minor scale" and which minor scale did you choose? Oh yeah...
Just change that key cause a minor is the easiest key learn
idk his production is just kinda boring sometimes
Which vst ??
Drake really likes them minor scales 💀
Move it down looks like too many nights
If it were easy then everybody would be Metro Boomin so obviously he’s doing something right
btw im pretty sure metro doesnt actually make these melodies, he samples a good bunch of his music
BBL DRIZZY
Allen Ritter made the melody not metro
the notes for niagra falls that you showed aint even the right notes...
Hi what do u use vst for piano?
Spitfire LABS
bro, the highest in the room arp is fake, actually is a 1 5
The melody/sample was created by Allen Ritter, MyBestFriendJacob & Peter Lee Johnson

Bros mad his complex Melodies don’t get placements lol
It's not melody you're explaining it's harmony. The melodic lines would be the notes the artist is singing. The harmony is the underlying notes that tie it all together-which is what is being explained in the video.
Genius
He not a bad producer AT ALL he just smart
What software is this?
FL Studio

Funny how I listen to non of those artists 😂
Funny how no one cares
You prefer suicide boys?
Type shit is the worst song of the year worse than oppy day.
It’s seriously unlistenable. Worst beat and bars I’ve seen in a while. Worse than Ice Spice
@@friedrice0 Im sorry to say it but I agree. It was hyped and played much at first because there‘s 4 of the most popular hip-hop artists on it but I think people are just now starting to really listen to it and realize how bad it actually is.
🔥🔥
metro is good but he mad overrated
simplicity is key though?
yes but you don't wanna make it too simple to the point where you sound like everyone else
@@mxderateyeah. Simplicity is key to making a hit song. Not a good song necessarily
@@friedrice0 id rather make one hit and be really proud of it than 5 hits that im not proud of. plus making it simple but unique can make you stand out from others
@@mxderate yeah I definitely agree
Metro just make easiest beats every time.
if it ain't broke...
"Lazy melody are not BAD melodys"
Yeah, if you are producing this sh*t called trap I bet melodys are not important, because it's not even music.
I see a drake track and an A minor scale in the same vid😂. Drake ain't coming back ever
❤
Next time you wanna call a melody bad try making one yourself 😂
he dont make his melodies. he just add drums
who makes the melodies
He does, that's quit the contrary even, he send the melodies for others to do the drums very often.
He has always been known for his melodies
@@LeMarsouin9wrong. Well. Kinda. He has done a lot of Melodie’s but on some very big works of his like thought it was a drought, FSMH and a lot of the stuff off of hero’s and villains, he has people like Honorable C note and Allen Ritter making Melodie’s. A lot of the rodeo by Travis melodies were done by Allen Ritter, I’d imagine this includes on songs like 3500 where metro also worked on it. Metro used to make his own melodies a lot more back in the day but as of recent times he’s taken a step back on that
@@5ivestar65Yeah, that’s why I always say how under appreciated Honorable Cnote and Allen Ritter are. Metro grabs all the attention and people generally appreciate the melody’s the most 💀.
metro booming
drake🥶
Yooo
Tf is a lazy melody
Most overrated producer of all time. He still makes dope beats but people calling him even close to the greatest know nothing about production
metro boomin is the drake of producers, he kinda ruined rap music production, overrated af
Wtf 😂
definitely white
In what way tho??? Because he helped popularize trap, future and 21 savage? Because he brought a new sound to the hears of millions ?
Your comparison is absolte ass, drake is hated mostly because of his attitude, not his sounds
why?
Bro might actually be delusional never make a opinion again 💀💀💀
