UPDATE!
So... Rakdos Scam with Grief just won the Barcelona Grand Open Qualifier! The pilot, Mariluz Garcia, replaced Furry with Seasoned Pyromancer, Kolaghan's Command, & Fatal Push! BUT, Daddy is still NOT convinced that Grief is busted, but it looks like we won't be seeing the last of Grief decks!
Eventually all of the evoke elementals will be banned in modern. They are too much t1 value
@@JT-91 I think wizards will just print a card in MH3 that cockblocks them (at mythic of course)
@@Id0nthavename dont be surprised if force of will is mh3
@@JT-91 They really arent though. The issue has always been the reuse with blinking and scamming. But perhaps you are one of those elves players that just kept crying about fury despite elves always being a shit deck rofl.
what does endurance do t1?@@JT-91
Fury was a good call but I would have banned all the evoke elementals. When I played- grief taking your whole hand turn 1 was the problem.
It especially made mulligans really hurt. If you mull to 5 and the opponent turn 1 Grief-scams you, that’s down to 3, good luck!
I disagree on that.
Losing to a turn 1 (double) grief might be annoying, but you atleast knew that you'd lose within the next few rounds.
But getting your board furied without any undying effect just to make it a topdeck war, was the most annoying shit ever.
No green white and blue cant double thoughtsieze you or make playing all creatures bad.
Please keep uploading this often. It is soooooooooo refreshing
Every time I watch someone play Modern it's like Santa promising you everything you ever wanted but instead uses you to get close to your mom. And the initial thrill of being Santa's stepchild quickly vanishes as you're forced to live with your father by some railroad tracks in a forgotten small town deep in the Rust Belt.
I am absolutely SHOCKED that Fury was actually banned. I feel bad for the poor bastard that made that decision cause they clearly have too much good sense to stick around WOTC for long
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say WotC seeing that no new creatures from standard managing make a real home in modern for a bit over two years made them reevaluate. Though what probably really signed its death warrant was probably the LotR set only managing to allow two creatures to make their way into decks. One a mana dork and the other a draw punisher. I haven't seen any real news of ANY of the other creatures seeing play no matter how efficient they seemed due to the overwhelming threat of it and any other low toughness creature that doesn't do like three things being killed on the following turn for no mana invested.
Grief is next unless a card that specifically punishes discarding or looking at the opponent's hand comes soon. Just like Fury the mechanic itself isn't broken but what it's doing consistently and conditioning the player base to play around can lead to boring metas.
The only busting in this video is Grief after avoiding the ban hammer
So nice that now my favourite youtuber makes videos so often. I love it so much that now I can watch best videos almost every evening
Bruno still rocking mid-range!
I'm currently working on a similar concept, but based around rebirthing Grief into Stoneforge Mystic and rebirthing Solitude into Siege Rhino
Those bolts were unreal 9:57

You wild. Please never change.
Beautiful papa 🎉
Any plans for making MTG Arena content with the arrival of Timeless?
Would love to see if you can pull off a version of your Boros Prison or something similar. Loved to watch you playing that deck in modern back then.
Beatiful video!! You are the best youtuber ever!! I love you so much daddy!!!🎉🎉❤❤
Grief was always the best turn 1 play but fury is what gave the deck its reach. I think grief is fine for now.
Mainboard cards that exile grief and other "combo" creatures. Maa spray, path to exile (counters creativity) Dec in stone. Soul partisan
What a burning inquiry
Thanks daddy!!!
I played similar deck at fnm
I played against creature decks and saga decks, both of which i believe are favorable against orzhov scam. I think the meta is gonna have more creature strats that may make orzhov scam not good, as fury was the way it beat those decks before
Are there any Squirming Emergence decks in Modern?
Tf is that
@@yashindiamente282 it's a three mana sorcery
I think Bowmasters also should have been hit, but really liking the lack of Fury destroying creature based strategies
Give it a couple months. Still in print.
Bowmaatets isn't that good. It's a garbage creature that counters the 1 ring and control decks that draw endless cards.
Blowmasters are tied to One Ring, if Ring goes orcs aren't as important anymore. Wait until LotR goes out of print.
Wait, why are there 0 copies of Thalia and Gitrog Monster? It's pitchable to all your elementals and it is awesome with Rushed Rebirth. Also, why not board a Shriekmaw or two? I know it's not a double-striker like Fury, but fear is really solid in the matchups you'd bring it in
It was tough deciding which toolbox cards to include! Shriekmaw would take 4 mana to use with rebirth and is too expensive to find with it!
Oh boy
Furry gets yiffed by WotC, but it still leaves us with Grief 😔
with fury now gone from a good chunk of the meta, lingering souls feels wayyyy more playable now. i got tired of my 4 spirits being wiped away with a single fury and stopped using lingering souls.
Bowmasters and W&6 is still a thing, so I highly doubt Lingering Souls we be making a comeback any time soon
alright yeah, thats true. at least both of those don't wipe all your tokens with one trigger though, but they are quite prominent in the meta. f to lingering souls
Lingering souls is fine. Majority of people are just bad at making decks or follow created meta decks only without doing research. Lingering souls isn't the main character of any deck ,it's a back up annoyance card, mainly for standard control decks. Use virture and fury loses to tokens and wren and bowmasters get ram over by anthem effects.
I think scam is going to move more toward mono black or UB. There's still plenty of good targets for the undying cards and Grief was always more powerful than Fury.
More braindead
Fury is overall a more powerful card, by a lot.
Easy answer : 4c reanimate and keeping both grief solitude with ephemerate, got played against, unless ur full control or u misplay, it’s a terrible matchup and all because of grief hand control.
Wizards banned a modern horizons 2 card? Is there a crack shortage or something? Maybe they are sick? Has anyone checked up on them?
It's the first ever mh2 card bann3d in modern!
Thank you, daddy
A ban? The sales must have finally slowed down.
MH3 is around the corner. MH2 is no longer in print
spelunking and amulet is a nonbo what are they doing
Bounce lands still work if you have several amulets and a speluking in play.
@@khurgar8120Spelunking shuts off amulete as the lands enter untapped therefore they don't trigger amulete
@@zirilan3398 incorrect. If a land has the text "enters the battlefield tapped" and you have spelunking in play you choose in which order these abilities stack. So you can chopse if for instance simic growth chamber enters tapped or untapped.
I checked and you are, in fact correct. That's highly counterintuitive.
@@zirilan3398 agreed 🫠
You didn't use rushed rebirth once
#freefury
Don't think I didn't see that "cards that sound like penises" deck
Scam just won the euro tournament
here's a thought... Incarnations are busted, period... Wizards was definitely on their crack binge designing them.
Hump yer bump
It's so upsetting watching people be pro ban for fury and not for grief. Like I bet you all of them are quiet af rn. Unban fury and ban grief.
It literally just won and it's taking over modern with different variants (bw scam splash stoneblade)
Dude, it’s nothing new and it’s been tried before. B/W evoke isn’t as powerful. Heck it was one of the first combos they showcased before MH2 dropped and guess what happened shortly after the set dropped? Nothing. The deck gained no major traction and was shortly forgotten about. Some players tried it here and there but it couldn’t quite keep up with the T1 decks. The card quality in white is weaker than red and early turn solitudes are typically weak plays.
@riotron1026 I agreed but your argument is based on data that's pre lotr. Lil bit different with bowmaster and ToR running around
@@KaosMasterX Right but the Bowmasters argument has nothing to do with people’s main complaints, T1 evoke plays. All Bowmasters does is give black decks a more well rounded edge against draw heavy decks.
Did not expect to see Melania Trump and the Canadian shop teacher/transphobic troll to be compared to magic cards lmao
Unironically, Fury was the 2nd least needed ban out of the 5. Fury being gone means there's even more aggro and it makes cards like Thoughtseize far worse. Leaving Endurance, Grief, and Solitude was a major flop.
modrn would be fixed if they unbanned all cards except jitte and blazing shoal and banned fetches.
Nope
I'll have some of what you're snorting
lukewarm ban, format is still trash, Legacy is still amazing!
scam is still prevalent in legacy though D:
@@Il_Dilettante prevalent you mean less than 2% of the meta and one of 15+ viable decks and myriads of strategies? legacy's power level lets it better absorb shocks from awful FIRE design
