We've added ballast, started the fishing cabins scene by the lake and added a tunnel portal under the stairs, switched out a bridge- all very recently. Its been satisfying but a real uphill battle. We need more hours in a day and a sore back that doesnt bark back at me. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy. Gary
Love the helicopter guy's
Joe, Ryan surprised me with that kitbashed item. Thanks for watching. Gary
Awesome find !! Very nice 👍
Chazz, yes those jack pierce kitbashed cars are special and those C&O cars real nice.... a long time coming. thanks for watching.
Great video., I love your excitement! Congratulations on the newest additions to your collection.
thanks, its always fun to get new things. We didnt purchase much for almost 7 years, saving up, building the new trainboard, and life"s tribulations. So, we now feel so fortunate and that happiness often shows through. Surprisingly, we enjoy sharing our new stuff and unboxings even more than we first expected, especially when so many watch and from comments, get plugged into the fun as just a bunch of train guys doing trains. thanks for commenting.
Those Chessie coaches are gorgeous. Well done.
Yes, scott and the m1 engine surprised us. We ran it much longer than we required for the video. Thanks for commenting and watching. Gary
It was great meeting you! Lots of great purchases!
Pleasure meeting you as well!! Keep an eye out for our October York video, it's in the works! - Ryan
Those Stroudsburg cars look incredible with the details guys. 😊
The cars, themselves, are very nice, but jack pierce brought them to a whole other level. Gary
@@TheTrainboard I completely agree with you, they are truly amazing!
Great haul. I really dig those Strasburg passenger cars! I agree that era really doesn't matter.
We really like Jack Pierce's kitbashed work of art. Thanks for watching.
Great Pick Ups Gary and Ryan. Those Strasburg Coaches with all the detail are really nice. I really like them. We run alot of Strasburg Items on our Layout.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!! We'll definitely have to get a few more Strasburg items someday.
Passenger cars are beautiful
Those strasburg cars are kitbashed by jack pierce. Jack put table lamps on each table, silverware, drapes, additional lighting. So gifted. Those c&o cars match are m1, also looking so good. Thanks for commenting and watching.
I was also looking at the special lit up cars and they were incredibly impressive. he even had a sign that he isn’t taking any work right now due to being so busy.
Zach, I hope to learn lighting and some other electronics, especially led lights and adding sound. Jack is a magician. Thanks for commenting. Gary
OMG!!!!!!! the set of my dreams the Chessie's at an affordable PRICE!!!!!
you never know what you'll find at York!!!
You guys did Great! Love the passenger car sets.!!Nice you are still running PS1! ENJOY!
Thank you!! PS1 always takes me back to my childhood - Ryan
Very cool, April 2023 was my first York visit too. Looking forward to next month's York!
If you see us be sure to say hi!
@@TheTrainboard Most definitely!
Was A Good Video.
thank you!
very nice cars
Great video and new subscriber. If you guys are ever in the Chicagoland area, would love to show you some of our hobby shops, and even IRM. Think you guys would love it that place.
Twenty years ago, my company sent me to Chicago for 3 days, but it was winter and I could not explore. Sadly, we have 2 hobby shops left in nj, both a 2 hour drive, one way. Trainworld in ny, is a 1.5 hr drive but has $42 in bridge tolls so not viable. Chiago sounds wonderful. Welcome to our channel. Gary
I have quite a few Hollywood cars on my layout. Greenlight also made the Elanor from the original movie. I meet Jack from Canada. Oh yeah he does top notch work with LED lights and figures. Hope to see you in York for October.
I've actually never seen the original movie. Gonna have to watch it one of these nights. We'll be there! Hope to see you too!!
Shawn, we're just beginning to landscape, add cars, people, stuff to our trainboard. Id like some trucks to go with our manufacturing areas but, so far, hard to find and very expensive. I suspect you and I are big truck guys, sometimes more than the budget allows. I've still got to learn some lighting and electronics...but yes, jack is crazy good. Thanks for commenting and watching. Gary
We so wish everyone did smoke when they run steam. I expect I especially love smoke because I remember dropping those solid white pellets in my post war lionel steam engine those many years ago.
Love your enthusiasm gents!
Those Jack Pearce Strasburg cars are works of art, there's no other way to describe them. The $400 price is a bit heart-stopping BUT once those cars are lit up you can see you're more than getting your money's worth. It's apparant quite a few man-hours went into the super-detailing of those cars!
Oh, and there's no reason you can't stretch out the Strasburg train with either Pennsylvania or Reading railroad woodside passenger cars, the Strasburg does it so it's no sin.
A great score on those Chessie cars! And it the train's got a problem on one of the curves in an odd way you're being prototypical, real railroads had trains that couldn't go everywhere due to curve radii, weight restrictions and clearances. Just run it where it works.
I wouldn't worry about putting extra weight in the Bailey's car unless it's going to be up near the head end of the train and the weight of the rest of the train behind it might cause it to derail on curves. I've got some REA express cars I had to put weights in since running on the head end they did have problems staying on the rails with the passenger cars behind them.
I was at the York show myself in April but nor being a subscriber to your channel at the time I didn't know to look for you! Next time, definately! I'll be at one of the York shows next year but haven't decided which one, I've already had my York trip for this year so I'm passing on the October show.
Gary, your comment concerning getting a Virginia Train Collectors shirt came up on my e-mail but for some reason I couldn't answer it directly, who knows why? Anyway, we don't HAVE any shirts! I had mine custom-made using Wrangler work shirts from Walmart and having them embroidered at a local shop. The club never bothered having shirts made in the past since there was almost no interest.
I did pretty well myself at York but I'll stop here, this post is long enough!
We enjoy your posts so much, makes the sharing and all the work even more satisfying and worthwhile. Yes, perhaps some day a few more strasburg cars, but, especially odd for me, 2 cars seem to fit. I usually like 6 to 8 passenger cars. Jack actually custom makes a 4 inch board to control all that lighting, hiding the board in the car. Thanks for commenting. Gary
@@TheTrainboard Same here Gary, I like long passenger trains myself. If I don't have enough of the proper road name cars I stretch the consist out with REA cars, they go with anything.
Goin to the First Train shows Are Special to All Model Railroaders. Went to a Train show During My Birthday and It Was Something. The Next Show Coming up In Oct. then Waiting for The Feb Shows. Then I Will Have What I wanted To Get.
What did you want to get?
After 21 years of looking, we finally found matching passenger cars for this steam engine with the diesel- like drivers
My cup Ronith over with envy.
Wow does that long silver and yellow engine hang out over the curves. The steamer w/ the brick red passenger cars is neat.
That m1 hangs over so much on the curves...its such fun to run thanks for watching.
That it does! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
I just subscribed awesome haul someday I’m going to make it to York It’s awesome you to model together 😎
It took me 29 years, so it's never too late! Hope you get there soon!! - Ryan
York, the trains, and the people you meet are great fun. Thanks for watching. Ryan and gary
I've got to get to York!
Yes you do! It's like Comic-Con for model trains!! - Ryan
If I had To Choose out of the 2 I would Pick The Strasberg No Offence.
Question is DO YOU HAVE THE GUYS NAME YOU BOUGHT THE CHESSIE'S FROM??? I'd like to try and contact him and see if he has 2 more sets!
Joe, no, sadly. He had a table to sell off pieces of his personal collection and was in one of the side hall at york. Finding that chessie set was an unexpected special surprise for us.
Thanks for answering! Some day I hope to find a set!@@TheTrainboard
Does That Engine Made In Ho And N Scale?
which engine?
