  • Playoff game between the Saints and Eagles. Saints looking for it's first playoff win against the Eagles. Eagles defense was led by Reggie White and really took over in the 2nd half.

9 times out of 10, that Philly comeback would have been viewed as the comeback of the year. Remarkably it wasn’t even the biggest comeback that day

Bobby Hebert and Carl Smith blew it for the Saints in the Playoffs yet again.

Philly's 4th quarter explosion was stunning when you consider:
The Saints had not given up more than 21 points in a game all season.
The 1992 Saints defense allowed 202 points that season, the fewest any team allowed defensively in the 90s
The Saints allowed only an average of 12.9 PPG in 8 regular season home games that season.
And yet.... that 4th quarter. Man.

But all of that is completely offset by the fact that this was Mora-era playoffs. Even with holding the Bears to 16 in the 1990 wild card, we still gave up an average of 29 ppg in the three franchise playoff games, to date, coming into this game and that Bears game was the only one in which we didn't get torched for a deep TD. In fact, Fred Barnett's 35-yarder in this game was the shorter of his two TD catches.

18:03 “Get ready for Dallas.” Simple little line but something about the way he said it made it sound epic. Only Pat Summerall could do that.

Pat Summerall could make an announcement of an upcoming colonoscopy sound epic. I always search for games he did because it always sounds epic. Now, on to my colono...

Me my brother an uncle went to this game... I was 19 yrs old an by the end of this game I felt 105 yrs old... We couldn't believe it... When the clock struck zero, we couldn't get up, we were stuck to the seats in disbelief.. The Dome security made us get up an leave... Many fights we saw outside an the eagle fans kept their mouths shut... They knew there would be trouble if they even looked at us wrong.. Brotherly love my ass.... That's a damn lie, whoever came up with that, something is wrong with that person.... Then the next week Dallas handed eagles a butt kicking..
