    Hi man. Good to see you’re still answering questions people have on here so here’s one for you.
    On the page that shows your light schedule obviously on of the axis is the hours. But what’s the other? Because no matter which setting I can never get the light to reach to top reading of 120, only ever 100 which I noticed was the same on your screen. Is this the light power? If so, why does it go up to 120?
    One more thing, do you know of anywhere (links appreciated) where I can see people settings according to the lights par performance and the size/depth of their tanks because I’m still so unsure about the settings I’m using for a 325ltr tank thats 120cm wide and I think 60cm deep. I really REALLY want to research the correct intensities to be giving my tank but it’s so hard to find any notes on how high to place my light, at what power, for how long, to reach the bottom plants, keep the top plants safe and so on. PLEASE, help me out as much as you can because yours is the only REAL video out there for this light and I know it wouldn’t just benefit me and my tank.
    Thanks a bunch man, you were the reason I decided to go ahead with buying this light so thank you.

      @MJAquascaping  Před 3 lety

      Hey Savi!
      Yeah it's just power, super strange it goes up to 120% 😂
      I found some information about par readings from the VIVID 2 , so it's not 100% the same, but they use the exact same leds with the vivid.

    Does the kelvin setting affect plant growth, i can see other settings like intensity having an impact. Is it just a preference thing, for example, if i want a warmer colour to bring out the reds more or a more washed out blue colour for a buce tank?

    I received my Chihiro's WRGB II Slim today. I find the app, the hardware and everything so pretty and so convenient for the price. The sunrise functionality is stunning. However, I find the colours to be a little bit too artificial and over-saturated. It's kind of like being in a nightclub. I'm used to a true WRGB with the white that gives the natural touch, and for the moment I can't match that with the Chihiro's.

      @blu3leg3nd Před 2 lety +2

      100 % agree
      for me the colours are way to artificial. I believed the hype.
      Received it, tried all possible settings and send it back.
      I think it is really missing a pure "white channel" (cold an warm white)
      When combined with a normal white light, it looks really good. But without it, it is nothing for me.

    I have a Chihiros A901 Plus (1m wide aquarium) but I'm thinking of switching to the Chihiros WRGB 2 light. I've checked several comparisons and altough it's almost double the price it's really worth it, if you can afford it.
    In mine, I had no dimmer to it'd just swicth on at 100% so of course I had some GSA and some BBA (introduced, initially), but now I have a dimmer on it, going at 70% max. as it's too intense. GSA is gone now and the BBA is almost gone (with the help of Fourish Excel, of course).
    Also, question... Do you know if there's any difference in PAR? I mean, I read reviews from the A series where they said that different parts of the aquarium would get different PAR readings because the unit has no deflectors to distribute the light as evenly as possible. I'm wondering if this one is the same...

    Great review sir! I’ve just ordered a 90cm one for my high tech planted tank after watching your review. I had a Fluval Fresh and Plant on the tank before this that cost me $400 Australian dollars that only lasted a year before it started flickering on and off and also went very dim! Junk! So hopefully I get better results from the Chihiros. It cost $527 Australian dollars for anyone who cares to know. Cheers..

    My current lighting is just DIY. It works well if i am doing a low or medium setup, but I've recently redone my tank, with the intent of making it "high tech". My main goal is to get my plants growing efficiently, and colorful. namely, to get my red plants, actually red, which they currently arent. I've got co2, and enough light to grow my plants, including rotala macrandra, H'ra, wallichii, and ludwigia arcuata. All of which are red plants, but currently, they're every one of them is lime green (except the macrandra, it has a little bit of orange in it). If I were to put the 120cm wrgb ii on a 200L tank, that's 60cm tall, would I theoretically be able to achieve the colors I'm looking for?

    • @MJAquascaping
      @MJAquascaping  Před 3 lety +1

      For sure! You will have no problems getting some nice red stems. Combine that with some low nitrates and you will have crazy red plants 😍

    • @captainweird1822
      @captainweird1822 Před 3 lety +1

      @@MJAquascaping Thanks for the reply man. I’ve been doing a lot of comparisons, and reviews with this light, and I think it’ll be the best for me, but I wanted to check with someone who has experience with it. It’s worth noting, I already have very low nitrates. That mixed with injected co2, good substrate and good ferts, I already have some colour in plants I really didn’t expect to with my current setup. Namely, the macrandra. While it is very green, it does however, have a touch of orange in there.
      It’s just because it’s a lot of money, and having a tank at the height, and overal size mine is, even budget options are still a big chunk of change. But if it’ll grow the plants I want, the way I want, then to me, it’s worth saving for. I would’ve liked my diy to work, but I’ve come to the realization, that there’s a distinctive line between premium and budget for a reason. No matter how effectively I make mine, they’ll never have the right intensity, or proper wavelengths I’m looking for. So I figured it’s time to just save up and buy a commercial option. Guess I’ll give it a go

    • @MJAquascaping
      @MJAquascaping  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah it's not cheap, but you will not be disappointed! Indeed in a tank with 60cm height you just need good quality lights to get decent results, and diy can only take you so far.

    • @captainweird1822
      @captainweird1822 Před 3 lety

      @@MJAquascaping I 100% agree. If I was still doing low light, with only green plants, and my tank was say only 30cm, I’d have no problem with my current setup, but regardless of how I set em up, diy most likely won’t give me the colours. Not to mention, if a light (specifically a flood light) is super intense, but has all the wrong wavelengths, it can actually burn plants, and ruin the cell’s lining. So, I’m kinda at the point of needing to get a decent light regardless. There’s not really any alternatives when you’re this far into aquascaping, and just aquariums in general, so I just really wanted to check someone else’s experience, and their opinion on the matter. Thanks for the replies btw. I think this is what I’m gonna go with.
