    The picture used in 1:21 is from a place called Hacienda La Cienega in Lasso, Ecuador (Cotopaxi Province). La Cienega is near my family's home. It's a beautiful place to stay and is rich in history. The staff is very professional and kind and the food is amazing. There is also a bunch of activities to do like climbing the Illinizas or visiting the Cotopaxi National Park to name a few.
    I highly recommend it.

    Conservative interior countrysides compared to liberal coastlines. That seems to be a global trend.
    Didn't know those political philosophies and geographical divides would have existed in colonial Ecuador.

      Dude I would so love if you made a video going into depth about the Peru vs Ecuador history. I served a mission in Ecuador for 18 months and had companions with me from Peru, and everyone would constantly mention their ethnicity and accents. I had a 98 year old friend who had a Peruvian novio who she was never able to marry because her family "didn't approve because of how long ago it was." Her name was Rosa and she made amazing Papaya smoothies! ❤

    I like that you said that Ecuador had territorial CLAIMS in the Amazon and not sovereign territory. Actually Ecuador never controlled thoses territories, those were always inhabited by 100% peruvians.
    Fun fact: in 1942 Tumbes is raised to a Department category because of their help against the ecudorians, that means that tumbes was inhabited by 100% peruvians :)

    • @octoberviberations233
      @octoberviberations233 Před 3 lety

      @@TheBirdmon17 you mean apart of the first country to be independent of Spain, yeah
      You see when the spainards landed in South America, they called the whole continet Peru.
      But they new Spain which was now Mexico and Central America, grabbed some territory of Venezuela. Meaning their where two viceroyaltes, New Spain, and Peru.
      Then viceroyalty of New Grenada came along, having territories of Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela. And the Amazon part that Peru and Ecuador fought for.
      The Peru was divided into upper and lower Peru. Peru kept splintering and loosing its territory as time progress when Spain still held the continet
