    I am Lithuanian, and I remember my besty in 5th grade would always love to learn Lithuanian, so when I told her thank you was Aciu, she would always just look at me with a blank face and say “bless you” 😂😂😂

    well in Lithuania we dont write a sneeze as "achoo!" but "apči!" (Apchi!), so ačiū isnt sneezing in LT

    To be fr idk im lithainian and when i talk with an english person theyre like i luv ur hair and i accidently say ačiū theyre like BLESS YOUUU and im like🙃
    Btw ačiū is the only lithainian word that has ū at the back.

    We say "Ačiu" to say thankyou. To sneeze we say "Apchi" or "Achoo."

    as an american (lithuanian heritage) i joked about this all the time as a child. but real lithuanians don’t say “achoo” when they sneeze so it doesn’t sound the same. it is more with like a P sound so like “apchoo” or “apchi”, very different sounds to the trained ear.
