    One Year of Dunk Progress
    This was an unscripted dialogue of the past year's dunk progress. I have experienced a lot of improvement in my jumping and dunking ability during this time. From here I want to continue to learn and bring more to you guys. For that reason the videos and content on my channel may shift from being majority about dunking and jumping. Thank you guys for watching

He jumped higher than I've ever jumped after years of tumbling and volleyball training and conditioning. Kinda motivated me tho, altho I know us whitebois gotta work harder.

      I just can for no reason. Okay,I could be better. But 2 hands without training?Bruh. And I AM the only one in My team, who can dunk.. Also,I am from Hungary,and there are just about ~40 player in my city(there are 2 teams in my city, and the other team has 2 players, who can dunk,but they are training for it lol,cuz they are centers) (*in my age*).

    Excellent video, young man. When I was 20, way back in 2001, I remember being obsessed with the idea of dunking a basketball. At 5'7" it was a dream that I thought would be incredible to have come true. I thought to myself, "Once this happens, I'm gonna quit basketball." Then, November 8, 2001, the day came when I finally dunked... and I realized, as you have, that this cycle... really doesn't end unless you choose to take a step back and ask "what is this all for," and that in and of itself, a goal is not what will bring true meaning to our lives. 16 years later, and the Lord has continued to reveal what truly matters most in this life, and it's His love for and through us. Man, I appreciate your spirit and you sharing your journey. Take care.

    Great video! I started playing basketball when I was 15 in High School, and I fell in love with the sport and especially trying to develop the ability to dunk (I used to play it everyday after school and during my days off). I'm 5 ft 10 and I achieved the goal of dunking a basketball with a drop step during my second year of College at the age of 18 (I'm from England), but soon after I all of a sudden became very bored of competing and I no longer showed up to practise with my College team. I was one of the highest jumpers on my team and after I could pretty much easily dunk, I no longer cared that other team members could soon out jump me during a friendly competition. I took up an interest in reading instead, started working, making a decent income, and now I'm married and have a child on the way during mid July this year. I am going to be a great dad and I will make my firstborne proud of me by always being there (amongst other things). I still workout every week as it is a passion of mine, however I have no need to go 110% everytime spending hours in the gym since it isn't like I'm getting paid for it and I have more important things to do in my time that revolve around others like friends and family. Instead I am aiming to be healthy, athletic, relatively strong, maintaining my good looks and enjoying my life whilst helping others reach their goals. Just because I'm married and nearly 27 does not mean I'm settling and neither is my wife. If anything my life has gotten more exciting. I am currently learning swahili, and writing a book. Unfortunately I didn't get my driving license when I should have, but atleast I'm doing my theory test next month (it's never too late. Anyways I've waffled long enough. Atleast you've started something and your not being lazy with your life. Keep up the good work.

There are a lot of people to meet and new experiences to learn from. I just still enjoy the challenge of throwing a ball into a 10ft hoop. It also seems to be one of my gateways to connect with others. Best to you and your family

    in highschool i always wanted to dunk and i started dunking somewhat consistantly my senior year. Thank god for the 6'6 wingspan. Now i play basktball just for fun but i've thought of other challenges such as windmilling and dunking with my off-hand jumping off my off-foot. I've thought about just trying to dunk directly off vertical but i've given up on that. But i guess outside of dunking and basketball there are other goals that you can acomplish.

      +1301407gl that wingspan does help for dunking. True that though, there are a lot more things to accomplish

    Did you just practice dunking or do specific workouts to get jumping higher?

    • @MichaelBarrins
      @MichaelBarrins  Před 4 lety +1

      A lot of both for a while. Then I cut out working out to experiment with jumping only, but now I’m back incorporating new workouts

      Michael Barrins thanks for the reply! I used to train jumping when I was in high school but it’s been about 5 years since I stopped. Right now I’m grabbing rim with the second joint on my middle finger jumping off two. Hopefully I see progress soon. Really focusing on plyometric training and weight training.

    Once you reach the goal you need to set new ones ;) or help others do the same with your experience. Contribution to what YOU think is meaningful is the key! Keep it up, you might inspire some people to start training and that might be just a side effect of you setting yourself to achieve the goal of dunking. ;)

    I know this is supposed to open our eyes and be something like passioned... but this gets me depressed af man 😩 wym “what if I reach a 50 inch vertical, then what?”. I’ll tell you what then: The fun begins, dunking on people, or even make it your profession. Let it help you become a better basketball player 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ You don’t have to question everythibg you do in life. Ofcourse, work on yourself, become a better person, but that doesn’t have to mean you can’t become the best basketball players/dunker you can be
