Thanks for the video... I currently have a KTM 250 EXC (2 stroke), but when the time comes to replace, I'll be getting one of these Chinese bikes for sure!
So from what I have been told they are non-adjustable...I have yet to tear into a head and check it out yet....going 300 big bore this winter so I will know then.😁👍
Question wouldn't keeping the kicker and getting rid of the battery be a good weight savings or maybe a lithium? I'm new to this dirt bike stuff really kicking around the kayo k2 230
Similar to 2016 KTM 250 SXF...But not exact...tank is definitely different...shrouds are different but can be made to work...shock and forks...clamps totally different....in reality most things are different.
Yes, the 2023 K6-R 250 has a pumper style carb and Genuine KYB Suspension front and rear...along with some other goodies....they used me as inspiration fir changes...🤣🤣🤣👍
Really depends on your weight...I will be installing a 6.0 x 260 for a 2013 KTM 450SXF for my 200lbs ..I had a 5.7 x 250 previously...if you do this you will need a spring compressor...also often times if you change shock spring it means fork springs also.
For me, I'd use it as a trail bike, and if I went with a Japanese bike brand new I'd cross shop the Kayo against the Yamaha WR250F or something like that. Obviously the Yamaha is a better bike, but the main problem I have with the Chinese bikes is weight. But I went and looked and the WR250F is 254 lbs wet. The Kayo K6-R is listed as 245 lbs but I guess that's probably dry weight. Still, if you're going to use it on a motocross track rarely if ever, this seems like a really good trail bike even compared to something Japanese. And that WR250F would be $10,000 after dealer fees, etc., probably more in reality. That's IF you could even find one, and it's basically double the price. Yeah it's a much better bike but not $5k better. Especially not for an average trail rider like me. I do wonder what the actual wet weight is compared to Japanese trail bike on the same scales, both with fluids. I wonder how much heavier it really is. Gonna start saving my pennies. Thanks for your vids about these bikes. 👍
So mine was like 250 lbs with oil and 1 gallon gas..I shaved 10 lbs from stock do with gas still like 240lbs...lighter than some ..but still heavy...and yes I would agree..it has it's faults but the Big 5 brands are not $3-$4 thousand dollars better for Joe Average.
You obviously got something major going on because gas ain't supposed to go backwards through the air filter...I am guessing it's not this exact model and probably the crappy 230 model.
I ride moto....every other weekend...at best....3 - 15 minute session on average in a ride day...I also was out with an injury....so yeah not the most hrs when I made this video, but enough to give an idea of how well the bike has held up and performed.

Good review thanks mate

It’s actually not a Chinese bike
@@Alex-ln5hoKayo is a Chinese company and I believe that’s where their bikes are manufactured.
Kayo has partner ship with Ktm
Great vid I watched the whole thing.
Thanks 👍
Many options from expensive Japanese bikes are now abundantly around
''Came in at 243lbs'' Dry or Curb/Wet weight?

@@Martintinposnik , Thanks..just ordered the parts, but won't do work till later in Winter...my not able to ride project 🤣
I wonder if that tach just needs a new battery? Maybe it's one of those ones that takes a button cell inside?
No button cell.
I just subscribed
Would you recommend a kayo for someone trying to get into dirt bikes
Yes

They are nearly Impossible to kick start..so lithium battery and remove kicker.
My k2 is not bad to kick must be a k6 thing
@@Dirt_Bike_Dave I have this new bike. Don't possible start this engine it with kicker.
@@Sps3711 I was never able to start it with the kicker when cold or if it fell over...so I ditched it.
I was never able to kick start it.
What weight did you get for the spring , i am 6’2 215lbs
I have A Race Tech 6.0 Kg
Model # srsp-632560 I ordered from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC for a KTM 450SXF 2018
What frame is this comparable to ? Would a 2006 ktm sx-f be the same

@@Dirt_Bike_Dave Yeah and even $5k +tax is a pretty big chunk of change for a dirt bike for most normal people to justify.
Na szlaki może lepszy byłby kayo kt250 2takt co myślisz?
28H?
It's still brand new.
Do a 100-150H rewiev
Yep, I only have like 60 hrs on it now and I installed a 300cc kit on it at 50 hrs.
