Freddie's voice is quite possibly the best male voice in history. He was pitch perfect, and could cover 4+ octaves without straining to get to the perimeters.
He's an amazing artist !!
@@brittreacts He would have preferred the word "fabulous".
not true at all, the man could not sing the song live (pitch perfect LOL).
Fabulous Freddie Mercury 4️⃣sure 😉
And Agreed, The Whole Queen Live Aid Concert is a Must 👍
@@Jeff_D_ Well to be fair, he switches shit up intentional often. it's not a matter or not being able to match pitch, is just approaching the song differently so shit doesn't get stale.
It’s worth watching the entire Live Aid performance. Freddy holds a microphone in one hand and 70,000 people in the other.
🎯
Correction: Freddie held the 72,000 people at Wembley plus the 1.5 billion people watching by satellite from all over the world.
Absolutely
"You *BASTARDS!* How is ANYONE supposed to follow that?!" - Elton John, Live Aid 1985
@@TheLastGarou Paul Gambaccini, who was part of the BBC broadcasting team at Live Aid, recalled the awe among other superstar musicians watching backstage. “Everybody realized that Queen was stealing the show,” said Gambaccini. In fact, the actual words that Elton John uttered when he rushed into Freddie’s trailer after the set was, “You bastards, you stole the show".
“Queen smoked ’em. They just took everybody. They walked away being the greatest band you’d ever seen in your life, and it was unbelievable,” said David Grohl of Foo Fighters. “And that’s what made the band so great; that’s why they should be recognized as one of the greatest rock bands of all time because they could connect with an audience.”
You have to just sit down and catch their entire 1985 live aid performance. You can watch him take a tired and grumpy crowd and have them eating out of his hand within the first song. I don't think there has been a display of pure showmanship to come close to this since.
There will never be another Freddie. There will never be another showman like him!
Amen
Queen Live Aid is regarded as the best live performance by any band ever any genre
I’m sure one one ha mentioned reacting to Bohemian Rhapsody
Nope, Pink Floyd - Pulse 1994 was the best
Queen had better performances than this one...also music is not a competition. Some people have different tastes.
Of all performances ever made, this is the one I would have been able to see live. The atmosphere in that stadium must've been amazing.
Was at live aid........ top performance of the day for me was U2 in particular bad, had seen em a few times in little venues, including one only 30 in the audience, George Michael don't let the sun go down also stunning, ......... when this girl watches Elvis blows my mind, so many early early Elvis tracks to lose it too. Great reaction girl knows a time a voice a performer. Love it 😂
The GOAT of GOAT's!!!! RIP Freddie - The BEST EVER!!!!! He did this when he knew he was dying & Dr's said not to preform!!! Freddie Rocks the WORLD!!!
bohemian rhapsody is one of queens signature songs
Queen’s Live Aid performance has gone down in rock history as the single best performance by a rock band, considering the circumstances.
I was there in ‘85, just one of the 1.6billion people worldwide to witness the concert. I always have tears in my eyes whenever I hear Freddie, God bless him!!
Freddie was dying and was told not to do this concert. But he loved his fans so much.
In their earlier days, Queen didn't like the crowd singing because they had worked hard and the crowd was singing over them. Then Brian May thought, "Well, they're going to do it anyway. So let's give them their own songs to sing." Brian came up with "We Will Rock You" (I know you've heard that one) and Freddie came up with "We Are the Champions." For those of us that have been around for a while, these two songs go together. And they were written for the audience to sing along. So if you're doing "We Are the Champions" you have to do "We Will Rock You."
We keep telling you. Queen at the Live Aid concert. Many people think it could be the best live set anywhere, ever. You have to react to it.
For me, "We Are the Champions" is always connected to "We Will Rock You." When Queen introduced the songs to us on the News of the World album, one song led into the other with no pause. Amazingly, "We Will Rock You" is as recognizable as "We Are the Champions." They are designed to go together, so you might give them a listen. One more Queen recommendations to you (already have a "Bohemian Rhapsody" recommendation pending from a prior post), give "Fat Bottomed Girls" a try!
This is kinda only true in the US. Because both songs were so short, DJs would play both in a row on the radio. I don't think this was generally done outside the US.
I was in middle school when this song was released and for the longest time I thought We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions were one song because, like you said, when they were played on the radio one lead right into the other.
Yeah, it's weird to hear one without the other.
Yes "Fat Bottom Girls" is another one. Freddie was into Big Butts long before Sir Mix a Lot. LOL
Also on all of their albums, it rolls from Champions/Rock.
If you want to see the greatest live performer in history, no exaggeration, doing the greatest live performance, then watch the whole set.
Freddie had the planet in his palm.
And for beginners, they are consummate professionals.
YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE WHOLE CONCERT! At least, their segment…it’s mind-blowing!
Queen was amazing. Rip Freddie Mercury.
You’ve gotta watch the full live aid concert. Nobody can hold a crowd like Freddie.
You can't go wrong with Queen and should check out the whole 20min Live-Aid performance, aka. "20 minutes that changed the world!".
And as you heard "We are the champions" now ... the song they always played before this one was "We will rock you" and I am pretty sure you can "stomp-stomp-clap" and sing along immidieatly!
If you haven't heard the studio version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" yet, you sadly missed the song which reaches number 1 three different decades!
Queen have made chart history by becoming the first ever act to surpass seven million album sales! Do yourself a favour and buy the record "Queen - Greatest Hits". You can't go wrong with it! It is the best selling album of all time in the UK and contains "Bohemian Rhapsody" as opener, of course. If I am not mistaken, "BohRap" the second most selled song after Bing Crosby's "Whtie Christmas" of all time ... Give it a try!
I am happy for you, that there is so much Queen songs out there for you to discover! There are "only" 53 official chart hits they put out during their time, but - in my and most opinion - most of their other songs (and hits) are even better! Not radio-play-style-songs, but incredible, solid work worth listening to!
Yes, the journey down the rabbit hole that is Queen is truly amazing. Just so sad that Freddie was taken from us at such a young age. If I remember correctly Live Aid was the last performance he did live, he was already battling AIDS then and his doctor had told him not to perform at Live Aid and rest his voice and body.
He has been on stage with Monserrate Caballe in 1988 again ... not sure if this was 100% live as it sound too perfect - but we are talking about Fred and Montsy! So we'll never know... XD
He did the Magic tour in 1986 @@yankee_tango
He sings it with passion becuase hes dedicated to his music and hes the best
He was quite possibly the greatest showman the music world has ever seen! Not to mention an absolute icon! Love Freddie Mercury!
he is amazing to say the least
@@brittreacts ....was....sadly
R.I.P. Freddie Mercury. I remember dancing to this with all my classmates at an 8th grade graduation dance in Catholic School in the School Cafeteria way back in 1980. Yes, I'm old as dirt.
Your next Queen assignment - Another One Bites The Dust, which usually comes with this song on the radio. And yes, Queen is one of the more unknown groups that has so many universally known hits!
Shortly before this concert Freddie developed a bad throat condition, yet he still went on. If you listen very closely , during this song and toward the end of his set ; you can hear his voice start to crack a little, but still iconic. QUEEN--because Freddie was a queen.
Queen said that this was the first time they had ever seen the crowd reaction like this because they always played at night and this was a surprise to them to see the crowd reaction. Roger (drummer) said it looked to him like a field of wheat waving in the breeze.
ahh... hearing the song was great back in time.. then the chorus takes over in sport and is chanting "we are the Champions" and I have everytime Freddy in my head
Hi Britt, You also know "We Will Rock You," it is another Sports Event Anthem by Queen!!!
R.I.P ,,,,,,, Freddie
I watched this concert when, it happened and until this day it still makes me cry.. By this time Freddie knows he has Aids and just months to live, and he went on to put "arguably" the greatest live performance so all time..
You must watch the whole live aid set.
The best concert I ever saw.... like millions around the planet back in 1985, I was awestruck by this performance. There is no doubt in my mind that this performance by Queen stands out as the best live performance by ANY band ANYWHERE.
Forgot to tell you.
The Queen's lead guitarist is one of the best guitarist in the world & currently a well renowned Astrophysics & had worked with NASA on various projects.
Freddie's doctor advised him not to sing at Live Aid due to vocal stress. Freddie and the boys responded with delivering the most iconic set of music the world has ever seen.
Had fun at concerts mind blowing
Special memory of my late brother with the song. He was a wrestler and in and new program, year before at the tournament his team got their but only 2 winners (brother was one of them). Well the guys took names and the next year they got everyone but 3 weight. They were State Champions. Brother won again. That song was playing on the radio and everyone roll down windows blowing speakers.
whoever is a king never loses his majesty!
React to the whole 20 minute set and you will see how great Freddie's showmanship skills...MJ loved Queen and often went to their concerts
Marvellous song about his passing.
Saw them in concert when this song came out on their News of The World album at the Fabulous Forum in Ingelwood Calif. They opened the concert with We will rock you and went straight into this. They also played most of their other albums greats.
Freddy is the ultimate Front Man. No one better. His voice and stage presence are unmatched. I love him so much. Rock God! ✊
He was literally singing for his life. He had been diagnosed with AIDS and would soon be dead. Watch the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody and watch Rami Malek portray this performance and you will see him win that Oscar in real time. Unbelievable tribute to Queen and Freddy.
Wow 🥰 beautiful sweet Freddie ❤️ Freddie Mercury is simply unique 🤩 liked subscribed 😁
You gotta watch the WHOLE SET.
SO GREAT!!!!
More Queen please!! There’s so many classics that you’ll love. Your channel will grow if you keep putting out Queen. 100%
And Queen won't block you.
He was extremely great talent....saw him live...in 1988
Freddie... amazing performer, singer, miss him. There is only one Freddie!
Its like Happy Birthday this song will be going forever
Freddie is the GOAT!!!!
Watch Sombody to Love
1981 Montreal..
It's MINDBLOWING!!
live aid was the best day for music in the uk and the usa the streets in the uk were alive fantastic day in history just an array of stars and queen was no exception absolutely brilliant
Freddie was a true star. He died the way he lived. Singing. The last Queen record was called "Made in heaven" and released 2 years after Freddie died. There was a lot of material left.
I was stood outside Fred's house in Kensington London last month.I visit London for a weekend break 3 or 4 times a year and always take the time to go to touch the huge wall around his old home.👌
One of the best performances ever by Freddie and Queen you could ever watch, try to watch the full performance by them at Live Aid Wembley UK 1985, you will not be disappointed.
Queen's performance at live aid was as amazing then as it is now.
Loving your reactions. Keep coming with the Queen ones. Their catalogue of music is phenomenal
Thank you so much!!
So many Queen songs have been used in commercials, movie soundtracks and other places it would be hard to have never heard them. You just didn’t know it was Queen. Freddie composed music in so many genres including opera, and recorded a full opera album with the famous Spanish diva Montserrat Caballé. They have three great performances together on CZcams titled “Barcelona”, “How Can I Go On” and “The Golden Boy”. The first fusion of rock and opera and the song Barcelona was a theme song for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Sadly Freddie passed away in 1991.
Need to watch this short concert in full. They were one of the smallest bands in this charity event but they stole the show.
Sorry but they weren’t one of the smallest bands, they were almost able to pick the time of their slot UK side as they were one of the biggest bands. There weren’t that many bands or artists that were bigger than Queen who performed that day
Please react to Queens 21 minute concert at Live Aid! Their song We will Rock You was written specifically so the audience could participate in Queens concerts. Freddie Mercury was asked once what his favorite instrument to play was and his response, "The audience!" He loved the people and wanted everyone to love and sing the music also.
The very first Queen song I ever heard was Killer Queen. I was hooked from that time on.
I lived in Hawaii in late 70's and one of my memories is a ship coming back into port after being in some war games, blasting this from their loudspeaker.
This concert was a huge deal, a very huge deal. It was held In Philadelphia and London simultaneously by a number of different bands but I think Queen was the best performance by any band during that history event. Watch the whole concert when you get a chance Britt! I think you will enjoy it entirely ❤️
Awwww, love your Queen reactions🤗❤️
i watched LIVE AID live from Taegu Korea. it was amazing! recorded it on VHS and sure wish i still had it.
queen hired out a concert hall and practiced this set for a week before the live aid concert. true pros.
That was great, enjoyed it, you have to watch the whole of the 'Live Aid' Queen set it's fantastic all round, three cheers to you and thanks
You need to watch the queen's live aid concert in full its amazing
You should react to the whole set. It was seen live by 1.9 Billion people in 130 countries and is generally considered one of the best live performances in history. Freddie held the 72,000 people at Wembley in the palm of his hand. It was amazing!!!!
This was phenomenal performance
This whole set is amazing.
Would be so cool to see you react to the entire Live Aid set by Queen, Freddie truly shines
I think we all forget how long ago this incredible concert was? I'm 53, but was only 15 back in 1985; some 38 years ago!! You have to be over say 45 to even remember it at the time?
That's the song we played before a city championship basketball game while we're doing layups in 1977.
we will rock you and we are the champions was both written because they wanted the crowd to sing and react with them
LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!!!!
Great reaction! Thank you.
If you've not already, try the Queen song "Bohemian Rhapsody"...
Someone said they thought that every human being on planet earth has heard that particular song! You'll like it for sure. What a jewel Freddie Mercury is!
Live Aid. Was it really that long ago? Yes. Some days we never forget. That day was one of them.
After growing up in Winnersville USA, this song was played after almost every single football game we played so I’ve played it in band and on my radio thousands of times
Watch Live Aid....
Queen KILLED IT!!!!!!
We Will Rock You is another Queen song that has become a sports anthem.
We always sang this on the bus going to football games, and hopefully coming back from them. Peace, Love!!
It made me sad to hear you never heard of Queen and after watching the video it made me so happy to live this with you hearing it for the first time, you need to see Bohemia rapsody, one of the best songs in rock history, thank you for shering this with us
Always they had such respect for the audience ❤
there is so much you dont know of the world, amo q estes en este camino, gracias!! thank you!!!
RIP to the greatest front man ever! Freddie Mercury!
The whole Live Aid performance is a masterpiece. I think you should definitely check it out
Queen at Live Aid, owned that show. They blew everyone else away. You need to watch their whole performance. I watched it live. It was the most incredible thing I've ever seen.
And now Dolly Parton has just done a cover of this for the Olympics.
You've still got to react to the official video for Bohemian Rhapsody. Your mind will be blown away.
Brian May's Guitar ( Red Special ) was made by Brian and his dad from an old fireplace mantel....just side note for ya ! the name of the band was taken from Freddie Mercury or Farrouk Bulsara, because he was a Queen.....
As others have said, their whole Live Aid set is amazing.
I am amazed how effortlessly you are able to sing along. I wish I could do that so spontaneously.
Do the full live performance...many say it is the best rock concert performance ever. Around 20 minutes of spectacular music....
The iconic 'Live Aid' concert...(wish we could see better what you are reacting to!) Freddy holds a microphone in one hand and 70,000 people in the other.
As a young soldier, my Pass Off (graduation) party/disco we went crazy to this newly released song, kind of fit the mood! ... shortly followed by Bony M and "Belfast". Funny dj.
anything on Queen II! it's breathtaking.
Thanks for reacting to this amazing song. Love Queen! 60K subs right around the corner!
thank you so much!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Have the day you deserve!
The song played before this was 'We Will Rock You', but it was only a partial coverage of the song, you might want to watch the actual music video of it.
Another song you might notice the beat of, seeing how the bass beat was stolen by another artist (no spoiler here), is Under Pressure, the live version at Wembley Stadium is awesome, especially with the crowd participation. It was written with David Bowie and the beat created by John Deacon transcends time . . . . watch it and you will see.
Rock in peace. You are the champion. ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🇮🇹
You really need to watch the whole live aid performance it's one of if not the best live performance of all-time
Freddie wasn't a dancer, but he did hang out with ballet dancers and learned some of their moves.
Freddy was such a pioneer, Brain May, lead guitar, is even a astro physics
No body on this planet can match him vocal wise and singing live I've had the pleasure to watch queen 3 times live fisrt time in 1974 just sixteen and live aid 1985 and my home city Manchester in England nobody who's walked this earth can compare to him
We attended Live Aid in Philadelphia with so many unbelievable artists in a once in a lifetime event. Nothing before and nothing ever since like this in my lifetime. Happening at the same time with a whole different stable of first rate musicians in England which they played on Jumbotron TV's all over JFK stadium. In between the live acts we watched the simulcast from England at Wembley Stadium. When Queen came on they completely stole the audience. So happy to have had the experience - and something I will never forget.
Skip the individual reactions, and react to the whole Live Aid performance... about 20 minutes. Absolutely fantastic.
