    Boracay and its white sand beaches is just 4 hours by comfortable airconditioned Ceres bus from Iloilo City. And Guimaras island and its white sand beaches and coves and its mangoes which are the sweetest in the world (try also everything mango, e.g. mango shake, mango pizza, mango-sauced spaghetti, hamburger in mango sauce, mango butterscotch, mango tarts, etc), , are just 20 minutes away by fastcraft boats via the convenient Parola terminal nearby off the Fort San Pedro in Iloilo City Ptoper. And in ILOILO? ILOILO CITY is the first city in the Philippines that has received (just recently, on October 30, 2023) the coveted UNESCO CREATIVE CITY FOR GASTRONOMY recognition. Talk about the excellent local cuisine that has been given recognition by the United Nations Organization.

      I think Iloilo City is the best city in the Philippines. Well managed by city officials. The friendliest people you will encounter anywhere. And now being a foodie destination. A city that the Philippines can be very proud of!

    Good stuff Ginno. Another transportation option is Grab. Found them to be very inexpensive and convenient in Iloilo. We are looking hard at Iloilo City as a part time refuge when we’re here. Love Kalibo but options limited. Headed to Boracay tomorrow. Dreaming of mango pancakes! God Bless brother! Aim High! Rick

      I’ll have to try using Grab next time instead of using a taxi in Iloilo City. You definitely have more options available to you in Iloilo City than in Kalibo. Mango pancakes at Real Coffee and Eggs Benedict at Lemon Cafe D’Mall are my go-to breakfast in Boracay. Take care and God bless brother. Aim High!

    Thanks for this great video about Iloilo City Budget. Injap hotel is a good place to stay for 2 to 3 week exploratory visit? How walkable is Iloilo for a person that lives there without a car?

    • @dazeltv1351
      @dazeltv1351  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes; Injap Hotel would be a good place to stay for an exploratory visit. Just book for two nights and then ask them for a better deal the rest of your stay once you get there. You get a cheaper rate here normally for walk-ins. It’s a big hotel; they always have rooms available. 2k pesos a night. If you want to save some money; go to airbnb.com; they have places for 1,200-1,500 pesos a night. It’s walkable; but bring an umbrella because it’s hot. If you are by SM City Mall or Festive Mall; it’s walkable. Taxis are plenty and cheap; can take you anywhere for 100 pesos (around $2).

      All the public markets in Iloilo City are being demolished simultaneously and are now under reconstruction to state-of-the-art facilities, and will be fully available next year 2025. These are the Jaro, La Paz, Mandurriao, Villa Arevalo public markets, and the two biggest in the downtown Calle Real area - Iloilo Central Market (Tienda Mayor and the Iloilo "Super" Terminal Market which are being planned and constructed by the SM Devt Corporation. In the meantime, you can go marketing for fresh produce in the temporary structures specially built for the concessionaires who will return to their new kiosks when their public markets are fully operational in 2025. These public markets now under construction are being patterned/inspired by such as those in Europe like the Barcelona (Spain) public markets.
