I’m 61 and went to Greece when I was 18. I remember standing at the Acropolis (amazing!) thinking- “I’m the exact same person here as I am in New York.” Travel was supposed to transform us magically- it doesn’t. You are the 1st person who articulated my exact sentiments- many thanks!

A few seconds later, you mentioned how you struggle with insecurity. Its pretty crazy how we all think the same things, huh...
ah wow it is totally wild to hear. but very human and relatable. the whole time i was editing this video i was annoyed at myself for committing to hard to such a hideous filming angle under the chin hah. i was not happy with how i looked, and often couldnt tell if i liked how i was "coming off" either - am i too annoying?? too loud?? it's easy to tear yourself apart if you want to. i dont know that that will go away for me, but i am very grateful to be able to keep on sharing anyway. thanks for the sweet comment. i hope you do something nice for yourself today
@@Caroline_Winkler As someone who is always told that I am too loud and too annoying- we have to embrace it. I understand that it may get on people's nerves but- that is who we are. To pretend and act otherwise is not honoring ourselves and not living authentically. We need not worry about how we are coming off if we are simply being ourselves - just like how we don't like people because of various reasons, others will not like us because we are "too much" but that is 100% okay. If we dialed it back and were more reserved and quiet there would still be people who didn't like us- you can't make everyone happy :)

Damnit Caroline, I don’t usually watch travel videos and I got TOTALLY sucked in. Everything looked so beautiful and effortless. B-roll and inspiring music, new places, drinks and food but still going for a run. I was feeling the “I want to live like that” “I’ve been wanting to learn Italian” and in the background of my mind I heard a whisper of “find a way to live every day like this, weave those elements in, be present”. Then you pulled me back down to earth with the comments about the struggles and unseen issues that get lost because they’re difficult to capture or convey. I could probably find some really pretty moments in each of my days and put inspiring music over it and make my life seem more like the one I’d like to live. It’s about perspective. I really appreciate what you’re trying to do here, and the way you represent yourself. Thank you
Incredible to read this. I do think it’s really important to remind everyone that vlogs are highlight reels. There’s so much in between. Which is why I love to include the dark sides to, and I’m really glad that makes sense to you as a viewer. If u want to work on a language, I really enjoyed signing up for a class. i freaking love the way the tiny instant of black screen at the end of the video shows me my own face smiling thinking about how im trying to live and how im passionate about the people i have in my life. this channel is helping me A LOT since i left my parents house and moved to another city. there are days i feel completely lost and somehow these videos, even the homedecor ones, can really remember me how is it to feel happy and proud (?) idk, i just got emotional and wanted to say how thankful i am right now

@@nicolettastrada5976 I understand that, but I looked at the surroundings as well, people seemed more relaxed, plus I lived in Germany for a year when I was much younger and even 40 years ago I could appreciate the more relaxed atmosphere in Europe, much more emphasis placed on family time, it wasn’t all about money!
Your trip looked so dreamy 😍 99% of customs people are so aloof and mean and that makes them 1000% more attractive, BUT customs people in Dublin are so nice it's unsettling. I kept thinking they were trying to trick me into disclosing smuggled produce I didn't have, but no, they're actually just real nice.
Probably my favorite travel vlog ever. Just fun, relatable moments set in a new place. Nothing felt fake or showy or like a flex. It felt like a trip you’d take with your best buds, saving some of the little moments you’ll be so glad to have captured years later.
This is the best vlog ever - it is not overproduced, it shows the real picture of Italy, not just picture perfect, super glam, extra expensive places. It feels like I am on vacation. Thank you🎉

I once missed my flight by 12 hours (read 9pm on the ticket when it was actually 9am). I was in Poland on my own and I did not speak any Polish. In the end, I spent 6 hours at Krakow airport and it was a pretty fun adventure - I read two books, people watched all day, AND found a private bathroom on the second floor. Probably won't aim to do the same ever again, mind you.
Your closing statement made me tear up lol - got back from my honeymoon in Europe last week and have been feeling the exact same way - about how who we are in life is who we are on vacation, and about trying to live everyday life with the wonder of being on vacation. Thank you for articulating it so well and hope you had the best trip!! ❤

spending a fair amount of time each weekend watching videos about property for sale in Italy, I understand the conflict between the life, the ideal, the vacation and the choices we all make either consciously or thru abdication. I first came across your channel in the video where you spoke about loneliness, and it resonated with me in SUCH A BIG WAY that when I rediscovered you and that video specifically recently - I took notes! I hope we get to continue to enjoy your content for as long as you are able to produce them. The way you approach the content you make, for a lack of better term, is simply a breath of fresh air and I'm excited each time you upload to hear more of the thoughts in that noggins of yours! I'm not sure if you're looking for content ideas or if you'd be willing to create content on this, but personally I'd love to hear more about how you approach creating content on CZcams and maybe some tips on how one should start? Specifically on finding your niche in CZcams, but also not letting that define you and still having some creative freedom to explore outside of that. Prepping for the fourth funeral i will be attending this year. I needed some fun pick me up. So deep and inspirational as I am about to celebrate another's life ended.
Sister struggles are no joke…I have two, one 11 months younger, one 4 years younger. I feel like I’d argue with Elizabeth and she would find me annoying…but it seems that she would find most people annoying.😂 Traveling with anyone is challenging. The one person I always have fun with and she never annoys me is my bestie of 43 years. Fun to see you three enjoying Italy and so envious you speak Italian.😏

Damnit Caroline, I don’t usually watch travel videos and I got TOTALLY sucked in. Everything looked so beautiful and effortless. B-roll and inspiring music, new places, drinks and food but still going for a run. I was feeling the “I want to live like that” “I’ve been wanting to learn Italian” and in the background of my mind I heard a whisper of “find a way to live every day like this, weave those elements in, be present”. Then you pulled me back down to earth with the comments about the struggles and unseen issues that get lost because they’re difficult to capture or convey. I could probably find some really pretty moments in each of my days and put inspiring music over it and make my life seem more like the one I’d like to live. It’s about perspective. I really appreciate what you’re trying to do here, and the way you represent yourself. Thank you

Probably my favorite travel vlog ever. Just fun, relatable moments set in a new place. Nothing felt fake or showy or like a flex. It felt like a trip you’d take with your best buds, saving some of the little moments you’ll be so glad to have captured years later.

I once missed my flight by 12 hours (read 9pm on the ticket when it was actually 9am). I was in Poland on my own and I did not speak any Polish. In the end, I spent 6 hours at Krakow airport and it was a pretty fun adventure - I read two books, people watched all day, AND found a private bathroom on the second floor. Probably won't aim to do the same ever again, mind you.
Your closing statement made me tear up lol - got back from my honeymoon in Europe last week and have been feeling the exact same way - about how who we are in life is who we are on vacation, and about trying to live everyday life with the wonder of being on vacation. Specifically on finding your niche in CZcams, but also not letting that define you and still having some creative freedom to explore outside of that. Prepping for the fourth funeral i will be attending this year. I needed some fun pick me up. So deep and inspirational as I am about to celebrate another's life ended.
Sister struggles are no joke…I have two, one 11 months younger, one 4 years younger. I feel like I’d argue with Elizabeth and she would find me annoying…but it seems that she would find most people annoying.😂 Traveling with anyone is challenging. The one person I always have fun with and she never annoys me is my bestie of 43 years. Fun to see you three enjoying Italy and so envious you speak Italian.😏
