  • How to solder with a hot air rework station, using a no-clean flux to repair a part.
The hot air station is the Quick, and the flux used is ChipQuik 30cc Syringe.
Hot air temperature is set to 380C and 18 air speed.

is it the flux that holds the part in place? When I try to do it, the parts move all over the place and I have a big project coming up that has a couple hundred 0402 components and I don't think I want to hand solder all of them if there's a better way!

lower your airflow speed, and/or use a bigger nozzle. a smaller funnel nozzle forces the air out faster

I keep my hotair station at 380C and medium airflow, you then make adjustments to speed and temp by moving near or far from the part as needed.
For larger PCBs and larger parts, you may need to crank the temperature much higher and/or use a hot plate.
