Nice review. I was looking for a daily trainer and speed interval trainer to do short reps for my 5-15km runs. I am more on my heel, often achillea and calf problems. Love a rocker and a drop to push me forward. Love a higher stack and minimal medium dense foam also not to hard for my heel. I am 84kg and not lite feeted. I tough the Mach 6 as daily and Mach x as speed interval trainer. But could I beter do the saucony ride 17 and speed 3 or 4? And perhaps a bondi, triumph or ghost max or nimbus as recovery ? Hope any one could help me. I think the drops are a statically right? With softer foam the stack will be lower in real running I quess?

I’m petite and very light at 102 lbs, so weight does impact me (as well as bulk, which is why I didn’t re-buy the Nimbus26). I’m loving the Mach6 and it’s even doing very well for 2 digit LR's, while also nimble enough for many other kinds of runs. It’s holding up great at 100 miles and I will buy another when the time comes later this summer.

I love the Mach X, it really allows/helps me lock into a pace. Think it’s a better shoe for a heavier foot strike. It’s for me a natural transition to Rocket X2

Will be interesting to see if they bring out a new version of Mach X or shelve it like the Bondi X. Would also not be surprised to see a Clifton X! 😄

In a “Believe in the run” video ,they were talking with a Hoka representative and the new Mach x was showed.

I have the Saucony Ride 17 and the Mach 6. The Ride fits much better around the front, being a little wider. The Mach feels better underneath to me - feels like there's a bit more cushion, bounce back and bit more nimble. I'm not great with technicalities so if someone could tell me why the Hoka might feel like that vs the Saucony, I'd appreciate it. Type of foam / rigidity? The Ride is firmer and I feel like I get less back. If I knew what the terms were it'd help me when I look for my next pair! Thanks

The Mach X has a more aggressive rocker which i prefer. This rocker style outweighs the X's disadvantages of price and weight. It's hard to find a do-it-all daily trainer with a early rocker. Hoping the Glideride 3 has a sequel soon. Wish the traction was better in the X and wish the shoe was a little wider.

No Glideride 3 sequel coming. They have made the Cumulus 26 more rockered similar to Glideride (but obviously different in a number of other ways).

@@Fozzee.1970 Rocker profile on Cumulus 26 is visually no different than the 22 which i ran in. Unlikely the 26 is like the Glideride 3. Gel Trabuco looks to use a similar last to the Glideride as does the Magic Speed 3, Metaspeed Edges. No daily trainer yet. Fingers crossed.

Just what I heard in other reviews of the Cumulus 26. I have most of the other shoes you list and none are like the Glideride 3. Either way ASICS still have discontinued it. @@MrJhockley

I love my Mach 5 but they have done 1350km and I don't use these to my workouts any more. I bought the Mach X two months ago but unfortunately these turned out to be a big disappointment for me!!! I hope the Mach X 2 to be a better shoe than the first version!!!

Just bought the Mach 6, my first HOKA, and it really is pretty amazing. The only drawback is that it doesn't do well on wet pavement. Its fairly slippery. Other than that it has exceeded my expectations. Quite bouncy and light while at the same time very cushioned for your daily miles.

Could the Mach 6 be versatile enough to be a do it all shoe even at slow paces?

Bought the Mach X and don’t like them. Find I work way to hard to get them going and not going fast enough for the effort I put out. Will use them for easy runs. I don’t know, maybe too heavy or too wide platform. Did a 24km long run and was completely done, felt like a race effort and took days to recover. Never had that with the Mach 5.

I have two pairs Mach 6 and just got the X and I agree with you. Bit of a let down but the Mach 6 is incredible

Same here. Did a 15km tempo on the X, the rocker could only do so much and lacks the pop. Also feels heavy and while not firm, feels sinking at times. Like youre stuck on first gear for the most part.

Weirdly, while I love the Rocket X2, I do not get on with any of the daily Hoka rides, hurt my feet and feel dead to me!

I bought the Mach X a few months ago and I think it's just terrible. Too clunky and heavy to get any good turnover. I don't understand where people say it's a speed trainer. The only use I've gotten out of it is switching it up for recovery runs and getting a different heel drop of 5mm compared to the usual 10-8 that I run in. Anybody else have the Mach X and feel this way too? I've seen some reviews online just trashing the Mach X and I have to agree. Mach 6 I hear is amazing for daily training as it can go fast and slow. It's weird seeing people say they are very similar. I'm going to have a hard time buying any Hokas though based on my experience with the X. Saucony only for me right now.
