There are a few reasons we are having recruiting shortfall.
    1. Drug use in the US. Most applicants that apply can't pass the drug test. Doesn't mean we should amend the drug tests, but the drug culture we are promoting as a society.
    2. Fattness. Besides drug use most applicants can't pass basic physical standards.
    3. The military hasn't accomplished anything in the last 30 years. We lost Afghanistan and Iraq (due to nation building, unclear/changing objectives instead of conducting actual warfare).
Our sailors and soldiers are constantly deployed fighting everyone in the world with zero results.
We should not be the world police. If we stopped that then maybe we would have people willing to fight for OUR country instead of some country they never heard of.
    4. Our national leadership. We have an entire federal government telling the media that half the country is domestic terrorists, and apologizing to the world for everything that has made this country great, and that has been funneled down into our schools through the dept of ed.
Rightfully so no one wants to join a military fighting for the above, dying for the policies of politicians who have done nothing but live off the public dollar.

If, the person is completing the work and hasn't committed a crime what is the problem. We got bigger problems than a person's faith which is their universal right 👍

Just over 10 years ago the American people got a closeup look at how veterans were and still are being treated by the VA Medical Centers. They saw how military members were repeatedly subjected to questionable environments (burn pits) then later denied treatment for diseases associated with the (mis)treatment they were intentionally subjected to. Is it any wonder that today’s youth don’t view ,military enlistment as a safe option?! It’s one thing to need to dodge enemy threats but when threats are coming from the organization that is supposed to be there for them, I think you have your answer!
