The fact that we're looked at as weak and docile is an advantage and a disadvantage at the same time. Nobody sees us as a threat so we can enter any neighborhood we want and nobody would pay extra attention to us. Whereas if a bunch of young black men go into the burbs there would definitely be a lot of eyes on them and they'd maybe even get the cops called. But on the flip side people we get no respect and people feel they could just walk over us. Double edged sword I'd say.

Well, first of all: not many people who partake in martial arts are heroic ass kicking machines,in fact, a common street thug could be a bad day for many types of martial artists. And I think thin East Asian parents don’t really put the “alpha male man” archetype on the pedestal so maybe that’s why they’re seen as passive?..just my speculation

I grew up attending some Buddhist ceremonies at that temple in Maryland, even though I belong to the Tibetan Buddhist community here in DC. Very open-minded leaders there. But that shit gets taken advantage of.

The world isn't a utopia; it's filled with exploitation, horror, evil, and those who wish to do harm onto others. We can't allow our naïve optimism to cloud our best judgements. Never allow people to interpret your kindness as weakness, or you'll be conveying yourself as vulnerable prey.

Interesting, people look for where money might be at the end of the day. I mean the opiates brought to Asia, by the west was a mess in China where people were strung out on drugs during Mao’s era. Drugs tend to be systemic at times with bigger forces at play, such as the war of drugs during the Reagan era, which destroy minority communities in the west but did nothing to the Anglo people who used drugs or sold them creating part of the one parent home in certain places, etc. The news is not the best place to be educated due to propaganda (they want to put people into certain belief systems that might not be accurate because the news will shoe what they want you to see and not the whole picture due to wanting outrage, ratings and distrust of certain groups, which is powerful when they need a villain for groups that are disliked for ignorant reasons).
