I've looked for a detailed vid on drum to disc conversion for awhile thanks for the upload i plan on converting to wilwood front and rear disc on my 99 durango
THANK YOU GUYS!!!! THIS VIDEO HELPED ME OUT A LOT.....YOU DIDN'T MENTION A COUPLE THINGS IN THE VIDEO THOUGH. THE YELLOW RUBBER THING PUSHED INSIDE THE PISTON, DO WE LEAVE THAT IN OR TAKE IT OUT? ALSO, DO WE NEED TO INSTALL THE SQUARE BRACKET AND THE DUST SHIELD OR DO WE INSTALL ONE OR THE OTHER? THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP...
here are my questions on these kits. 1. why would they be designed where you have to unbolt and tilt the caliper to have the bleeder at an appropriate bleeding angle. why would the calipers not be designed to be bled without the removal of the caliper. 2. why is there no fitting made to eliminate the flex hose and the need to weld that tab onto your axle? why not either make a bracket that can be clamped to the axle or make a fitting so that the banjo bolt can be used to attach the actual line to the caliper and have the hard line left at stock length and simply be able to thread the hard line into the fitting thus eliminating the useless flex hose and the need to weld brackets to your axles?
hey guys! so after some quick searching cpp does sell a bracket that clamps onto your axle instead of welding. the part # on summit is CLP-RBHTK $15 bucks saves you the hassle of welding stuff to your axle
Short story is this kit is oversold. Not all the parts required for installation are included. Some machine work or welding may be required. Adapters for different size brake lines will likely be required if changing from a single master to a dual master system. A double flair tool will likely be required to make the installation look correct and not have a bunch of loops in the brake lines. If changing from a single to a dual master cylinder the brake lines require separating and rerouting, likely under the car or truck. If the flexible line from the body to the differential is not in the exact middle one of the stainless lines for the rear caliper may be too long and difficult to attach. Emergency brake cables will likely be incorrect in length. On systems were the bracket attaches to the back of the 4 bolt flange, lining up the caliper to be 90degress from the caliper is difficult. This is not addressed in the instructions and could affect the braking longevity and performance. Wiring for the portioning valve light will need to be addressed. Factory assistance is close to nonexistent. All of this withstanding it can be installed and the issues worked out. To complete a clean install with the issues addressed I would plan on 40 hours installation time. More time will be required if you do not have a full shop and possibly a lift to complete the installation. Be fore warned, this kit is more of a universal kit and is not a painless install.
No wrong bolt pattern. But the 94-96 Caprice/ Impala bolts into your car and comes with rear disc and posi. It's 3" narrower if lowriding you can run your shirts and 3 wheel

Nice choice of background music. 😎
What about Master cylinder, proportioning valve, residual valves, use originals or do they need replacing?

Thanks.
Is there just 1 c clip to release both axles?
Dame Troupe there's 1 c clip on each side holding each Axle
Dame Troupe After you put it all together you have to take it all back apart to do the other side lol. And what is a drop axle?

What vehicle did you encounter these issues on?
Plug and play on a 68 Camaro 12 bolt.
You don’t show how to attach the parking brake cables to the intermediate cables
Hey will the Camaro rear brakes work on a 72 impala

If your running C-clip eliminators, the process is a bit different, I really feel there should be better instructions out there.
